. . . Fighting with Dante is the best.
So I have a new Blorbo...
Played DMC5 and got stuck with V. Saying the actual canon material is sparce is an understatement.
So I decided to role play as V in Hogwarts Legacy. Works surprisingly good for my head cannon.
No mods only the vanilla game and not finished yet.
He can be a menace, unless he wants something. Still knows his way around to reach his goal.
Has a affinity for beast care, specifically a black Kneasel and a Blue Jobberknoll.
Kind of spoiler below.
seeing if i can integrate my drawings with photos taken from my toy camera
every year, my devil may cry brainrot re-emerges. here’s some stuff i drew back in like 2022
I don’t know how much times I screamed during this hell of a manga. ABSOLUTE CINEMA
V is one of my favorite DMC characters, along with Nero. (In fact, my current icon is V's face). And that is why it saddens me to see some parts of the fandom misunderstanding him so badly.
V is the human part of Vergil. That means that his motivation, adaptability and ruthlessness are in this part too.
Getting rid of your demonic part doesn't mean you have no more evil or flaws in you. In fact, I would argue that Vergil is such a complicated character BECAUSE he doesnt come to terms with his humanity until Devil May Cry 5.
That doesnt mean you need to stop saying that "V is my baby" or "he has never done anything wrong in his life" since I do that too, but it's also important to respect the source material when talking of canon lore.
Also he is always treated as weak but many forget to mention he is a menace?? Bro was walking around completely naked, robbed a man and stole his posessions, bathed IN A FOUNTAIN, kept robbing people to get enough money and doesn't explain anything.
He is the classy goth poetry man, but he is ALSO a smelly rat and will bite people. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.
This is a follow up of my "NERO DEFENCE TIME" post, you can check that one below:
Let's talk about her design first: dressed entirely in black with leather accents, a corset and sunglasses at night. Smooth blonde hair, cleavage and hourglass figure. No doubt, you are supposed to be alured by here since the first moment.
Trish is a more conventionally attractive version of Eva. Where Eva has a slightly hooked nose, Trish's straight and long. While Dante's mother hid her body and hair behing many layers of fabric and a veil (also evoking the imagery of a catholic saint), her clone's outfit could be seen in a nightclub.
Despite being created to lure the main character to Mallet Island by looking like his deceased family, her personality shines and acts in an almost opposite way to Eva.
Tapping into her story, the player sees she sacrifices herself to do the right thing. Despite living under Mundus' thumb her entire existence, her connection to Dante and experience of the human world is combined with her courage and resilience. Despite bring met with destruction, she endures.
In Devil May Cry 5, she accompanies V while he goes through his emotional turmoil (her knowing he is a part of Vergil is up for debate) and speaks the truth he needs to hear.
'I'm not your mommy, V." I think this sentence is great BECAUSE it crushes Vergils' expectations regarding Trish. She will never be his mom. She is her own person and deserves to be treated as such.
While Dante has the Devil May Cry shop, Trish has traveled to many places to work. I see this as curiosity (while also fighting demons) to experience what humanity has created.
She was created as torture. With a purpose that didn't involve her at all. And even so, she rose against her creator, found connections and a reason to live. There is nothing more beautiful than that.
CAPCOM SHE WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE A DLC IN DEVIL MAY CRY 4 I WILL NEVER FORGET WHAT YOU TOOK FROM ME
SHE IS SEVERELY UNDERRATED
GIVE HER WHAT SHE DESERVES BECAUSE SHE IS SO MUCH MORE THAN YOUR SEX APPEAL AND I WILL LOVE HER UNTIL MY DYING BREATH-
NERO DEFENCE TIME:
One of the things that saddens me in this fandom is the taking of things that happened in the games in a too literal way.
Nero gets called deadweight once, and that is his nickname until today. Many DMC fans believe he doesn't contribute to the team because of that one line.
It's important to remember Dante messes up. He also has lapses of judgement. Despite not knowing the full story, V believed the boy would defeat Urizen.
At the end of the game, Nero stops the fight between Dante and Vergil by making them see common ground and his habilities as a demon hunter. If he hadnt, the brothers would have killed eachother.
When Dante asks Nero to stay put while he goes to hell, Nero retorts with: "For you to call me deadweight again?" and Dante tries to explain himself. It shows how he didn't meant that to sting as much as it did.
Vergil trusts him so much he gives him the William Blake book, A LITERAL REPRESENTATION OF HIS HEART.
NERO IS PERFECT EXACTLY THE WAY HE IS, IN THIS ESSAY I WILL-
