sorry to disappoint but there's no murder, unfortunately, though dron murder husbands (while extremely ooc, least likely characters to actually get off their asses and kill someone) would be awesome
i'm referencing these tags specifically:
i too, hate when problems aren't simple enough to be solved by murder, we have to resort to hitting the books unfortunately š

Harry Potterā¦..eh. No, I do love Harry, I do and there is a lot we can learn from him and a lot we can appreciate, itās just odd as the central character of the story one of his best and most important qualitiesāis that heās like everybody else. But thatās also so crucial, that heās not special. Yes heās got magic (but so does everyone), heās skilled at Quidditch (but Voldemort could actually fly), he wasnāt particularly smart (Hermione) or charming (Cedric), but he also wasnāt a complete lost boy (Neville), he was averageāand yet he changed and saved the world in ways big and small. So heās a bit underwhelming, which made him so powerful.
While some of the biggest aspects of his life were not his choice, others were. One of the biggest and most crucial choices he made was his being kind and in his friendships with others. He didnāt like Draco early on, and liked Ron; he maintained a friendship with Hagrid once he was more settled into his Hogwarts life and while not particularly close, would hang out with Neville and didnāt lash out at Ginny or Colin (Colin!!) or Dobby, even competing against Fleur, Krum and Cedric (who he had a personal, one-sided rivalry against), he still was kind and friendly and always tried to do the right thing.
Harry was never perfect. He didnāt always listen, let his emotions get to him more times than there are pages in the series, he didnāt think things thru and he could be very close-minded. While he did not mature in all these accounts by the end of the series, overall he did mature and learn to see the world outside himself; being there for Hermione when Ron was with Lavender, sacrificing himself to save a world he would never get to be in. Over the series Harry grew and learned from (most of) his mistakes. This is crucial as it is important for us to know that one instance wonāt ruin your life, and that people are always making mistakes and how to own up to them.
PS My favourite thing about Harry, and one of the things I love the most about the series, is how throughout it, even in his fifth year (as I remember it), every once in a while Harry would pause and meditate a bit on the world around him, how great and beautiful magic is. I love that so much
So Happy Birthday Harry Potter and Happy Birthday JK Rowling
In the beginning, the middle, and Iām sure to his end, had his final moments not been so serious and painful, Dobby could easily be considered very annoying. He wouldnāt listen and didnāt fully think things thru, making things a lot harder and sometimes more dangerous for Harry. But while I would consider himĀ an adult, just with all the pitfalls of hanging out with a toddler, Dobby was fantastic and a great role model for those who are trying to accept themselves.
While at first Dobby loves Harry for being the boy who lived, his admiration for Harry grows more overtime for the simplicity of Harry treating him as an equal, something that Dobby didnāt experience in his life before and wouldnāt experience much in his lifetime at all. Overtime Dobby begins to love and appreciate himself more, becoming someone who stands up to bullies and is always there for his friends but he shows how rough of a battle it is. While he has always wanted his freedom, he wasnāt able to take the 10 galleons a week and weekends off provided by Dumbledore for wages thinking it to be too much, and wasnāt able to easily tell Harry about Umbridge considering she was his temporary master. While we can easily see Dobbyās friendship, loyalty, and equality with Harry Potter, it is the struggle to change and be yourself that is a lesson less shown or seen that we can grasp with Dobby as while Hermione and Luna were always confident with their intelligence and didnāt care for others, Dobby knew who he was and was proud but still struggled, something that is much more common, especially for young kids and teenagers.
Dobby knew what he was worth, was kind and giving, and did what was rightāeven against his friends. He struggled with his place in the world but knew to really only care about the opinions of those who matter
There are quite a few things that come to mind when I think about this book. First and foremost, is that I recall this is the edition I was reading (whether for the first time or reread I donāt know) when I discovered JK Rowling wasnāt a man, how I ran back to look at the book and wondered why I thought she must have been from the title, and understood why she wrote her name so as not to be identified and turn others off (oy! how nothing has changed).Ā
Next, while I was young at the time I do not know what I anticipated but following the eventsĀ of their first year we expected Harry, Ron and Hermione to either be dealing with Voldemort again or not--and I love how we got both. While in some ways the fact that they were all included again makes no sense, but again it all does. Harry can speak Parseltongue and therefore gets more information and gets Ron and Hermione involved, Ginny comes from a family with morals and is the exact opposite of the Malfoys and Death Eaters so Lucius trying to frame them,Ā being the coward as he is, all makes sense and while seems a bit stretched is just coincidental. As Minerva McGonagall and Ron later discuss, however, why it is always them? Must just be their fate.Ā
Relatedly, we continue to get depth with our main trio: Hermione, Ron and Harry and the wizarding world in general while they continue to grow. While in the previous year Hermione broke some rules, they were only in regards to emergencies (stopping Snape from getting theĀ Sorcerer's Stone, lighting him on fire) or to stop others from breaking rules (stopping Harry from getting in trouble with the dragon). But in her second year she sees breaking the rules as more of a means to an end; even when the end isnāt as near or dire. She becomes less rule-obsessed or rigid in this sense and tries weighing the options and looking more at the big picture (both with stealing the ingredients of the Polyjuice Potion and just in making it and knocking out Crabbe and Goyle). With Ron, we learn more about who he really is as we see him interact more with his siblings, with Hermione (my uncle caught onto that one, not me) and learn about how he feels about himself overall even if we donāt realize it all in depth at the time. Finally, We also learn more about Harry and, with him, the wizarding world in general; how there is a class system, the downfalls of being a hero or celebrity, what it actually means to be a hero or role-model and many other somewhat small things that create a deeper meaning combined.
