Andry came from Andy and Audrey, so I thought it would sound androgynous. In fairness, it kinda does. I later expanded that to Andreous for more formal things (AKA Rise of Kingdoms)

to anyone who has chosen their own name: whats the origin story? how did you decide on your name, and where did it come from?
personally i stole my name from a fictional character. i wouldnt say i named myself after the character, i just happened to like the name. my middle name, bridget, is funnier. a friend got me genuinely confused with her enough times that they just started calling me bridget on purpose. i decided to commit to the bit.

This is really stupid but I just found out that Maximilian is a real name I thought it was just a nickname for people named max or rich people it doesn’t sound real
Found out today I was named after a character from the Broadway musical Showboat which probably explains why I’m a theater kid.

So, at first my username was 'vaquinhadecogumelinhos', which was created when I was 11-12 years old. Well, I spent a long time before going back to using tumblr. And yet that name had a reason.
'Vaquinha-de-cogumelinhos' translate to 'LilMushrooms-Calf' and i named my blog like this cause when i was younger, i was OBSESSED with bulls and cows and calfs. And I was innocently wandering around Minecraft with my cousins and one of them drops the information that there is a mushroom cow. Mushrooms were another thing I had a big hyperfocus on for a good few years. I heard this and went looking for a picture or confirmation that it was real, and I came across the wonder of the cows on Minecraft's mushroom island.
I fell in love at first sight.
This was perfect, my two hyperfocuses on one thing. So I decided that I would name any social midia username after those perfections of fictional nature.
It's been a good few years since I stopped using tumblr and I came back in December of last year, and I fell in love with tumblr. But my username was no longer something I identified with, not even my profile picture was something I liked. So I changed everything.
My profile picture and dashboard are now as chaotic and weird as I've accepted myself to be. And I'm happy with that. But my name was another story.
I'm nearly fluent in American English, which is a blessing because it's also mostly in English. But I realized that for a social network that's mostly in English, my username could be as dificult to write as a dinosaur's. So I changed it to something simple, but that would describe me well. I could have put Angry-wild-racoon, but I chose beginning-writer. Cause whoever read it would know right away what half of my blog is about. Write. The other half is reserved for the five-person Cursed fandom and the even smaller fandom that ships Lancewain.

For my name it was a nickname I was giving back in middleschool! One of our teacher had a system where we worked with 'wifi' eachtime we talked in class we lost a bar of the "wifi" (was a weird joke and we never held count on that) All the kids usually joked if they needed 'wifi' , they would borrow mine if they wanted to talk more. (I was incredibly shy in middle school, I only talked to like 3 people at school;^;)
They called me Ms. Wifi because of that. I just thought it would be funny if I put 'miss' instead of 'ms' because of my terrible actual wifi connection I have at home lol.

Preferred Name
The other day a friends parent introduced me to some of her friends by my preferred name. It made me so happy in the moment I could barely mutter a greeting because she was the first adult in my life who knew me before by my birth name and made the intentional change to my preferred name. It got me thinking about preferred names and this came to my mind as a message to those who don’t call others by their preferred names:
Imagine you work with a person. Not in close proximity but you know of each other. Imagine one of your mutual coworkers as a joke tells this person that your preferred name is Bucket.
This person takes that information and continues to refer to you as Bucket even correcting other coworkers into call you by that name. You don’t know where the source is so you can’t stop it. And this continues for years.
Then finally you two get moved and start working together regularly. You finally get the chance to correct this person on what your really name is.
Their response: “but I’ve always known you as Bucket calling you anything else would be so hard. So I’ll just call you Bucket if that’s okay”
This continues. They call you Bucket every time you speak. They introduce you to new people as Bucket they call you Bucket in front of large groups of people and people who know your real name who get confused.
They don’t stop and when you correct them their response is: “sorry but it’s just hard to change and remember”
Wouldn’t you be frustrated? Wouldn’t you be annoyed? Wouldn’t you be uncomfortable?
Respect people. Respect their names. Don’t make excuses. It’s not hard to understand.

Life Update - Dear Player
I totally forgot to tell you my latest storys.
Currently I have a hideout on a farm. As long as I help I can stay as long as I want to. Yesterday Milo, the young son of the farmer, told me to follow him into the barn for a surprise: Deep within the hay their cat gave birth to 4 little Kittens. I can tell by their looks that they’re already about 3 weeks old.
Good to know, because we started to worry where the cat was. Luckily she just became a mother and wanted to surprise us with a great comeback, I think.
I’m not sure if I can snap a picture. I don’t even know if you want to see it. Alternatively I have some pics of Nelly, the farmer’s dog. She’s a sweatheart.

People take names and especially surnames so damn seriously and act like they’re written in stone but the big secret here is they’re all fake, it’s all made up. David Tennant picked out his name at 16 because his real name was barred from the actor’s union he joined on account of their No Doubles Allowed rule, and he wound up naming himself after Neil Tennant from the Pet Shop Boys of all things, and now many years later his whole family carries on that same made-up name he committed to as a teenager. All names are made up and fake as hell, call yourself whatever feels right.

In the context of Meiste, absolutely. It's only now that I realize I've never described the names of the characters, nor how they relate.
Iziser - A borrowing from Classical Zispoel "Izilseor," which is a name found in the Epic of the Hero of Life. It was once used to mean 'one who eats,' and metaphorically extended to 'one who is in love,' then 'one who loves.'
Hotautebz - Hotau is to literally ascend. It's an Old Ytos word for to ascend, plus "tebz" which is another old word for person.
Lozerief - Classical Zispoel for 'life,' definitely supposed to be a pun since she's the Hero of Earth, not life.

Nametags in the workplace should be optional as well as if a first name or last name is used. I don't want people knowing my name. You can call me by my gamertag or whatever dnd character I'm playing at the moment. Preferably, anyone who interacts with me at work thinks I'm the shy helpful ghost that haunts the back areas of the library. Names ruin that perception. In this essay, I will-
