Ellipsus - Blog Posts
Obsidian is one of my longtime faves for planning and worldbuilding, and Ellipsus is very staunchly anti-AI! Here's a link to a post about it:
So because I got a slight amount of motivation for writing(wild what a lung infection will do to you) I've decided to take it up again. But I am not going to be caught dead using google drive/docs.
Are there any good alternatives? Cause when I tried to find a software that didn't train AI I literally only got results on how to avoid people detecting AI use.
Well, I should've fucking listened the last time. Last time it turns out it was only being saved locally, so the problem was solved by just getting on my computer. Now, my computer restarted on its own and my entire draft is gone. All 10,000 or so words. At least I still have the stuff I wrote on docs before I switched. Anyways, this is where we part ways ellipsus. You were kinda cool while you lasted
Decided to switch to Ellipsus last night half way through a document since I had just heard so much good stuff about it. I don't think it's right for me gang. Maybe I'm just stupid, but the interface immediately seemed a lot more complicated than Google docs which I didn't like. I guess it's cool that you can change the color of the background to green or beige.
However, rn I'm in the hot tub and I was getting some inspiration to write so I opened up Ellipsus...only to find my work missing. The only "draft" that was shown was the welcome page. Guys I'm gonna be so missed if I go upstairs to my computer and all my work is missing. Like I'm actually scared. If it's gone I'll probably just forget about my account and go back to docs. I'm sure it works well for other people, especially those who write collaboratively, but for me it's kind of just a worse version of Google docs. The only benefit I could really see was that it looked nicer.
Maybe I'm just doing it wrong. Does it not have an auto-save feature?? Anyway, thanks for listening to my yap.
