Where the trans satire misses the mark in IASIP
Gonna talk about this because it does kinda bug me, and I am a trans man. I wanna start by saying I don't think that trans people shouldn't be joked about, but like any good satire the joke shouldn't be on us. I also do think there is great LGBT rep in sunny and they get it right a lot but also in this case I think they got it wrong.
What has always irked me is that the joke with Carmen was Mac wants to be with her because she has a penis and Mac is gay. I know that when they introduced Carmen Mac wasn't written as being gay, but later he is and he does come out and yes it makes sense that he was sleeping with women because of comphet but now it just seems even more like Carmen was the only woman he really liked because she has a penis.
I know its a little late now but I wish they would've found a way to clear this up.
(not to mention the zoom on the penis in the pants, the whole joke being transwoman have penis funny)
Really what should have happened is Mac finds a trans man that he is super into, but he refuses to acknowledge him as being a man, even though hes a total beefcake. Mac could still refuse to admit he's gay and everyone could point out how completely delusional he is because, well, that's obviously a man.
I don't know, maybe Im just not getting it.

charlie stan: trans n/or gay!!!!! sleepy all day everyday. loves coffee. does not give a single shit about looks or appearance, yet still very self conscious. the sweetest ppl you will ever meet. best music taste. weed.
mac stan: 50 percent lesbians and 50 percent gays. certified dumbasses. rob mcelhenney threw the first brick at stonewall. ironically hates bodybuilding and church. most likely anarchists. wears tank tops to mimic mac.
frank stan: literally never seen any but, all straights and over 40.
If you're going to be the type of person who shits on Rob McElhenney for the new episode of mythic quest episode unfollow me now. Rob is not the rich asshole you all are making him out to be. All of you are being stupid and here's why.
1) Sure he has his own hot tub and he has a lot of money but he has raised that money in an honest way through his acting and writing.
2) Rob McElhenney and Kaitlin Olson have donated so much money to different charities. For example they raised over $130,000 dollars for Philabundance then donated $50,000 more.
3) He's most likely not making a Quarentine episode to make money off of a pandemic. He's probably making it to give people content (in a creative way) since we are getting almost no new content from any shows right now.
If you're going to treat rich people like shit (which I normally don't mind) make sure you do your research and shit on the right people (like Jeff Bezos).
