They’re loud in the living room.
Hinata, curled happily with a bag of chips on the floor, adjacent to Bokuto and Atsumu sat sprawled out on the couch, while Kiyoomi was as collected as could be on the free cushion, hands folded in his lap with his elbows on his knees as his dark eyes followed the plays on screen. You watch as they cheer and hoot at the saves and spikes, groaning when one team scores and cheering when theirs does.
It’s a scene that you’d love to see over and over again.
It’s also a scene you love to mess the serenity of.
“Sakusa,” you call from your perch in the doorway, and immediately, all heads whip to you. Kiyoomi tenses up, Atsumu sits up straight and Bokuto blinks owlishly, and from the floor, Hinata’s head cocks to the side in interest. “Can you come here for a sec?”
Childishly, the other three men offer him a collective “oooo,” to which your boyfriend scowls at. He quickly gets onto his feet and makes his way into the kitchen with you, panic on his features.
“Is everything okay?” He asks.
You nod, “yes. Can you reach that bowl up there?”
Immediately, Kiyoomi reaches up and grabs the bowl on the high shelf, bringing it down before cradling it to his chest, “I put this bowl here; is that why you’re mad?”
“I’m not mad,” you say simply.
“You called me Sakusa,” he pouts in fear. “You don’t call me sakusa. They do.”
“But that’s your name?”
“Not to you,” he says. “No, no- you call me the utmost feral things you can call someone, yet now you want to be formal, I don’t like that. What did I do?”
“You didn’t do anything, just give me the bowl,” you say, finding slight amusement at this charade. He winces and slowly passes you the bowl, but when you open your mouth to thank him, he immediately wraps his arms around you and pulls you in for a kiss, the bowl pressing between you. You merely giggle as he pulls back to sponge kisses on your face.
“I’m sorry,” he says between kisses. “Tell me what I did wrong.” He follows with another kiss. “I never want to make you mad.” Kiss. “I love you.” Kiss. “I love you I love you I love you-“
“Okay!” You giggle. “I know you do!”
“Say it back,” he grumbles.
You roll your eyes and cup his cheeks, making him look at you while you press a kiss to the tip of his nose. “I love you. I promise I’m not mad.”
“You’re not? You’re sure?”
“I was messing with you, my love,” you snort. Then, you nod towards the door, “you guys can’t be the only ones having fun tonight. I have to keep you on your toes.” You gently poke his stomach, grinning as he yelps and moves away. When your eyes flick to the doorway, there’s three curious heads watching the scene unfold. Two of them watch happily- the blonde one looks more than mischievous as he absorbs this new level of blackmail.
You smile and kiss his cheek, “go, watch your game with the boys. I’ll be in the bedroom.”
“Okay,” he sighs, voice much lighter than moments before. You watch as all three heads dash from the doorway to go back to the couch, swift to avoid Kiyoomi’s wrath. “I love you.” He takes a step back, “love you. I love you!” He makes his way to the threshold, “I love you!”
“I love you too,” you chuckle back.
“I love you twice as much!”
“GOD, YOU HAVE GUESTS OVER!” Atsumu gags.
“You’re just bitter because you can’t get a text back,” Kiyoomi hisses, and you can’t help but laugh at the switch from baby voice to stern, firm voice. He flashes you a wink before making his way back to the couch, and when you peek out at the furniture again, he’s in a headlock by Bokuto, his hair being ruffled in a way you know he’s going to complain about later.
Half heartedly, of course.
thinking about how Eddie would love on you like no man has ever done before
thinking how he would say sorry for things he didn't even do wrong and you have to remind him that he is not always at fault
thinking how he would act in public with you, showing you off, kissing your hand, and even with friends with his arm around your shoulders
thinking how he would be loving when intimate, but also dominant and possessive if the night is right for it
thinking how he would be excited to move on from his past story to start anew with you
thinking how happy he would be by you just baking some cookies in the kitchen
thinking how grateful he is for having you in his life
thinking how he never thought he'd find someone at all, and yet there you were
thinking how he would risk everything for you, without asking for anything back
and the thing is, and he doesn't know, that you think, do and would do everything that was said above.
