lance walking in the sun this morning
I’ve said it before and I’ll keep saying it, Lance Stroll is an enigma. He’s a good driver who doesn’t have the confidence he once held. And in a sport like this, confidence is everything. His driving style is precise, driven, and he’s a good defender when he has a good enough car to do so. He may not open himself up to the media as much as he used to but that’s the consequences of how shitty the media treated him in the first place.
this was originally written in a reblog but i decided it needed its own post
literally begging everyone to watch an interview given by baby lance, whether it be 11 year old ferrari junior lance or 18 year old williams rookie lance and understand that he wasn’t always this way, always this reserved and closed off and unexpressive. the media has beaten him black and blue and scrutinised every little thing he says and used any excuse they can to say that he is clearly a spoilt brat who will never amount to anything.
he gives them nothing because they can't make anything out of nothing. but of course they do it anyway, they make him out to be someone who thinks he's 'above it all' 'tired of the sport' 'entitled little shit' when in reality he loves F1 with all he has and hides himself in a protective shell of quiet indifference to try to avoid media scrutinisation.
mark webber once said (in his book) that fernando alonso was a very shy and reserved person in reality. yet when he teamed up with lance, he took on the brunt of the media duties specifically because he knew lance struggled with them.
lance isn't spoilt, entitled, or bored of f1 because he doesn’t express much in press conferences. he's simply incredibly introverted and has been worn down over the years by the constant scrutinisation he has been subjected to by the media.
-Logan DNF because he felt ill
-Esties threw up by lap 15
-Lance stumbled to the ambulance after getting out of the car
-Max and Oscar couldn't even stand
-George had to take his hands off the wheel, opened his visor for air in pit
-Alex couldn't get out of his car for 2 minutes and needed assistance
-Fernando complained about his seat was too hot
-Kevin Magnussen requesting to have the 'leaf blowers' directed at him by the Haas mechanics
-Bottas said it was “torture” and on the limit of being acceptable to race in
-Yuki tried opening his visor to get more air in, only for sand to blow in

I noticed that on the Internet there aren't many fanart of lance and that made me kinda sad, its not my favorite driver but I still like him and I don't like the hate he gets so.. so here's the art. If no one will draw him, then I will😮💨😌

Fanfiction
Just wondering if there’d be any interest in a fanfic I’m in the midst of writing where Lance gets (monetarily) cut off by his dad who hopes it makes him more independent but instead Fernando becomes his sugar daddy? It takes place in the summer break and likely the first race back (Zandvoort). I have somewhat over 3k words but would like to know if this is just for myself or there’s interest considering the Strollonso ao3 fanfic supply is not that full? :)
