synopsis: eddie’s insecurities always make him question whether or not he really deserves you, but he knows he can count on you to continuously prove him wrong.
warnings: mentions of insecurities in terms of looks & relationship dynamics, few swear words, fem!reader in mind, reader has a mom, dad & little sister, established relationship, lil heated moments
note: inspired by role model’s song “scumbag” (if you haven’t listened to his latest album “kansas anymore” go do it!!!)
“i’m a train wreck, i’m a cigarette. i’m the side that no one’s rooting for. but you stand by me.”
“eds? did you hear me?”.
quickly blinking his eyes, eddie took in his surroundings & came back to reality. pressing a faint kiss to your hair, he nodded his head.
you both were having a movie night at his trailer with blankets & popcorn on his couch. you both weren’t super picky, so the random cable channel playing horror movies did the trick.
“sorry—zoned out. what were you saying, baby?” he tried to recover from his mere moment of weakness, his arm tightening around your shoulders to pull you closer to his chest.
“i was just wondering…” you teetered, “would you wanna come over tomorrow?” you nerves were taking over now that his attention was fully on you.
“it’s my little sister’s birthday & my parents are doing a barbecue to celebrate—it’s okay if you don’t wanna come, i get it,” you started to ramble, fiddling with the material of eddie’s shirt you wore.
“i just thought it’d be nice for you to meet my family, y’know? b-but you can totally say no—it’s not a big deal” you assured him, but you secretly hoped he’d say yes.
when eddie didn’t answer immediately, you lifted your head from his chest to get a better view of his face, seeing a look of uncertainty on his features. it made you worry if asking this was too much.
“you want me to your family? a-are you sure?”
nodding your head quick, your hand rose up to rest on his cheek, thumb smoothing over his skin. “i’m sure,” you smiled once you saw eddie’s face soften, his doe eyes twinkling under the living room lamps.
“you’re my favourite person, eddie. plus, my mom has been dying to meet you since our first date” your cheeks felt warm at that little omission, & you could see a pink hue bloom on eddie’s.
pressing a kiss to the palm of your hand, eddie pushed aside his insecurities for a moment. “okay,” he exhaled, “i’d love to come over”.
pushing yourself up on the couch cushions to thank him with a kiss, eddie’s hands tightened on your waist, sighing into your mouth the longer your lips were locked to his.
“by the way,” he pecked the corner of your mouth. “you’re my favourite too”.
**~*~*~~*~**~*~~*~*~**~**~*~~*~*
tomorrow had come & eddie was freaking the hell out.
his room had become a larger mess than it usually was, turning into a something that looked like a hurricane with all the clothes thrown everywhere & on everything. all morning, he had tried finding the perfect outfit to wear that would be acceptable in the eyes of your parents, but nothing seemed to work.
so for the last ten minutes, he sat against the edge of his bed with his fingers tangled in his lion’s mane, eyes pinched & breath heavy in frustration.
at least, that was until his landline phone began to ring.
“hello?” he spoke into the mic, voice dropping with defeat.
“eds? what’s wrong?” your voice was concerned, only causing eddie’s breath to hitch.
“nothing baby, it’s all good”.
you scoffed. “sure don’t sound like it”.
rolling his eyes playfully, he fully laid out on his bed, back growing uncomfortable from all the clothes sprawled across it.
“are you gonna tell me what’s wrong or continue to mope about it?” you chided, only making him sigh.
“i have nothing good to wear”. the statement made him seem pathetic in his eyes.
tilting your head (you knew he could tell your movements), you couldn’t help but have a small smirk on your face while you twisted the phone cord between your fingers.
“now i don’t believe that, baby” now you heard him scoff.
“your parents are gonna think i’m a freak—everybody does. i-i can’t help it”. he spoke softer now, insecurities flowing out of him & overtaking his being because he didn’t want to be made a fool out of.
he wouldn’t be able to survive knowing your family doesn’t approve of him.
& your heart drops at the mere thought of it.
“eddie,” you spoke, trying to reel him back in from the negative parts of his mind. “no one is going to think you’re a freak—you’re so much more than that stupid label”.
he continued to stare up at the client as you spoke, his chest growing heavy with anxiety.
“they’re going to love you because you’re kind, have good humour, extremely helpful, caring, handsome,” you could hear him let out a huff at the last word.
“… & because i love you”.
you both haven’t said those three words yet since you started dating a few months ago. so, now was the first time.
“y-you what?”
fear overtook you now, your heartbeat loud in your ears. did i say it too early you thought to yourself.
“i-i love you, eddie. i hope that’s okay” oh shit.
eddie almost dropped the phone from his hand, still somehow in shock that someone like you loved someone like him. he’s been known as trailer trash, a freak, a thrown out cigarette, a scumbag, a stain on the so called beauty of hawkins—he’s been torn down for too long.
but by the grace of god (or some other being or universe or whatever), you saw past all the tarnished scuffs on him.
it’s something he still can’t fully understand.
“eddie, i-i’m sorry if i just fucked everything—“
“i love you too. sorry it took me so long to say it”
his words took you by surprise, & you couldn’t help but laugh happily into the receiver.