"cold feet (literally)" - spencer reid x fem!reader
you wake up in the middle of the night to get a pair of socks
wc: 1k
cw: reader is described as wearing a bra, sickeningly sweet fluff, two idiots in love
Spencer keeps his apartment climate-controlled at a brisk sixty-eight degrees Fahrenheit. He likes to be cold, he says, and you generally don’t mind. You run hot anyway, so if, on the off chance you do get cold when you’re lounging around on his couch or perusing his bookshelves, you grab one of the throw blankets Garcia’s knitted for him and wrap it around your shoulders.
Tonight is different, in that you were not planning on sleeping over. Your relationship with Spencer works so well, in your opinion, because you both like to be independent, so rather than be with each other every moment of every day that he’s home, you orbit around each other like planets. You spend many evenings over at his place, and he spends just as many as yours, but eventually, the other person goes home.
Not that you didn’t like sleeping in the same bed as Spencer, of course, but the relationship was still fresh, and you both liked that you were taking things slow. Tonight, however, you started a movie with him rather late, and by the time it was over, you were bleary-eyed and your bones felt laden. Spencer was more than willing to offer you the empty side of his bed for the night.
You arrived in sweatpants and a t-shirt, so you just took your bra off and laid down. Spencer splurged on a fancy orthopedic mattress, so you somehow both sunk into it and rested on top of it like a glass on a table. It was insanely comfortable, and both you and Spencer really were wiped out, so you went right to sleep.
When your eyes flutter open a few hours, you’re laying on your side. The first thing you notice is that the room is not completely dark. No, in fact, there’s a stream of moonlight, or maybe a street lamp outside, creeping in through the curtains, casting a soft, gray-filtered glow over the room.
You feel Spencer’s hand loosely on your hip, and his knee resting lightly against the back of your thigh. Your immediate reaction is not to move for fear of waking him, but your feet are icicles. The air around you is cold, too, but the blankets remedy that. You just need socks.
I am molasses, you coach yourself, moving languidly and carefully to rise into a sitting position. However, you lack the FBI stealth training needed to rise out of bed without waking your boyfriend, because when you look over your shoulder, his eyes are very clearly open.
There’s a tired yet playful little smirk as he sits up, leaning against the headboard. “Sneaking out already?” he asks, his voice still rich and thick with sleep, and you suddenly wish you’re able to see him like this more often. Maybe this whole going home to go to sleep thing is simply for the birds.
“No, of course not,” you laugh softly. The mattress creaks as you finally stand up, your bare toes spreading against the soft carpet. As you pad over to his dresser, you shoot him a performative smile over your shoulder. “My feet are just freezing.”
“Do you want me to adjust the thermostat?” Spencer asks immediately, shifting the blankets off of him so he can, presumably, get out of the bed.
“No, no, it’s okay,” you insist, holding up your hand. He stops in his place. “It’s just my feet, Spence,” you assure him. The cherry wood creaks when you tug the top drawer open, plucking the first pair of socks you see out off the top.
Spencer’s mismatched socks are meticulously organized in their correct pairs, as it turns out. You smile to yourself when you realize this means he takes the time each day to couple up an incorrect pair of socks before putting them on his feet.
You select a pair of purple ones with little kiwi fruits printed on them, affection for the ridiculous man in bed behind you bubbling up in your chest, making it feel as if it’s filled with helium. Like you could float up to the ceiling at any moment.
You’re still smiling stupidly as you perch yourself on the edge of the bed. You slide his socks over your bare feet, wiggling your toes around for a moment. “Why are you smiling, angel?” Spencer’s asking curiously, and you feel his foot nudge your back.
You lie back down in the bed, shaking your head softly as you lay on your side and place your head against Spencer’s chest. He takes a second to adjust, slinking down so he’s lying flat on his back, then he tugs you a little closer.
Your cheek rubs against the soft, worn fabric of his t-shirt. You place your palm down against his flat tummy, and consequently feel his chin press into the top of your head. “What is it?” he asks again.
“I just think you’re the bee’s knees, that’s all,” you say softly, earning a small chirp of a laugh from your boyfriend.
“The bee’s knees, huh?” he rakes his fingers through your hair slowly. The action is lulling you like straight melatonin, making you even more tired. “Did you know that phrase actually used to mean something small and insignificant? Over time it developed to refer to something or someone that is greatly admired.”
You close your eyes, your body relaxing against him as he speaks. “Do bees even have knees?” you ask through a yawn.
