A list of my personal favorite albums. Some helped me get through emotional patches with things in my personal life or made me appreciate the recommendations from friends and family. Some introduced me to smaller artists or the genre as a whole. I could go on and on with some albums but this is my first post here and I don't exactly know what the character limit is or if people would want to just hear me ramble on my first post. If you do want to discuss or talk about certain albums, let me know.

dsbm or “depressive suicidal black metal” is a subcategory of black metal and it talks mostly about agony, suicidal thoughts and tendencies, dark human life aspects and hopelessness and although this themes are recurrent in the black metal genre, dsbm stands for the intensity of their focus in this themes.
origins in 1990s with “dark ambient bands” and the atmospheric black metal subgenre.
Although dsbm can be seen as an angry, erratic hatred towards humanity and the word kind of thing, it can also be more of a suicidal, sad and melancholic type of art.
one of the main characteristics of dsbm is the “atmosphere” of the music, making u feel more desolated and alone than before with relatable lyrics and the agony screams for help of the artist singing
listening to dsbm can feel like being opened alive, feeling your guts being busted while the only thing u can do is listen to your own sounds of agony in the most beautiful and catchy way possible.
in my opinion, such darkness must exist in music because it exists in ourselves. it’s a form to let out our darkness and most depressive thoughts in a free space such as music