“you don’t have to be sorry, you just have to come over & kiss me to seal the deal” you bit your lip at your coyness, hoping it’d be enough for him to pull through.
“i’ll see you in thirty, sweetheart” eddie said before ending the call, leaving you with a fluttering feeling in your chest. your head bumped into your pillow in a lovestruck haze, cheeks hurting from how hard were smiling.
you were so in love with that man.
**~~*~*~**~***~*~~**~*~**~*~*
you waited at the front door while the party festivities took place in the backyard, hearing your mom yell that the food was almost ready from the back door. you tapped your sandal clad foot eagerly, anxious for when the doorbell would finally ring.
& it hit you like bricks when it chimed in your ears.
your hand (which was slightly clammy from nerves) held the doorknob, twisting it slowly until the door was open & your lovely boy was in view.
he dressed in casual attire consisting of a dark red t-shirt, dark blue jeans, & a new pair of sneakers he got with steve the other day. he still wore his rings & guitar pick necklace, dawning those pearly whites of his with a grin when he saw you.
his hands were full, holding onto things with a claw like grip. in one, he held three small bouquets of flowers from the supermarket & his van keys. the other held a purple gift bag stuffed with white glittery tissue paper, the specks of glitter shining brightly in the mid afternoon sunlight.
“hey, baby” he said with a pep in his step, eying you up & down. you could tell he was still nervous, but he was trying his best to keep cool.
without missing a beat, your hands flew up to his face & you kissed him hard, taking him by surprise on your front door step. but who could blame you for doing such a thing after you both confessed your love over the phone?
“you’re gonna,” *kiss* “make me” *kiss* “drop everything”, he huffed, laughing into your lips when you refused to pull away initially.
“sorry,” you heaved. “just love you so much is all” you grinned harder at eddie’s flushed face.
“lemme put everything down & give you a proper one, yeah?”
you agreed, helping him inside your home for the first time, giving him a quick tour of the main floor as you headed to the kitchen to put the flowers in some water.
“my mom is a gonna get all sappy knowing you got us all flowers—thank you by the way” you pecked his cheek with a pop as you placed the flowers into three different vases.
placing the gift bag on the counter, eddie just shrugged nonchalantly. “well, it’s just what a gentleman does” he said, smirking when you smiled at him.
“yeah,” you made your way over to him, hands playing with the hair at the nape of his neck, chest pressing into his as his cold ring clad hands held your waist, squeezing it every few seconds.
“you really are the best” you leaned closer to him, lips just about to brush his.
“hmm, is that right?” his breath fanned your face, smelling like spearmint gum.
you could only nod, unable to resist the space anymore until he made the final dip forward, capturing your lips in his for a proper kiss where he could hold you close. it was slow, saying all the things you both wanted to say, while being sweet & soft & rewarding all at the same time.
“i love you” he breathed into your mouth, his thumbs fiddling with the smocked material on the lower back of your dress, being careful not to let them drift too low in case someone in your family caught him—& god forbid it’d be your father.
“i love you too” you murmured, pulling apart to laugh & smile & take all of him in like this.
you took a mental screenshot of him, safely storing it away in your brain’s memory box for later.
“so,” you patted his chest. “ready to meet everyone?” you asked, wiping away some of your lipgloss from his bottom lip while he sweetly tucked some of your hair behind your ear, fingers brushing over your earrings with a smile (because you’re wearing the ones he bought you).
eddie thought you tasted just as sweet as you looked.
“yeah,” he interlocked your fingers with his own, squeezing three times “now i am”.
“i’m a scumbag, i’m a scumbag (but you stand by me)”.
A/N: guys... i know this is a sapphic song but hear me out on this one.... the lyrics go too well with eddie to ignore 😖 (gif creds: @keery)
Pairing: Eddie Munson x Fem!Bimbo!Reader
Summary: “Baby, why don't you come over? / Red wine supernova, falling into me” 2.9k words
Warnings: fluff, dumbass pining x2, best friends to lovers, a few kisses, broody & high eddie, cursing, pet names (teddy, bug), teenage boys, underage drinking/smoking
"Hi, teddy!"
It rings in his ears like church bells. Then Eddie sees you and you're drenched in golden sunlight even though it's afternoon and the school halls provide no source of natural light. So maybe you're just beautiful. A vision in go-go boots.
Totally not his type, though.
"Hey," Eddie sighs, exhuasted from the hour and a half English lecture he just suffered. Not to mention, he was already exhuasted from the fact that he barely slept the night before. Which was maybe, possibly, perhaps caused by his overthinking about that nice shade of lipstick you always wear.
"How was Lit?"
"Shit."
You giggle, "that rhymed!" His heart skips a beat.
You're side by side down the halls—you always walk to lunch together—and, like clockwork, you tease him about trying to hold your hand when his ringed fingers brush your wrist. Of course, he would. In a heartbeat, he'd have his fingers clasped with yours like that's what they are molded for. But people would stare, and that's more of a hassle than he’d prefer.
Don't get him wrong, he doesn't actually give a shit about people staring at him, he just doesn't want to give anyone anymore reasons to stare at you. In disgust. Or loathing. With whatever judgements they'd make. Names they'd call you. He's been through the ringer, he'd never drag you along with him.