“Technically speaking, no,” Spencer brushes his thumb along your temple, then across the top of your ear, as if he is charting all the smooth parts of you. “But they do have a ball-and-socket joint between their leg segments, which allows them the flexibility to move their little legs around. So when they dance to show their hive mates where the good honey is, they move their legs around.” He laughs softly at this notion, and you feel your weight sink into the mattress.
“You make me want to dance,” you whisper, smiling with closed eyes against his chest. “So, you’re the bee’s knees.”
Spencer hums fondly in response to this, then kisses your forehead. “That’s kind of a reach, angel,” he says. “But I think you’re the cat’s pajamas, so who am I to judge?”
when you and bestfriend!eddie finally start dating, he’s so eager to kiss and hold and dote on you every chance he gets.
like pressing a kiss to your cheek while you wait in line at the store, resting an arm around your waist while you laugh with your friends at lunch, staring in adoration as you go on about the latest documentary you binged, kissing you sweet before closing the passenger door, pulling you in for hugs and telling you some of the sweet thoughts he has about you when you find yourselves alone, coming over to do nothing but be in the same room while you both work on your own things, he’ll give your hand an occasional squeeze just to remind you that he’s there.
greeting you with a bunch of handpicked flowers when he picks you up, guiding you to snuggle up under his chin while you watch a movie, caging you against the wall when you voice an insecurity- assuring you there’s nothing you need to feel that way about. picking you up when you pout at him and playfully tossing you onto his bed to tickle and smother you in kisses until you’re squirming and giggling, absolutely begging for a break.
lighting little candles in his room he bought just to make it extra cozy for when you stay the night, grazing his fingertips across your scalp while you nap on his chest - you feel the lightest press of his lips on your skin every few minutes.
the list goes on - he’s waited so long to be able to do those things with you, and if he knows anything for sure, it’s that he’ll never again waste anymore time.
“you’ll always be my best friend, but i’m so glad you’re finally my girl, too,” he whispers before you finally doze off.
Eddie imagine:
Imagine Eddie writing into every D&D campaign, a character that falls in love with your character. Or npc couples that are exactly like the two of you. You ask him one day why he does this. He just answered so casually like it was common knowledge, “because I’ll love you in every universe, time, and everything in between.”
nanami kento, who hates dating, and didn’t do much of it in his early twenties. but now, he’s almost thirty, watching all the people he works with settle down, have kids, and he thinks he wants that. so he might as well try.
so satoru sets him up on a few dates — friends of friends, he calls them. and at the end of every one of the dinners, kento goes home empty, exhausted, because he knows what they want is not the same.
still; he thinks maybe he’s being a little self-destructive, maybe too picky, maybe he just got so used to being alone. with satoru’s insistence, he gives all the women another call, invites them over to his apartment.
the first time was a disaster… kento had barely set the dinner on the table before his cat had hissed at her, scratched her down the arm in a thin gash. and though it did draw blood, it was hardly enough to warrant that reaction.
he didn’t even try to stop her as she picked up her bag and left, huffing like she’d been morally offend. kento, though, could only smile to himself in amusement.
because maybe kento was a poor judge of character, a man who was secretly hoping nothing would pan out — but his cat could certainly tell the good from the bad.
it became a little game to him, after that. seeing if anyone could win his pet over, and if they could, perhaps they were the one. his darling animal was a fickle thing anyway. a bit too defensive, quick to bite anything threatening after years on the streets.
naturally, no one came back twice.
he was close to giving up, accepting his solitude because he was tired of empty conversations over dinner. but then, he ventured out over the weekend to a new coffee shop, during hours he normally didn’t spend out of his home, and met you.
though you only talked for a moment, kento felt like maybe he’d known you in a past life. a part of him thought maybe it was strange, the way he kept coming back to talk to you, catching you at the end of your shift to see if you wanted to grab a coffee sometime.
by the second date, kento started to think you could turn out to be his best friend.
by the third date, kento wondered if soulmates were real.
on the fourth date, almost two months later, an appropriate time to get to know someone when you were as reserved as kento, he invited you over for dinner. it was, perhaps, the final confirmation he needed to let himself be with you.
he let you through the door, smiling softly as you told him about the book you were reading, and hung his coat on the rack. a moment later, you stopped, distracted, hands covering your mouth in a gasp.
