Is the SCP fandom still alive 😭

I miss it so much but I also don't want an SCP fandom now because it would be ruined (like it already is/was) by all those people who sexualize characters like SCP 1471 who, despite having no specified gender (to my knowledge), is depicted as a girl just so people can sexualize it.

Anyways here's my favorite scp

This is scp 396, a steel and red plastic chair, that at random intervals, usually between four and twelve days, swaps places with another chair. Everything and everyone on the chairs gets teleported with the chairs too so it's really cool and I love it.

It's my favorite mainly because of how I found out about it :D (me and my crush were eating dinner together at a restaurant and when we finished I talked to her about scps and explained her some and then she gave me random numbers so we could search up new scps together, we laughed a lot at this one so it's my favorite)

Posting the Animal Farm review I did some months ago because I can

It had to be a maximum of 150 words, I ended up with 540 with the want of writing more but when I wrote it was 1am and I was already sending it late

(I fixed some mistakes so the word count probably isn't the same)

Animal Farm takes place on a farm in England at an unspecified time but its events represent the political events in Russia between 1917 and 1945 (the Russian revolution and the rise of communism).

At the Manor Farm, owned by Mr Jones, there's a pig, old Mayor, who one day gives a speech to all the animals on the farm, to inspire them to rebel against the human kind.

The days pass and Mayor passes away but his speech is still remembered by the other animals. One day Mr Jones and his workers forgot to feed the animals, so the animals started to rebel and they took over the farm and they changed the name of the farm to “Animal Farm”.

Snowball and Napoleon, two pigs very active in debates, spread the word about Animalism (an allegory to socialism), in which animals are all equal and are all against one big enemy, mankind.

They write 7 commandments that are the same to everyone, to ensure equality among all animals.

One day Mr Jones and his men try to take control of the farm back but the animals, led by Snowball, win the fight.

Days pass and Snowball and Napoleon are always disagreeing with one another. Snowball wants to create a windmill for electricity to provide light, hot and cold water and warmth during the winter but Napoleon thinks it would be useless and that it would be better if they just worked harder and prepared for a possible second attack from the humans.

At the barn there's a meeting to vote which idea is better but Napoleon uses dogs to send Snowball away and takes the power without leaving any choice to the animals.

He soon installs a dictatorship along with the other pigs, especially Squealer who becomes sort of his messanger.

His leadership is filled with inconsistencies and lies:

- He changes the commandments as he pleases, exploiting the inability to read of most of the other animals

- He makes up stories about Snowball which he changes constantly

- He gaslights the other animals in believing that the changes he does to the rations or the contact with humankind are for the greater good

- He gives order to kill any traitors

Towards the end he and the other pigs stand up on their back limbs, similar to how we humans walk, referencing back to the earlier simplified version of the 7 commandments “Four legs good, two legs bad” as the pigs become like the humans at the start of the book.

The Animal Farm's name is changed back into its original name, which means that the pigs became what they once despised.

The different animals all represent different parts of society:

- the pigs are the people who exploit the poor and their hard work

- the dogs are the ways that dictators/tyrant use to put fear into the lower social classes

- the sheep are the people who fall for all the propaganda they see. Saying that someone is (like) a sheep means that they are all the same and follow everyone else like sheep do.

- all the other animals are the lower social classes

I would recommend this book as I think it shines light on the cruelty of dictatorships and how it can affect the lower classes.

(I didn't get to read the whole thing in class btw 💔)

With some anxieties quelled, I have a moment from episode 5 I haven't brought up about Jax that is 100% projection

Remember the bar segment where Jax kept making offhanded comments about Zooble's work?

My headcannon is Jax grew up somewhere unsafe for lgbtq people, somewhere that made it necessary to hide that you were "one of them 🤮" if you didn't want to have your life abruptly ended

Zooble couldn't figure out what the jab was supposed to be with the comment above. I have two reasons for why that might be. The first being, they're desensitized to Jax's behavior after dealing with it for so long. They're so used to Jax being a jerk that it's second-nature to assume malicious intent.

The second being, Zooble grew up somewhere a bit safer for queer folks. Somewhere that didn't require hiding who you are 24/7. The difference in life experience could be enough that they never had to learn "queer code" to survive

Personally, I see the bar segment as Jax attempting to connect to Zooble while trying not to out himself to everybody and having it fail spectacularly

The Duffers love to parallel Byler to romantic couples, because they're also gonna be a romantic couple

What verb is the right one help

So I'm currently re-watching Stranger Things with my cishet guy friend and he basically doesn't remember much from his first time watching the show so it's like he's watching it for the first time and we are about to finish season 3. (I have not told him about my Byler obsession mind you)

In season 2 he was weirded out how obsessed Mike was with Eleven, he's definitely not convinced that what they feel for each other is love. In his eyes it's obsession.

In season 3 he cringed every time Mileven kissed. After the rain fight when Mike biked across town to apologize to Will I pointed out that Max told El at the start of the episode: "He'll come crawling back to you in no time, begging for forgiveness." but he was doing exactly that for Will and not El. Then I randomly added (in a joking way bc I didn't think he'd agree or take it seriously) "Well, maybe he's actually in love with Will haha." And his response was: "Oh, Mike is gay. For sure." And I was like- no way you just said that, internally kicking my feet. Like he clocked Mike even before he clocked Will lmao. And in a later episode when Mike and Will were simply standing next to each other he randomly said: "What if Mike and Will end up together?"