You're chattering about the state of your new, pink jellies when Eddie catches someone throwing you an off glance. He tries not to think too much of it, and he's not like jealous or anything, but every snicker and whisper sets him off. You're bubbly and kind and it's not fair people look at you different when you're with him.
"You ever notice how people look at us?"
You tilt your head at him as you round the corner of the cafeteria doors.
"You mean like how Dustin makes funny faces when I compliment your hair?"
"No, I mean like that," he huffs, pointing right at the judgemental stares of Melissa and Nicole, who promptly turn away with a gasp. He shakes his head. "And I like when you compliment my hair."
"Well, I like your hair." You smile at him as he pulls out a chair for you. You're the first ones to the table.
"Thank you, bug." Eddie ducks into his own seat, tapping his heavy fingers against the tabletop. "Off topic. I'm saying, you never notice people look at us... funny?"
The metal clasps of your limited edition Disco Fever lunchbox clack against the side as you unfold the lid. Your face contorts, considering the scenarios you've devised in your head if anyone was ever rude to Eddie in front of you. Let's just say your self-defense knowledge would come in handy.
"I guess I notice sometimes, but I just don't care. I like you lots more than I like them," you say, shrugging it off, "And I know how to fight."
His heart swells, face rosy, ears hot as an oven. Of course, you'd say that. You always know what to say.
Too bad you're not his type.
Dustin plops down in the seat across from you, nearly gagging at the way Eddie ogles at you.
"Would you get a fuckin' room already—!"
"Language," you both holler.
"Jinx!" you chirp. "You owe me a soda."
"I'll get you a soda, bug," Eddie hums. Dustin considers stocking his backpack with those little bags they give you on airplanes just in case.
...
"Weird Science or The Woman in Red?"
You're perched on the floor of his living room, wearing silk shorts and a cami. You weigh both tapes in your manicured hands like it'll tell you anything about the quality of the films inside.
"Somethin' to say about Kelly LeBrock, bug?"
"Steve suggested them! And he gave me a discount, so I couldn't just say no," you say with such a dazzling smile on your face, he thinks you're the nicest girl he's ever met. Or, at least, the nicest he's ever seen, no contest.
Just, not his type.
"Go figure," he says, "Weird Science."
"'Cause of the mutant bikers?" You beam up at him where he sits on the couch.
"'Cause of the mutant bikers."
It makes you giggle, which makes him smile like an idiot.
Then Hellfire pours onto Eddie's front porch bearing gifts of humongous chip bags and a six pack of cheap beer. He jumps a little at the doorbell, and you spring up to open the floodgates for the rowdy group of boys. They greet you excitedly and spread themselves across the rest of the couch, an armchair, and the floor.
Dustin tosses you a bag of pop rocks, and you blow a kiss in thanks, promising to bring him by the arcade next week. Eddie feels so far from you, even though your shoulders are pressed between his knees. But he can't see you or talk to you, your attention is divided, and he can't help but feel a little needy. You smack Dustin's hand when he reaches for a beer, and he whines about Mike sneaking one.
"What movie did the love birds choose?" Gareth asks. Eddie takes out a baggie of weed.
"Weird Science!" you coo, slotting the tape into the VCR. Gareth celebrates, sloshing his beer can against the coffee table as the rest of the boys high five and howl. You roll your eyes affectionately.
You laugh, smacking Jeff on the arm. “Oh, you’re all horny perverts.”
Gareth salutes, “At your service!” Which earns him a playful flick upside the head. The opening credits roll, and you stand triumphantly.
“I have to pee, but you guys can let it roll while I’m gone!” you chirp, skipping off down the hall of the mobile home.
As soon as you’re out of ear shot, Dustin whips around to scowl at Eddie who exhales a slow puff from the neon pink bong you gifted him last year. He passes it to Gareth and crosses his arms over his chest.
“I can’t tell what’s worse,” Dustin huffs, “The fact that you’re so oblivious or the fact that she is, too.”
Eddie squints. “What?”
Dustin deadpans.
“Dude, even I can tell you two like each other,” Mike chimes in, “Will thought you were dating from two thousand miles away. Over the phone.”
“You guys are fucking high. We are not dating,” Eddie says.
Mike shrugs. “You should be.”
“Okay, twerp, I’m not taking romantic advice from someone in a long distance relationship.”
“He’s right,” Dustin barks.
“That means you, too, twerp. Besides. Not my type.” Eddie sighs and slumps into the cushions, reaching his arms above his head.
“Yeah, right,” Lucas says, “If she’s not your type, then who is?”
“I don’t know, but she’s not.”
Gareth rolls his eyes. “Sounds like a lame excuse for your cowardice.” Eddie’s jaw drops, and he grabs for his bong.
“You did not just say that to me.”
“I meant it.”
You bumble back into the room, and the conversation screeches to a halt, Gareth whipping back towards the screen with Eddie’s eyes still burning holes in the back of his head.
“What did I miss?”
“Nothing,” they grumble.
Eddie smiles when you plop down next to him on the creaky couch. He can’t focus on the movie with the stray glances he’s catching from the younger boys and the soft looks you offer every so often. Maybe he is gutless. Because when he thinks about you, he’s floored. Then—knee jerk—he has to justify his racing heart with the fact that he could never be into you. But he is. You’re beautiful and funny and sweet to him. You are his type.