“kento! she’s the cutest cat i’ve ever seen, you didn’t even show me pictures!” you exclaim, and, a few feet away, crouched down. “look at her pretty eyes…”
“careful,” kento said, “she’s not very—“
but the cat approached your outstretched hand, sniffed once, before letting you scratch her under her chin, purring loud enough for kento to hear across the room.
“shes such a sweetheart, you told me she was mean!” you smiled, making a cooing noise as you threaded your fingers through her fur. “kento’s a liar, isn’t he… you’re so precious.”
a few moments later, she snapped her jaw at you in a biting motion, and you only laughed, withdrawing your hand. “alright, i get it, i won’t bother you anymore.”
though she still brushed against your legs, just as she did kento’s, and seemed to communicate some sort of message to him.
“do you want any help cooking?” you ask, tucking your hair behind your ears. “i’m a disaster in the kitchen, but—“
“sure,” kento said, his chest tightening as he blinked back at you, only in his apartment for minutes and already looking as at home there. he wondered if it was possible to fall in love so quickly. “but only if you want to.”

when eddie first met you, he was at the lowest point of his life. trapped inside the four dark walls of his mind with seemingly no way out and eventually he stopped looking for an escape. he accepted his fate and got comfortable in his somber solitude. too exhausted to keep on searching for the door’s knob that could get him out.
it wasn’t until you came in that he noticed there were cracks in the walls. he only saw them because your light broke through in a cervice and beamed inside, illuminating the familiar gloom in which he existed.
it was harsh at first. too much light had put him at such unease since he had grown used to the darkness but you were gentle and you were patient. you didn’t barge in, demanding for him to come out and let you burn his eyes with shine. you waited for him to tear the walls he built down by himself, one by one, brick by brick until the both of you were standing on the same side. having your moment underneath the warm sun, except his sunshine was different than yours.
his sunshine was a person.
that’s why he called you ray.
also because he felt like 'sunny' was too on the nose, even for him.
for eight months into your relationship, you’ve seen each other almost everyday. no how hectic and different your schedules get, you always made time for each other. at least for a five minute phone call at the end of the night.
two days in a row, you haven’t picked up the phone and eddie was going crazy but he didn’t want to pressure you, didn’t want to be overbearing. he wanted to give you space, be a cool boyfriend, not too 'overly clingy' as his friends once called him. he tried to be patient. truly did, but by the third day he couldn’t take your radio silence anymore so he showed up to your place.
loud knocks at the door woke you up from your half-sleep, half-closing-my-eyes-to-make-the-world-go-away state that you’ve been in for the last three days.
removing the blanket off your body felt like a chore and the bones of your spine cracked one by one as you sat up on the couch. your bed long abandoned in your room, it became too uncomfortable to sleep in with all the crumbs in it.
sighing, you brought yourself up to your feet and made your way to the door, not even bothering to ask who’s behind it before opening it.
if it’s a serial killer.. well, at least they were nice enough to knock before murdering you.
you wished it was a serial killer when you saw who’s behind the door.
“hi eds.” you fake a smile, trying to make it look as genuine as possible, hoping the dread of him seeing you like this is hidden behind your teeth.
“what’s wrong? where have you been?” he asks, his eyes scanning you up and down, taking in the state of you.
“nothing i’m fine, i’m sorry i haven’t been answering your calls. i’ve been..” fake cough, “sick.” his hands fly to your face, touching your cheeks and forehead to check your temperature and it feels normal. “i’m better now!” you lie again but he doesn’t buy it.
frowning, “let me in.” he says.
you look besides you at the disarray of your apartment hidden behind the door, shame creeps into you at how you’ve let the place get like this. “the place is a mess and i don’t want you to get sick t..” you don’t get to finish your sentence behind he waltz in, “eddie!”
“jesus christ..” he utters as he takes in the state of the living room. the stacks of pillows and blankets on the couch, the empty packets of snacks on the floor, all of the mugs and cups from your kitchen lined up on the coffee table with dried god knows what liquid inside them but nothing catches his attention like your curtains.
they’re shut.
you never shut your curtains.
he vividly remembers you telling him that you love having your curtains and windows open, that you love the breeze that comes in and the natural light.