Finally, holy hell was this the novel with annoying people; see Myrtle, Dobby and Colin. While Dobby and Colin grew on me, and I believe all of us, they both just wouldnāt shut up or listen and you would cringe with Harry as he deals with all their drama. But on both, Harry changed; growing to be broken by Colinās death in the final battle and of course Dobby, one of his best friends. Both of these characters represented innocence, kindness, friendship, truth, honesty and so many other admirable qualities before even getting to the fact that they risked their lives for others.Ā
Myrtle? No, just creepy; I mean she was a younger teenager at the time. Do ghosts get older? Ugh, sorry, no love there.Ā
Went back to read a shared doc me and my friend put random things on in high school. I found this short little crossover crack fic and I feel like, having read this again, I must force others to experience this as well.
I present to you: The Higher Holmes
In my opinion it was VERY good. I didnāt expect myself to enjoy it as much as I did. I was excited to watch the next one and found myself unable to get enough. I realllllllly loved them!
Some people may think the first movie is a tad slow, but I honestly adored it as well. Though I still canāt decide which movie is my favorite.
Every movie, despite the length, was able to keep my full attention. They were even able to make me emotional! Thatās big for me because Iām not one to really get emotional from movies, especially not as emotional as I did these. Fear, excitement, awe, anger, tearsā¦
SO MANY TEARS!!!
I loved Dobby, the Weasley twins, Snape, etc!~
When I tell you my heart not only broke but SHATTERED at the scenes-
I cried so, so, SO much!!!
I wholeheartedly hated Beatrix and Voldemort SO, SO much⦠those freaking people. I was absolutely ecstatic at their (seemingly) painful deaths.
At first, I hated the Malfoys⦠like, all of them. In the Half-Blood Prince I felt a bit sorry for Draco, but actually felt kind of sorry for all of them at the end. I couldnāt tell if they were running because they didnāt want to risk dying, or if they were free from a control they couldnāt escape before. Lucius Malfoy seemed very disheveled which was very different from how he had appeared in the other movies, so I donāt think fear of dying was the ONLY thing that drove them away running in the last movie.
I also cried some tears during Dumbledoreās death scene. I was honestly surprised that he ended up not being as good as everyone thought he was. (I honestly liked both Dumbledores as well.)
Snapeās death sceneā¦. That tore me to pieces. Seeing what was in his tears didnāt help slow the waterfall coming from my eyes. I noticed that he smiled a bit during his death scene, just barelyā¦
I like to think that itās because Harry was trying to stop his bleeding, so it made him feel nice and cared about that someone was trying to do what they could in the moment to save him, that he was able to see Lilyās eyes one last time before he died (as Harry had his motherās eyes), and lastly that he had done his job and everything he could do to protect Harry.
I think Snape honestly did care about him, with not only him being Lilyās son but also being like his mother with his kindness.
I honestly think that after Snapeās passing he was at peace and happy in whatever paradise he went to.š¤
I think after learning everything, and the whole war with Voldemort calming down, that Harry developed not only respect but a care for Snape, as well.
I also bawled my eyes out when he told his son that his middle name (Severus) was after a Slytherian, and the bravest man he ever knew.
I ended up watching some bloopers, learning about parts that were improvised, and some antics on set. It made me so happy to learn that the actors were such great, kind people and had tons of fun on set. I liked seeing them all laugh and have fun. Itās very sad that many actors from the movie have passed. It breaks my heart. But I am happy that we were all graced with such āacting royaltyā in those movies, as well as so many others they have played in. I honestly couldnāt think of a better actor to fit any of the characters, they were all perfectly picked.
Overall, a WONDERFUL series of movies! The movies also have a plethora of really good quotes. I most certainly recommend them if you havenāt seen them, and to at least give them a chance! :) Now all I have to do is read the books. I am DETERMINED to do so!
