Some thoughts about Sebastian Debeste:

Sebastian can play the piano. It’s one of the few things his father couldn’t dissuade him from; it was the one thing that was always just for him. He hoarded sheet music like a guilty pleasure, and played whenever the house was empty.

Sebastian has always had a habit of conducting while talking. It doesn’t matter what’s in his hand - a pencil, a straw, a twig - anything nearby is at risk of being picked up swung around a bit. When Justine gets to know him better, she gives him a genuine conductor’s baton as a gift. He carries it everywhere; it’s the best gift he’s received in a long time.

He wondered about the grades. Nothing seemed to click the way it did for his classmates, and he passed anyway. He didn’t feel like he really understood what the teachers were talking about, and he passed anyway. A steady thread of anxiety hummed under everything he did, hand in hand with the worry in the back of his mind that if he questioned too much, his constructed happiness would fall apart.

He doesn’t go back to school. He takes correspondence courses and shadows Miles Edgeworth in court. He relearns everything he thought he knew; he takes the bar exam again, and when he walks out of the test, there’s a feeling of real accomplishment that’s unfamiliar and exhilarating. He doesn’t learn the way most people do - his needs are different, something about himself that he never had the chance to know before and would have buried in shame if he did. 

(He ignores that little hint of sadness Miles and Justine have behind their eyes when he explains the way he understands things now. They think he deserved better, and he did, but it’s too late for that. He has better now.)

Klavier really should have expected something like this.

What was it that his family used to say about him? Something about having the best luck about the worst things, he thought, and wasn’t that delightfully prophetic of them. His first case was the resounding success that collapsed the courts into the dark age of the law, his band gave him all of the fame he could ask for with decreasing returns on creative satisfaction, and his best friend of several years ago was standing in front of him in the hall on his first day back as a prosecutor.

His best friend who he had not spoken to since he left, and who was staring at him like he was a stranger. Klavier Gavin’s luck struck again.

He didn’t know why he was surprised. Nearly seven years was plenty of time for a new degree and a new badge no matter how devastating the setback had been at the time, and it would have been ridiculous to expect Sebastian Debeste to be anywhere else after the work he put in. Klavier knew that time didn’t stop for other people, just because he’d been gone - but it was a different feeling, confronted with the evidence that he’d missed things. He’d missed seven years of things, and in that moment it felt like a wholly unnecessary move.

Day 5 - memory/future of prosecutor week aka one of my big ones! considering that it’s in the 7 year gap, it technically counts for both prompts since it’s post-game sebastian and (mostly) pre-game klavier.

Anyway, I’ve been sitting on this for a while sort of almost-finished, but this week made me decide to actually put out the first chapter of this fic wherein I explore an idea of mine for how Sebastian comes to be a member of the gavinners. Extra big shoutout to @unnecessarygayfeelings for helping inspire a lot of this. The gavinners ocs boys in this really feel like our characters

My first time to try the gender bender AU and it's such a joy to draw this! Maybe I'll create more stuffs about this if you like it as I do?

thinking about some gender bender AU fluffs, Klav might be that kind of enerybody-loved pretty girl and tend to have many many exs. - which is untrue.

Seb would be a hard-working naive girl, lol:) one day Klav doubt her grade is fake and carry her own papers try to check Seb's, and Seb is juat like, starting to cry, first she just got her face blushed but then the tears fall uncontrollably and Klav is just like "Omg, I'm so so sorry it's all my fault plz forgive me..."

At first Seb think Klav would love some punk girl who's just like her, as everybody else. but Klav find this dumb girl exceedingly cute through a music club party, and they're like, dating(which Seb only realized after a long time...) Turns out Klav is actually such a gentle lover who would push back the wisps of Seb's hair that fall over her eyes, before kissing her.

pretty sure I'm going to write or draw something about this adorable AU!!

Though it's quite weird, I suddenly fall in love with gender-reversed Klavier...

I see no reason that this doesn't have a klavseb version!

so yeah... I'd draw it myself.

Klavbastian Headcanons

- Sebastian has been a closet Gavinners fan for years, so when he finally met Klavier he was so starstruck that he walked directly into a wall. Klavier, being the overall good dude that he is, goes over to help Sebastian up and Sebastian immediately starts talking about how much he loves Klav’s music in the most technical terms possible. Like, he talks about tempo and dynamics and discusses really complex music-theory stuff. Klavier is so happy to finally meet someone outside of the band who understands these things, so they wind up talking for hours during their first ever meeting. 

- Klavier has a few piercings, including a tongue-piercing. Sebastian is unaware of the tongue-piercing until he goes in for a kiss and realizes that, ‘wait a second…why does his mouth taste like metal?’ and freaks out. He thinks Klavier accidentally stabbed his tongue and is about to call an ambulance until Klavier explains that: no, he has not been stabbed in the tongue; yes, he is perfectly aware that there is metal in his tongue; and yes, kissing him with his piercing in might be a very bad idea. Sebastian thinks the fact that Klavier willingly got stabbed in the tongue and has had metal in there the whole time is SUPER HOT, and gets exceedingly flustered whenever the tongue-piercing makes an appearance. 

- Klavier keeps some of Sebastian’s stim toys in his own bag, just in case Sebastian forgets his own. He thinks that Sebastian is utterly adorable whenever he talks about music or a particularly interesting case and winds up playing with his conductor’s baton. This is really great for Sebastian, since he never saw his stims as anything outside of ‘weird’ or ‘another sign that he’s an idiot’. But Klavier really likes it when Sebastian happy-stims, it means that his boyfriend is happy + it’s really fucking cute, and never shames him for doing so. 

- They write songs together! Sebastian plays the piano and prefers to write music, while Klavier plays guitar and sings. They collaborate on the lyrics and Klavier preforms some of their songs when he eventually strikes out on a solo career. 

- Klavier is fit as hell and Sebastian tries to go to the gym with him one day. It goes predictably poorly, since Sebastian tries to go too hard too fast and winds up exhausting himself within the first few minutes. They both come out on top in the end, though, because Sebastian gets to watch Klavier work out and Klavier has an excuse to carry his boyfriend out of the gym bridal-style. 

- This is Sebastian’s first relationship so he asks a few of his friends/co-workers for dating advice. He ends up combining these in the most outlandish way possible: sunglasses and leather for a movie date, ice-cream on the beach at 10:00 PM, and a dramatic love confession…at a Denny’s. Sometimes these are hidden gems (turns out that getting in a suit and teaching your boyfriend how to waltz in your small bedroom is surprisingly romantic) and sometimes they are horrendous (the squirrels have invaded the theatre everyone please evacuate). But even the worst ones have their own reward: Klavier’s genuine, holy-crap-I’m-dying laugh. It’s one of Sebastian’s favorite sounds.