“i told you, it’s a mess.” you say sheepishly, crossing your arms over your chest after you shut the door.
eddie’s eyes fall upon you in your pajama pants and the tshirt you stole from his closet a few weeks ago, “baby..” his voice is soft, he tries to mirror the way you used to be with him when he was the one with the shut curtains. he knows what it’s like to be in your state but this is his first time being in your shoes, “how long has this been going on?”
giving up on keeping the façade up in front of him, you sit down on the couch where you were laying minutes ago. “always.” your eyes don’t meet his, instead you focus on playing with your fingernails, “i’m usually good at keeping things at bay, shoving it down and pretending all is good and happy and life is all rainbows and sparkles but i’ve been kind of all over the place lately.” you gesture to the mess in the living room with your head.
eddie takes careful steps towards you, sitting on his knees by your legs, his hands find yours and he holds them tenderly rubbing his thumb on your knuckles. “why didn’t you talk to me?”
“i didn’t want to disappoint you.” you say, your voice low. “i know you think of me as your light and i was scared that if you saw me like this, you’d retrogress and you’ve been doing so good eds, i couldn’t burden you with this.” his heart shatters at your words. always selfless, always giving. even at your worst, you thought of him first. “it’s stupid anyway, i’ll get my shit together. i always do, i just need some time.”
“was i a burden to you?” eddie asks and your eyes finally meet his, widened and in disbelief.
“what? no eddie never.” you tell him truthfully.
“then what makes you think you’d be a burden to me?”
you frown, you see his point but still. “i just thought.. you have so much on your plate already.”
“and so did you when you came into my life.”
“it’s different!”
“how is it different?” he says with no judgment in his voice. he just wants to know where your mind is at.
biting your lip, you answer, “i wanted to be there for you. i wanted to help in anyway you’d let me. i wanted to do that then.”
“and i want to do it now.” he says delicately. “i want to be here for you.” he brings your hands to his lips and plants soft kisses on each one of them. “i want you to let me be here with you.”
“baby.. i love you.” his honeyed eyes peer into yours with undeniable sincerity and you mumble, ‘i love you too.’ before he continues, “i’m not gonna force you to get better this second or hold you and scream ‘life is good just take a look around!’ in your face. i’m not gonna make you a therapy appointment first thing in the morning and i’m not gonna force pills down your throat like some kind of a crazy maniac doctor.” he chuckles, trying to lighten the mood and his heart flutters when he sees a glimpse of a smile on your face.
“but i’m not gonna let you go through this by yourself.” he shake his head, “so don’t waste your energy trying to get rid of me because i’m one stubborn hell of a bitch and it’s not gonna happen.” you pull your hand from his grasp to wipe a tear, you don’t even know why you’re crying but these days you don’t seem to know a lot of things. “come here.” he pulls you down into his lap and wraps his arms around you, holding you tight and secure in his embrace.
you let yourself sob on his shoulder for a few seconds, “i stink.”
“you smell better than i do after a day at the autoshop.” he jokes and you laugh through your cries, wetting his shirt, both the one he’s wearing and the one you’re wearing. “i want you to ask me for help. i want to help you however you’d let me. i want to be here.” he says, kissing your shoulder, “you’re not a burden. you’re my baby, you’re my sunlight.”
“even now?” your voice is tired, almost as tired as your soul.
“especially now.” he says, no hesitation in his tone. “will you let me be here for you, ray?” you nod, resting your head against his chest. his heartbeats calm your precarious mind, putting an end to the constant flow of vitriolic thoughts. “i love you.”
you stayed like that for what feels like hours. eddie holding and running a soothing hand up and down your body while you breathed him in, taking in his presence and his words.
“eds?” you whisper his nickname and he immediately grants you his undivided attention.
“umm?”
“do you mind helping me shower?”
a smile is drawn on his face, this is progress, he thinks as he says, “not at all. come on.”
he helps you up and walks with you to the bathroom then he pulls his shirt and jeans off his body, staying in just his boxers before helping you strip your own clothes off.
you feel comfortable standing naked in front of him, he makes you feel safe enough to be vulnerable.
he turns the tap on and makes sure the water is more warm than cold before instructing you to stand underneath it.
the water feels good on your skin, you missed having it engulfing you like this.
he sees you reaching for the soap and your washcloth, “hey hey, let me.” taking them off your hands, he makes a foam and start washing your body for you. all the way from your shoulders and underneath your arms and boobs, down your back before he squats down to wash your legs, you blush as he carefully cleans between your thighs, his eyes squinted and his tongue is peeking out in concentration. he looks adorable.