Like I'm shook but that kind of restored my faith in the GA. Some of them actually get it.

I wish GA would stop watching the show with their eyes closed so they could actually see the obvious fucking parallels that show Mike's queerness and his relationship with Will.

First of all, there are insane amount of details put into this show to meticulously design every aspect of each character so nothing is a coincidence nor a reach.

Second of all, there are hours of proof why Mike Wheeler is queer, starting all the way back from season 1, but if i tried to explain everything it would be a whole series of novels so i'll just settle for this very obnoxiously loud piece of evidence.

Now the reason they created Vickie as a love interest might be because one, Robin deserves it duh, and two, so they can show how a canonically queer character's romantic arc plays out and compare it to another character in the series.

Here's the prize winning question for GA, who might that person be?

If you answered Will, you're pretty close! He's actually paralleling to Robin though, so not the answer we're looking for. But Robin's love interest Vickie parallels to Will's love interest, which would be Mike.

And this is where things get a little complicated for GA.

Because if you asked any viewer with a sane mind if there was a chance Vickie was queer and was interested in Robin because her relationship with her boyfriend wasn't working out very well (they weren't exactly in love), they would answer yes; because they have eyes.

But for some reason when it comes to Mike, suddenly he's the straightest guy to walk on earth and he loves his girlfriend very much even though he can't say or write it and there is no chance of him being queer and all of us are delusional blah blah blah.

Like are you not seeing this or are you ignoring it on purpose?

Obviously, there are nuances to the shots taken because the situations aren't exactly the same but that's why they are called parallels dear GA.

In both shots, the character featured in between and in the background of the couples is not an obstacle in their relationship. On the contrary, it shows that they have an important relation to the other character, that there is something more than just a one-sided tragic love story.

And we can confirm that it's not one-sided because after the first shot with Robin and Vickie, Robin's feelings gets reciprocated at the end of the last episode.

In the second scene Vickie starts complaining about her relationship, her ex-boyfriend, and then feels guilty for being irritated at something so insignificant but Robin reassures her about her insecurities.

Let's reel back a bit and think about what happened at the van scene... Mike complained about his relationship but felt guilty about it because it felt stupid to fuss over it and Will reassured him about his insecurities. That seems so familiar i just can't put my finger on it hmmm...

Both Vickie and Mike feel insecure in their past/current relationships, but they find comfort in their other love interests because they bring out their best sides.

In a way, Robin and Vickie's relationship is like a simplified version that of Will and Mike's. It indicates how Mike will break up with El in season 5 and slowly accept his feelings for Will.

I just hope GA can pull their heads out of their asses to take a look when it happens.

I have so many post ideas but the release of the first chapter of "Ouroboros" by @yesterdayoats on ao3 made me shift my priorities

At first I thought the title was complete gibberish but I decided to search it out of curiosity

I found out that Ouroboros is an actual thing

So what could this mean in the context of the fic?

Looking only at the tags there's some that I think are the reason of the title: deception, hurt/comfort, ccodependency.

By looking only at those tags, Arisu and Chishiya's relationship will be codependent with manipulation and deception. In this case, the Ouroboros symbolizes how their toxic codependency makes them destroy but also "re-create"/support each other. Their relationship will be mutually toxic but also with a side of support (hurt/comfort).

(All just my opinion)

It's like Mike and Will's POVs (respectively) in this scene but Will's seriously sucks I swear 😭

Anyways, they have meanings

There's a sort of pink atmosphere in Mike's POV, there are hearts all over and the normal colour of the image where Will's eye is. The shape of where the colours of the original photo are is a broken heart which is Will's POV in this situation. He's suppressing his feelings to encourage his best friend/love interest in his relationship with El.

Then there's Will's POV. The colour of the "atmosphere" is dark blue, because of his sadness and because of his suppressed feelings for Mike (that's why it's dark blue and not light blue).

As you can see there are multiple yellow hearts, the red effect on the hearts is just something the effect did but it could mean that he hurts himself making that speech.

The blue lines, which make the hearts cracked, are what Will thinks Mike's feelings are, he wouldn't accept him and would only break his heart.

Like in Mike's POV, on Mike's eye there's a shape that has the og photo's colours in it. The shape it's a heart.

It's a heart because (like in the introduction) he can't hide his feelings very well, while Will can and he has already given up so he doesn't see the way Mike looks at it.

I'm talking about some encounters I've experienced or seen because when you say something about Mike being queer, they reply to you asking for an explanation, which is fine, but when you provide them proof (aka you tell them to look at LesbianMindflayer's video about Mike's queercoding or another of their shorter videos about it) they just don't acknowledge you told them at all.

I am a gay Mike believer but if they reply with "Mike loves El" after providing where they can find proof, I'll tell them that bi people exist since they firmly believe that he loves her but then they reply that he's clearly straight???

"But he has a gf!" Shut up. El has always been JUST Mike's gf, in the show and also outside it. She should be able to discover herself on her own like she did in s3 at at the mall. She was able to discover her own style of clothes, which she didn't have before because of the control Hopper and Mike had over her. No hate to Hopper or Mike ofc, Hopper couldn't buy clothes for a teenage girl without raising suspicion.
