my marauders hot takes:
- fav romantic ships are prongsfoot, jily, jilypad, quillkiller, and marylene
- i dont think james would hate sirius after the prank
- remus is the last person to be a casanova (that was james, sirius, and mary)
- i looove the characterization of the marauders as the best friendship quad ever but we forget it was described in the books as “james + sirius… and their two side kicks” (obv they still became animagi for remus so he was very close to them, but sirius and james were always the main duo)
- i dont believe in “young peter was a different person,” he was always a coward that gravitated towards the most powerful person (in hogwarts that was james/sirius’ popularity, in the war that was voldemort)
- remus was not the smartest marauder (in their year the smartest students were sirius, james, and lily)
- ik it birthed the fandom, but i dont really like wolfstar that much
sirius would fall first for james - the second he sees his bright sunshine smile with a big front tooth gap he’d be smitten blushing red and getting hearts in his eyes
james would realise he has a crush on sirius the first time sirius opens up about how cruel his mother is and how worried he is about leaving reggie at home alone all year like that - he’d hold onto sirius and want to protect him with every fibre in his body
they’re both first years, eleven and twelve when they get their crushes.
they’re both third years, awkward teenagers with voices that crack and an abnormal amount of body hair they freak out about together, when they realise they’re in love with the other.
it’s not till they’re twenty one, and sirius is cradling james’ lifeless body that he tells him he’s the only person sirius has ever loved

no one asked me to explain this but i want to
plato has a quote “opinion is the medium between knowledge and ignorance”
in the pilot episode, misty receives a prank call from some girls accusing her of doing anal, to which she responds quoting plato. or rather, misquoting plato
she says “opinion is the WILDERNESS between knowledge and ignorance”
i see this as intentional on the writers part since the word “wilderness” holds a lot of weight in the yellowjackets universe. the girls use “wilderness” to refer to the force/deity they encounter in the wild and blame for all the sinister things that take place/that they do
many people theorize whether or not the “wilderness” is supernatural or if it is a figment of the girls imagination that they use to cope with what happened in the canadian rockies
i argue that the show will never reveal the answer. the question itself is the main theme of the show, and the writers toy with us using plausible deniability with any supernatural event (lottie’s schizophrenia, tai’s genetic mental health issue (??), etc.)
i believe this because of the aforementioned misty line; the writers told us plainly that this “wilderness” the girls believe in is a result of the blind spot between ignorance and knowledge about what is really going on
we will never know if the “wilderness” is real or not, because the only thing that is real is that the yellowjackets did what they had to do to survive and now they have to live with it
i want to give the Yellowjackets writers kudos for dropping the line “opinion is the wilderness between knowledge and ignorance” in the pilot episode
and i want to send my condolences that it has gone so far unnoticed

but its also a community
hearing someone you admire claim themselves as part of it feels soooo good
i love that were getting to a point where coming out is desuetude and gay ppl can just exist but its nice to hear the pride and outright claiming of the label