“all done. now turn around for me please.” he says as he gets the shampoo and pours some into his hand before gently shampooing your hair, detangling it and rubbing your scalp with his fingers.
“feels good?”
you moan as a response and he giggles, “close your eyes, lean back.” you do as he asks, “yeah just like that.” he keeps massaging your head for much longer than necessary but you don’t mind it, it feels nice to be taken care of like that.
finally, he washes your face and once the water starts to get chilly, he pulls you out of the shower and into your bathrobe, “i love you eds.” you tell him, standing at the sink in front of the mirror while he puts toothpaste on your toothbrush.
he smiles, “open up.” you open and let him brush your teeth for you, “i love you too, now spit.”
“this is the first time you tell me to spit.” you joke as you’re foaming at the mouth, literally.
he laughs and slaps your butt on his way out of the bathroom, “come on ray, let’s get you dressed and get some real food, i’m starving.”
you take a second to stare at yourself in the mirror. you’re starting to recognize yourself a little more. still not to the point where you can comfortably say this is who i am and i like who i am but...
“umm ray, i think there's a decapitated cockroach in one of the cups…” eddie yells from your living room, you can hear him picking up the trash and tidying up the space. “nevermind! it’s just boba!”
... you know that one day, guided by the cracks of sunlight beaming from your silly boy, you’ll get there and he’ll be right there with you.

synopsis: eddie’s insecurities always make him question whether or not he really deserves you, but he knows he can count on you to continuously prove him wrong.
warnings: mentions of insecurities in terms of looks & relationship dynamics, few swear words, fem!reader in mind, reader has a mom, dad & little sister, established relationship, lil heated moments
note: inspired by role model’s song “scumbag” (if you haven’t listened to his latest album “kansas anymore” go do it!!!)
“i’m a train wreck, i’m a cigarette. i’m the side that no one’s rooting for. but you stand by me.”
“eds? did you hear me?”.
quickly blinking his eyes, eddie took in his surroundings & came back to reality. pressing a faint kiss to your hair, he nodded his head.
you both were having a movie night at his trailer with blankets & popcorn on his couch. you both weren’t super picky, so the random cable channel playing horror movies did the trick.
“sorry—zoned out. what were you saying, baby?” he tried to recover from his mere moment of weakness, his arm tightening around your shoulders to pull you closer to his chest.
“i was just wondering…” you teetered, “would you wanna come over tomorrow?” you nerves were taking over now that his attention was fully on you.
“it’s my little sister’s birthday & my parents are doing a barbecue to celebrate—it’s okay if you don’t wanna come, i get it,” you started to ramble, fiddling with the material of eddie’s shirt you wore.
“i just thought it’d be nice for you to meet my family, y’know? b-but you can totally say no—it’s not a big deal” you assured him, but you secretly hoped he’d say yes.
when eddie didn’t answer immediately, you lifted your head from his chest to get a better view of his face, seeing a look of uncertainty on his features. it made you worry if asking this was too much.
“you want me to your family? a-are you sure?”
nodding your head quick, your hand rose up to rest on his cheek, thumb smoothing over his skin. “i’m sure,” you smiled once you saw eddie’s face soften, his doe eyes twinkling under the living room lamps.
“you’re my favourite person, eddie. plus, my mom has been dying to meet you since our first date” your cheeks felt warm at that little omission, & you could see a pink hue bloom on eddie’s.
pressing a kiss to the palm of your hand, eddie pushed aside his insecurities for a moment. “okay,” he exhaled, “i’d love to come over”.
pushing yourself up on the couch cushions to thank him with a kiss, eddie’s hands tightened on your waist, sighing into your mouth the longer your lips were locked to his.
“by the way,” he pecked the corner of your mouth. “you’re my favourite too”.
**~*~*~~*~**~*~~*~*~**~**~*~~*~*
tomorrow had come & eddie was freaking the hell out.
his room had become a larger mess than it usually was, turning into a something that looked like a hurricane with all the clothes thrown everywhere & on everything. all morning, he had tried finding the perfect outfit to wear that would be acceptable in the eyes of your parents, but nothing seemed to work.
so for the last ten minutes, he sat against the edge of his bed with his fingers tangled in his lion’s mane, eyes pinched & breath heavy in frustration.
at least, that was until his landline phone began to ring.
“hello?” he spoke into the mic, voice dropping with defeat.
“eds? what’s wrong?” your voice was concerned, only causing eddie’s breath to hitch.