Not halfway into the film, Dustin whines, “I’m bored. Can we play a game? Like spin the bottle or kiss marry kill or something?”
“First of all,” Eddie says, “there’s only one chick here, we’re not playing spin the bottle. Second, are you five years old?”
You scoff and pat Eddie on the thigh. “Hey! I’m with Dustin. Truth or dare?”
“Works for me,” Jeff interjects. Eddie glares at him, grabbing his bong from the table. “Truth or dare, Eddie.”
He exhales a puff of smoke, shaking his head.
“Truth”—The boys’ heads turn, wicked smiles on their faces like predators eyeing him up—“Fuck, dare.”
Jeff cocks a brow.
“I don’t like this game,” Eddie says.
“Do you have a crush on anyone?”
“I said dare.”
Jeff grins. “I dare you to tell me if you have a crush on anyone.”
Dustin, Lucas, and Mike chuckle.
“Fuck you all. Yeah, fine, I do. Next,” Eddie grumbles.
“It’s your turn, teddy,” you coo.
“Right. Dustin, truth or dare.”
“Easy. Truth,” he says.
“Is it fun being a little shit?”
You shove his side. “Eddie!”
“Why, yes. Yes, it is.”
“Great,” Eddie huffs.
“Awesome.” Dustin glares at him.
The game continues just like that, a vicious cycle of sarcasm and glares. It’s a little more lighthearted when Lucas asks you if you have a special skill. Without responding, you ask for a deck of cards and stand in front of the screen.
“You boys like magic?”
A few nod, the rest too stunned to speak as you show them a card, the queen of diamonds, and shuffle the deck a few times. You pull a card from the deck, and the boys lean in, anticipating the red queen. You spin the card, and they groan when you reveal the eight of clubs.
“That’s not our card, bug,” Eddie says. He expects you to be disappointed, but you grin and set the deck on the table.
“I know.” Their eyes widen when you reach into the top of your shorts, a card pinched between your fingers. The queen of diamonds. “This is.”
You toss the card, and the boys grab for it. Eddie gulps and shifts in his seat, couch squealing beneath him. Lucas pelts the hard-won card at Eddie, and you curtsy before heading back to your seat.
…
Just as the game gets a little tired, Dustin shoots his hand into the air. “My turn!”
“Okay, but this is the last one—”
Dustin shouts your name.
“Yes?”
“Truth or dare?”
You pretend to contemplate before chirping, “Dare!”
Eddie leans his head back, lulling to the side to watch you smile at Dustin. You catch Eddie staring and stick your tongue out at him. He winks.
“I dare you… to kiss the person on your right.”
“Geez, how long did it take you to come up with that one,” Eddie mumbles. But you look to your right, and Eddie looks kind of uninterested, glazed over and staring at the ceiling.
“That doesn’t seem very consensual,” you say, brows knitted just as Eddie lifts his head. Dustin glares expectantly at Eddie who slowly sits up and turns his head, smirking at you.
“You can kiss me, bug. So long as you promise not to bite.”
Eddie’s relieved when you giggle and set your hand on his knee.
“If you say so!” You lean closer, and he blushes at the new proximity. Despite his nerves, he just can’t look away, eyes locked with yours. You huff when it feels like he’s staring straight into your soul. But you’re smiling so sweetly, even with all the rascals chanting ‘do it!’.
You shift your weight and hold onto his shoulder as he slips his arm around your waist so you don’t teeter off the couch. He nods, tip of his nose just brushing yours. You press your lips to his quickly, and he can sense your nerves when you pull away and look down.
Everyone cheers.
You look into his eyes again, and your face relaxes, the heat not so unbearable when you see his smile. You duck to kiss him again, his arm tighter on your waist. He tries not to smile, but you hum softly and, suddenly, he’s a puddle in your fingers.
You pull away when someone whistles, your ears rushing with blood as you drop your feet to the floor and look away, face burning.
Eddie clears his throat. “Alright, you pervs got what you wanted. Can we finish this damn movie already?”
“It’s kinda late,” you hum, “I don’t wanna be driving too close to the witching hour.”
“Wait, what?” Gareth says, watching you stand and shuffle into your slippers by the door.
“Sorry, guys. Just… superstititous.” They wouldn’t have believe you if you hadn’t said it with a genuine smile on your face. Eddie hops up from his seat and follows you.
“I’ll walk you out, bug.”
“Ooh,” Dustin teases. Jeff slaps a hand over his mouth, and Dustin mumbles an expletive against it.
Your little, red coupe is sidled right up next to his van. He always keeps the spot closer to the door open for you. His hands are tucked into the pockets of his jacket, your arms crossed over your chest to keep out the cold. He winces.
“You sure you don’t wanna stay? I can take the floor,” Eddie says, shucking his jacket and wrapping it over your shoulders. You smile.
“Such a gentleman.”
He rolls his eyes.
“I’ll see you tomorrow, teddy,” you whisper, craning your neck to kiss his cheek. Your heart-shaped keychain jangles against the car door as you slot the silver key into the lock. When you get the door open and glance at him, he’s stone faced where he leans against the back window.
“Wait,” he huffs.
“Yeah?”
Eddie can feel himself flailing, hands shaky at his sides when you look at him. He can’t tell if it’s because of the cold or his nerves or how worried you look or the fact that this could be his only chance. Don’t be a coward. He expects you to get tired of it. Eventually, you’ll have to let go, but right now, you stand there and wait for him. Oh.
“Sorry, bug. I’m pretty high right now.”
“I don’t mind.” You shrug when he rubs the back of his neck and chuckles softly. “You okay?”
He shakes his head. “You’re so sweet. And you’re so nice to me. God, you’re so pretty.”
“Thank you, Eddie,” you coo, standing close enough to feel the warmth radiate from his chest. He nods slowly, glancing down at your lips.
“Yeah.”
You thumb over the leftover slip of paper in the pocket of his jacket. And you smile, remembering when you passed him that note in chem last thursday.
Eddie sucks in a breath, sighing, “You make me so nervous.” You blink hard, and he’s seering hot under the warm light filtering through the trailer windows. “And you’re so fascinating.”
“Fascinating?!”
“Yeah,” he whispers.
“That’s a new one. ‘S that a good thing?” you say, head tilted watching him push his fingers through his hair.
“Yeah, it’s a good thing. Fascinating is good. To me.” You swear his eyes twinkle a little when he looks at you.
“Well,” you nod, “Thank you.”
“Yeah.” And he can’t stop himself from taking selfish glimpses at your mouth. He feels so stupid for how long he denied his genuine attraction to you. His crush on you. You’d laugh if you knew what went on in his head. “I liked kissing you.”
You take a deep breath, and he steels himself for rejection. He thinks, why should you want anything to do with him after he’s acted so indifferent towards you all this time.
“I liked kissing you, too, teddy.” Holy fuck.
He grins. “You’re my type.” At first, you think he’s joking, but even a blind man could tell Eddie was dead serious. “Textbook description of it, bug. You’re my type.”
You look into his eyes again, trying to gauge if he’s fucking with you. He has to know that you’ve liked him for years. He has to. It’s not like the boys have been subtle about it.
“I… am flattered,” you coo, “Where’s all this coming from?”
“Just. From me. You know? It’s always been there. Had a crush on you forever, just had to tell you now.”
You nod, biting back a grin and shuffling a little closer. He’s absolutely buzzing when you curl your fingers into his bicep.
“Can I kiss you?” His head is spinning when you nod and press up against him. He’s sure you can feel his heart pounding. Especially when you press your delicate palm right to it. His hand fits gently against your hip.
Now, it’s his turn to kiss you. His lips are so soft against yours, tender like he’s nervous you’ll shatter. You giggle and reach for the back of his neck, your mouths falling open against each other in a fit of excitement and heat. He tugs you closer when your tongue slips into his mouth; he doesn’t mean to, but he feels himself smile and spread his hand across your lower back.
Eddie pulls away, eyes flicking wildly across your face just before he pecks your mouth again.
“Bug?”
You nod, eyes refusing to open as he kisses your cheek.
“Be my girlfriend?”
“Yes, teddy, I will!”
You tug him down by the collar to kiss him ferocious, his cheeks instinctively hot with your baby pink fingernails gentle on his neck. You can hear the cheers and high-fives from inside the house, exclamations of ‘finally!’ and ‘i knew it’.
Then Dustin hollers, “Fuck yeah!”
And you both shout, “Language!” just before falling into each other in a fit of giggles.

thinking about kissing kakyoins scars. he's worried you didn't like his face before but now with those long scars across his eyes, covering up the focal point of his face, he's worried you'll never find him attractive. cup his slender face in your hands, kissing the start of kaks scar right to the end. tell him they add character and show how strong and capable he really is. instead of being a reason to hate himself because he was weak or foolish or anything else he thinks he was, it's a reminder he's survived, adapted, and overcame it all. he's your warrior and as you plant a gentle kiss to his eyelid you hope he can believe that
early relationship with out of this world gorgeous man suguru and you're still stuttering when he stares at you longer than three seconds, yes you counted.
you still have no idea how you managed to garner his interest. him going from a small tiny crush to being your boyfriend? you had to pat yourself on the back.
so that's why you're extremely nervous and rambling about some lines in the movie you're currently watching with him, bodies tangled together. your hands are a little shaky, and maybe a little sweaty, from holding his and your heart is beating so loudly you pray he doesn't hear it.
as for suguru? he just stares at you no— admires you with a lazy grin. it's clear how nervous he makes you feel and he thinks it's endearing.
and as much as he's fond of listening to you rant about something completely irrelevant, he just couldn't help but steal a few glances at your lips. he knows you noticed too because your babbles were now a frenzy of stutters and the faint pink on your cheeks turn red, spreading through your face and all the way to your ears.
"so what happens after that was-" your words halt as you gulp and blink furiously, looking at anywhere but his face.
suguru only chuckles and shifts his body closer towards you "yeah? what happens after that?" he leans in teasingly.