“nothing baby, it’s all good”.
you scoffed. “sure don’t sound like it”.
rolling his eyes playfully, he fully laid out on his bed, back growing uncomfortable from all the clothes sprawled across it.
“are you gonna tell me what’s wrong or continue to mope about it?” you chided, only making him sigh.
“i have nothing good to wear”. the statement made him seem pathetic in his eyes.
tilting your head (you knew he could tell your movements), you couldn’t help but have a small smirk on your face while you twisted the phone cord between your fingers.
“now i don’t believe that, baby” now you heard him scoff.
“your parents are gonna think i’m a freak—everybody does. i-i can’t help it”. he spoke softer now, insecurities flowing out of him & overtaking his being because he didn’t want to be made a fool out of.
he wouldn’t be able to survive knowing your family doesn’t approve of him.
& your heart drops at the mere thought of it.
“eddie,” you spoke, trying to reel him back in from the negative parts of his mind. “no one is going to think you’re a freak—you’re so much more than that stupid label”.
he continued to stare up at the client as you spoke, his chest growing heavy with anxiety.
“they’re going to love you because you’re kind, have good humour, extremely helpful, caring, handsome,” you could hear him let out a huff at the last word.
“… & because i love you”.
you both haven’t said those three words yet since you started dating a few months ago. so, now was the first time.
“y-you what?”
fear overtook you now, your heartbeat loud in your ears. did i say it too early you thought to yourself.
“i-i love you, eddie. i hope that’s okay” oh shit.
eddie almost dropped the phone from his hand, still somehow in shock that someone like you loved someone like him. he’s been known as trailer trash, a freak, a thrown out cigarette, a scumbag, a stain on the so called beauty of hawkins—he’s been torn down for too long.
but by the grace of god (or some other being or universe or whatever), you saw past all the tarnished scuffs on him.
it’s something he still can’t fully understand.
“eddie, i-i’m sorry if i just fucked everything—“
“i love you too. sorry it took me so long to say it”
his words took you by surprise, & you couldn’t help but laugh happily into the receiver.
“you don’t have to be sorry, you just have to come over & kiss me to seal the deal” you bit your lip at your coyness, hoping it’d be enough for him to pull through.
“i’ll see you in thirty, sweetheart” eddie said before ending the call, leaving you with a fluttering feeling in your chest. your head bumped into your pillow in a lovestruck haze, cheeks hurting from how hard were smiling.
you were so in love with that man.
**~~*~*~**~***~*~~**~*~**~*~*
you waited at the front door while the party festivities took place in the backyard, hearing your mom yell that the food was almost ready from the back door. you tapped your sandal clad foot eagerly, anxious for when the doorbell would finally ring.
& it hit you like bricks when it chimed in your ears.
your hand (which was slightly clammy from nerves) held the doorknob, twisting it slowly until the door was open & your lovely boy was in view.
he dressed in casual attire consisting of a dark red t-shirt, dark blue jeans, & a new pair of sneakers he got with steve the other day. he still wore his rings & guitar pick necklace, dawning those pearly whites of his with a grin when he saw you.
his hands were full, holding onto things with a claw like grip. in one, he held three small bouquets of flowers from the supermarket & his van keys. the other held a purple gift bag stuffed with white glittery tissue paper, the specks of glitter shining brightly in the mid afternoon sunlight.
“hey, baby” he said with a pep in his step, eying you up & down. you could tell he was still nervous, but he was trying his best to keep cool.
without missing a beat, your hands flew up to his face & you kissed him hard, taking him by surprise on your front door step. but who could blame you for doing such a thing after you both confessed your love over the phone?
“you’re gonna,” *kiss* “make me” *kiss* “drop everything”, he huffed, laughing into your lips when you refused to pull away initially.
“sorry,” you heaved. “just love you so much is all” you grinned harder at eddie’s flushed face.
“lemme put everything down & give you a proper one, yeah?”
you agreed, helping him inside your home for the first time, giving him a quick tour of the main floor as you headed to the kitchen to put the flowers in some water.
“my mom is a gonna get all sappy knowing you got us all flowers—thank you by the way” you pecked his cheek with a pop as you placed the flowers into three different vases.
placing the gift bag on the counter, eddie just shrugged nonchalantly. “well, it’s just what a gentleman does” he said, smirking when you smiled at him.