"actually... i don't know" you smile to yourself, finding humour with it all and you turn, bravely too.
taking his chance, suguru closes the small distance separating you both and lands his lips onto your own. at first you freeze but then he feels you relax and melt into the kiss.
he slowly brings his hands to cup your cheeks, slowly caressing it as he gently tugs your lower lip with his teeth upon pulling away.
your forehead connects and suguru smiles fondly "you have no idea how long i waited for this" he practically purrs and your heart, for the hundredth time today, threatens to burst.
"me too" was all you could mutter out meekly.
suguru lets out a faint laugh "yeah?"
"yeah"
that was all the confirmation he needed when he leaned in to kiss you again, so much more passionate this time.
You call Eddie Jupiter - the planet, not the god - and depending on who asks him why exactly that is, he either answers 'None of your business,' or 'Because I'm massive' with a stupidly smug grin that is so incredibly stupidly smug because it's not even a lie albeit not all of the story.
Jupiter spins faster than any other planet in our solar system and so does Eddie's mind, manifesting in ever-tapping feet and fingers and the quickest mouth around.
Jupiter has many, many moons most of them small; like his Hellfire kids. What started out as collecting strays in High School has now become a project hosted by the local youth club and you have long lost count over how many kids orbit him on the regular. And then there are the big moons: Ganymede (Jeff), Io (Erica), Europa (Ronnie) and Callisto (Gareth, who's also amazing on guitar, as it turns out)
Jupiter has Rings. Fainter than those of Saturn but Eddie's ring collection changes from big, loud and clunky to... less big and... less clunky over the years.
Jupiter's magnetic field is the strongest in our solar system and you just can't fucking stay away from him... (It's not called Eddy Currents for nothing, right?) (Same goes for gravity, of course.)
Jupiter's days only last 10 hours and time fucking flies when you're with him, always seems to pass too fast.
"And Jupiter is fucking beautiful," you say and Eddie tries to hide the blush high on his cheeks by pressing a kiss to your temple. "There is more!"
"Hmmm, there is always more inside that head of yours," he cups your cheeks, presses two quick kisses to your lips and your foreheads together. "But I have to shut you up now... feel like crashing into the sun..."
characters: Yamaguchi x gn!Reader content:(sfw!) established relationship, pure fluff, soft kisses and blushy Yams, treating him like the princess he is word count: 362
Thinking about teaching Yamaguchi the constellations. Excitedly pulling up a map on your phone and pointing them out, taking care to point out Scorpio, his zodiac sign. He looks over them all with such awe and wonder as you go through them. After checking the forecast, you realize that it would be clear enough tonight for the both of you to go stargazing together. You'd just have to wait for the sun to set.

You look over the constellations on Yamaguchi's cheeks, jokingly pointing them out. "Look, there's Cygnus... and here's Cepheus." You trace a soft finger across his skin, connecting the freckles to each other in replicas of the stars. A red heat blooms under each spot your finger drags along.
"Are you embarrassed?" You chuckle softly, cupping his warm cheeks, his whole face flushing your favorite shade of red.
"A-ah... no... maybe a little? But not in a bad way!" He looks up at you with a timid smile. His hands reach up, encircling your wrists as he nuzzles gently into the palms of your hand. "Please don't stop..."
You kiss over the heated skin, mumbling softly as you worked your way over his freckled cheeks, "Taurus, Volans, Pyxis." You recount the constellations. He lets out a deep, satisfied sigh, his brows slightly tented. Pulling back for a moment, you get a good look at the adorable blissed out expression he's wearing.
After several minutes of reciting the stars, you were running out of constellations to name. Unwilling to stop the little game you had going, you started making up your own constellations. Peppering sweet kisses over the flushed skin as you mumbled nonsensical names, Yamaguchi was none the wiser. He leaned into your touch, soaking in the soft affection.
"Didn't you want to stargaze tonight? The sun should be set by now..." He called softly, his eyes half lidded and full of affection. His cheeks were slightly squished in the palms of your hands. You press a soft kiss to the tip of his nose, causing his eyes to flutter closed.
"They're all right in front of me... Why would I ever waste my time looking at the sky?"
An otherwise quiet night is filled with the sniffling sounds of crying. The tv plays on mute, the picture of another random tv show flickering acts as the only light on in the living room.
You snuggle closer to Eddie on the couch. Feet digging deeper into the olive-colored fabric as your legs tangle. You’re both kind of sitting but mostly laying against the pillows at one end.
Eddie’s arm wraps around you, keeping a light grip as his other hand finds your jaw, gentle fingers softly caressing the skin there and along your cheek, taking your tears with them.
You follow the sparse flecks of freckles and moles on his neck, counting each one until you get to the scars stretching along the left side. Pink scars moving with each movement of his mouth and each swallow.
Fingers itch to caress his jaw just as his do to yours, but your fingers have a grip on the necklace resting on his chest. Your thumb rubs the dark red plastic, running along the edge, tickling the skin just below.
He tells you as much every time it happens, causing a wet laugh to leave you.
Your eyes are so focused on the lower half of his face, you don’t notice his watching you, watching every tear leave your eyes, watching every huff leave your mouth.
Watching you fall apart for just a bit in his arms, not keeping things bottled up for once.
His warm lips touch your cheekbone, kissing a tear that started to make its way down your face.
This goes on for the next few minutes, though it feels like seconds, between whispered love you’s as he kisses away as many tears as he can.
clingy bf!sukuna...who swears that he is anything but clingy until he meets you.
clingy to the point where he follows you to the bathroom, keeping you company whilst you take a bath or a shower.
'Sukuna get out.'
'No I gotta piss.'
'You said that fifteen minutes ago and you're still here.'
'Gotta make sure you don't drown or something, you would do some stupid shit like that.'
'Gee thanks.'
also bf!sukuna being clingy to the point where he hangs around the kitchen whilst you cook or clean, following you around just to piss you off.
sukuna being clingy to the point where if you even move an inch off the couch whilst watching a movie, he immediately pauses the screen and asks you where you're going
'to get the popcorn obviously'
'oh.'
but the most clingy version of sukuna is when you wake up early in the morning and attempt to get ready for work.
keyword: attempt
it's like fighting a whole big cat similar to ones that you see in the zoo, sukuna's warm body trapping you in place underneath the sheets.
'i'm not doing this again with you sukuna...'
'mhmmmm.'
'i'm serious' you pinch his tattooed skin yet there's no reaction.
'm' serious too babe.' he groans. His eyes are closed with his pink locks messily arranged. His two hands wrap around your waist with nothing but security. 'you're not leaving.'
'I have a job, a commitment.'
'Is our marriage not a commitment?'
'we're not married 'kuna.'
There's a pause and for a second you think that Sukuna has fallen back to sleep.
'yet.'
'what did you just say?!'
Kuroo had imagined that if he ever had a meet-cute with his future girlfriend, it would be something out of a rom-com.
Maybe she’d bump into him in the hallway and drop her books, and their hands would brush as they both reached down. Maybe they’d get locked in the school’s storage closet and have no choice but to talk, discovering they had an undeniable connection. Maybe he’d do something particularly cool in front of her—like nail an impossible volleyball save—and she’d be so impressed that she’d fall for him on the spot.
You know, a great story to tell his future kids later on.
What he did not imagine was this.
He had barely settled into his seat in chemistry lab class when the teacher rattled off instructions about the elements they’d be working with today. Kuroo, who had only half-listened, glanced at the laminated periodic table on their lab station. There were a lot of elements, and he was already regretting not paying closer attention. With a sigh, he turned to the girl beside him.
“Hey, can you check which elements we’re supposed to—”
He paused.
For one, you looked a little startled, like you hadn’t expected him to speak to you so soon. Your lips parted slightly, and your fingers thrummed against the edge of the table, but you didn’t immediately respond. Kuroo furrowed his brows.
Maybe you didn’t hear him?
Before he could repeat himself, you blinked a few times and slowly turned to the periodic table. Your expression shifted into something that could only be described as deep concentration, like you were trying to decipher some ancient text rather than a chart of chemical elements.
Seconds passed.
Then a full minute.
Kuroo’s eyebrows inched up.
Still, no answer.
“Give me a second.”
Ah, there it was.
He could see your eyes darting over the periodic table, and every few moments, you squinted slightly, as if you were trying to bring the tiny printed words into focus. Another thirty seconds passed. He tilted his head, watching as you leaned forward a little, your eyes locked on the chart like your life depended on it.
You would probably set it on fire at this point from how intense you were looking.
“…You good?” he finally asked, unable to stop the curious edge in his voice.
You straightened up so fast it was like you had been caught doing something embarrassing. Which, judging by the way you suddenly looked anywhere but at him, you probably had.
“I, um—” You hesitated, biting your lip. Then, after what seemed to be an internal debate, you let out a small sigh. “I actually, uh, forgot my glasses at home.”
Oh.
Oh.
Kuroo blinked, his amusement only growing. That explained a lot.
“That bad, huh?” he asked, resting his elbow on the table and propping his chin on his hand.
“Not terrible,” you muttered, though the way you still weren’t looking at him suggested otherwise. “I can still see—just not, you know, well.”
That made him chuckle.
“Well, that’s going to be a little problem, isn’t it?”
You let out a small, almost defeated laugh. “Probably.”
Kuroo grinned and turned his attention back to the chart, skimming for the elements the teacher had mentioned. “Alright, let’s see… We’ve got—” He rattled off a few element names and their symbols, glancing at you to make sure you were following along.
Then, as if remembering you had an actual task to contribute to, you quickly dropped your gaze back on the textbook for reference. “You don’t have to—”
“Nah, it’s fine,” he interrupted smoothly. “What were the elements again? Aluminum, zinc, and—what was the last one?”
Still looking a little overwhelmed by the sheer speed at which this whole interaction was happening, you answered, “Um. Magnesium.”
“Magnesium, got it.” Kuroo tapped the page, making sure you could at least see where he was pointing. “Here, let’s work on this together. I’ll read it out, and you can double-check if I’m not mistaken.”
You let out a small, barely-there laugh—so quiet that if Kuroo hadn’t been paying attention, he would’ve missed it. But he was paying attention.
He had been ever since you sat next to him, really. He realized that he paid attention to you more than the teacher himself.
Kuroo read the information to you, sometimes exaggerating just for fun—“And this here, my dear lab partner, is the majestic zinc, element number 30, the unsung hero of batteries everywhere”—which earned him an amused shake of your head. You weren’t exactly talkative, per se, but he caught glimpses of amusement in the way you entertained his nonsense.