“yeah,” you made your way over to him, hands playing with the hair at the nape of his neck, chest pressing into his as his cold ring clad hands held your waist, squeezing it every few seconds.
“you really are the best” you leaned closer to him, lips just about to brush his.
“hmm, is that right?” his breath fanned your face, smelling like spearmint gum.
you could only nod, unable to resist the space anymore until he made the final dip forward, capturing your lips in his for a proper kiss where he could hold you close. it was slow, saying all the things you both wanted to say, while being sweet & soft & rewarding all at the same time.
“i love you” he breathed into your mouth, his thumbs fiddling with the smocked material on the lower back of your dress, being careful not to let them drift too low in case someone in your family caught him—& god forbid it’d be your father.
“i love you too” you murmured, pulling apart to laugh & smile & take all of him in like this.
you took a mental screenshot of him, safely storing it away in your brain’s memory box for later.
“so,” you patted his chest. “ready to meet everyone?” you asked, wiping away some of your lipgloss from his bottom lip while he sweetly tucked some of your hair behind your ear, fingers brushing over your earrings with a smile (because you’re wearing the ones he bought you).
eddie thought you tasted just as sweet as you looked.
“yeah,” he interlocked your fingers with his own, squeezing three times “now i am”.
“i’m a scumbag, i’m a scumbag (but you stand by me)”.
thinking about sitting on kakyoin's lap while he's playing a game. you're settled on his thighs, arms wrapped around his neck while your head rests in the crook. he's distracted when you begin to fall asleep against his chest. red faced and fingers nervously shaking, he finishes his game, just barely winning, and then shakes your shoulder. you only groan at his gentle gesture, half asleep but fully groggy. he chuckles before scooping you up, face entirely flushed when your legs cling to his waist. kakyoin tucks you into bed, ready to head back to his computer when you grasp his fingers. his heart melts at your slow reaction time due to your sleepiness but how you still caught his hand. kakyoin will settle into the bed with you, cuddling you as you drift off again in his warm, secure arms against his sturdy, comforting chest

Eddie Munson loves it when you play with his hands.
The feeling of your warm skin against the coldness of his makes him shudder with a certain desperation every single time. He made sure to keep your hand in his to keep being your fidget toy.
You caress and bend his fingers at your will and he smiles at you in adoration, the kind of loving look you see in movies. You trace his veins sometimes letting the journey of your fingertips lead you to his shoulders and trace around the lightly freckled skin there, again it makes him shudder, he shivers in a way only you can make him.
When you travel your way back to his hand you let yourself press your thumbs into his calloused palm and he groans, you snap your head up to his letting your wide eyes catch his brown ones and he offers you a smile letting you know to continue.
He nods off feeling an undeniable comfort.
Eddie loves when you play with his hands.
Or maybe Eddie just loves you.
PET - RYOMEN SUKUNA
“What the fuck is that?”
You tilted your head, not knowing what your boyfriend was referring to. His face looked distressed and it was starting to worry you.
“Huh? What is what?” You asked.
“That ginormous filthy rat in your hands,” Ryomen panicked and took the animal from you.
“Ryo, be careful!”
“Begone you disgusting vermin!” He dropped it and opened the door, thinking it was going to leave.
“That’s my pet,” you hurried over and took the small animal in your arms, caressing its fur as an attempt to comfort it. “He’s a guinea pig.”
“A what?! What an abomination,” he spat. “Why would you keep a rat and pig hybrid?”
“Calm down. It can’t even hurt a fly.”
“I want it out of the house,” said Ryomen. Those were the last words he said to you before you left to run errands.
You went out to buy food and bedding for your guinea pig. You were worried that leaving it with Ryomen was a bad idea. It wasn’t because you didn’t trust him, it’s just that Ryomen didn’t know how to act around it so you can’t blame him for the way he reacted. If he did end up doing harm to it, you weren’t gonna let him off and you’d probably spend a month sleeping on the couch to show him how angry you were.
You crossed your fingers, nervously staring at the door knob. You inserted the key and turned it around, slowly twisting the knob and peeking through the small opening.
“Ryo?!” You gasped.
There he was, sitting on the couch with the guinea pig on his lap while he watched a horror movie. He hand was firmly placed on the guinea pig’s back, gently caressing it like you did. He turned to look at you and smirked.
“I have tamed the dirty beast.”