This must be the manifestation of that one tweet he posted, “My future wife is probably fake laughing at her boyfriend’s lame jokes rn. Be patient, Queen; a true clown is on the way.”
Now that you weren’t caught off guard, you nodded along, quickly jotting things down in your notes. It was then that Kuroo realized something else.
You hadn’t even introduced yourselves.
“You know,” he said, smiling a little, “I think we skipped a step.”
You paused, looking at him curiously, then back at your worksheet. “What?”
“The whole name thing.” He tapped his pen against the worksheet. “I asked you to do something before I even said hi. That’s pretty rude, huh?”
For the first time since he spoke to you, you actually met his gaze. And then, to his surprise, you cracked a small smile.
“A little, yeah.”
Kuroo chuckled. “I’m Kuroo Tetsurou.”
You tilted your head slightly, and then, like you were amused at how backwards this whole conversation had gone, you finally replied, “[Last Name] [Name].”
“Nice to meet you,” he said. “And don’t worry—I’ll be your eyes for today. And for as long as you’d like.”
“Are you this flirty with every person you meet?”
“Only the ones that know their way around a calculator despite not even looking at it directly.”
You rolled your eyes at that, but he could see how his jokes were getting to you. By the time the teacher walked around to check your progress, Kuroo had already decided that this was way better than any cliché shoujo manga meet-cute.
Because really, what could be more romantic than offering to be someone’s eyes for the day—and maybe even for forever?

“C’mere pretty girl, it’s cold outside - gonna need more than just my jacket,” your boyfriend Eddie smiles.
You flounce over to him from the hallway, already bundled up in your cozy long sleeve, tucked beneath Eddie’s favorite puffer jacket that smelled just like him. You were both eager to get a move on, so you could go and see the Christmas lights.
It had become a favorite tradition for you two, driving a few neighborhoods over to a well-known, ritzy hotspot for lights and decorations. All the homes were decked out to the nines; families and friends would walk to ooh and ahh at the elaborate setups and displays that took weeks of preparation.
Eddie hands you a pair of fuzzy black gloves to put on, as he pulls down the cute little matching Rudolph beanies you’d gotten for the two of you.
You’ll be easier to spot in a crowd if I can see the bright red Rudolph nose, babe. You’d joked. As long as you’re wearin’ one too, sweetheart, he’d told you.
You reach around him to adjust his scarf and beanie so they sat just right, finishing it with a kiss to his already cold nose, you rub your hands together, “kay, Eds, let’s go let’s go let’s go!”
He laughs before placing a kiss to your forehead, fluffy curls peaking from his beanie and sitting on his shoulders, “you’re so fuckin’ cute, babe.”
-
You both pull in just past the sign for Pine Crest Estates, where you can already see the shine of the bright lights, and a small, but fancy-looking stand that boasts a snowman holding a sign for hot chocolate & eggnog.
Eddie parks the car, and you shuffle out, immediately greeted by the cold air once again, after sitting in the heat that blasted from the air vents.
You begin walking on the path, snow lightly dusts the ground, as you wrap around your boyfriend’s middle.
“Look baby!” You gleam, marveling at the gingerbread house the size of a shed, an exaggerated gingerbread man stands next to it with his glowing gumdrop buttons.
“Thats impressive, I wonder how they do that. Extra icing to hold it up, you think?”
You gently swat his arm, “Ha-ha.”
You continue your walk and lean your head against Eddies shoulder, warming each other’s hands, as you keep them interlocked.
You stop to admire a scene of golden angels in a yard meant to be singing. “S’ pretty,” you sigh.
Endless rows of light strands danced into patterns of snowflakes and Christmas trees on the house behind it,
“These houses are all so pretty, Eds! I want a house to decorate like this with you.”
“Soon, angel.” He gives a kiss to your knuckles, and slows to a halt, turning closer into you. You feel his thumb push against your cheek, gently, as he brushes a tiny glistening snowflake off of your skin, a blush heats up your skin at his attentiveness.
You’re pulled from your love bubble when you hear bells ringing and dogs barking - you turn to see a little boy wearing a Santa hat flying down the road on his bike, with two puppies chasing after him. Eddie pulls you back, enough to keep you out of his path. “Gotta be careful baby. Don’t wanna get ran over by santa and his reindeer.” You playfully roll your eyes at him.
-
“You want a hot cocoa, baby?”
“Yes please!” You chirp.
Eddie hands over a five dollar bill for your drinks, as you warm your hands on the styrofoam cup, playfully bopping your hips to Jingle Bell Rock that plays down the block.
“That good?” He asks you, nodding at your drink.
“Mhm. Extra marshmallows is the way. Wanna try?”
“Sure, try mine, too.”
You trade drinks, and get a blast of peppermint and chocolate from his piping hot cup.
“It’s not bad. I prefer my extra marshy’s though.” You smile up at him, a sparkle in your eye.
Eddie pulls you into him, placing a kiss to your temple, “I love you, pretty girl, you know that?” He gushes, proud to have you by his side.
“I love you too, Eddie bear.”
…
“Those light up candy canes were rad. Think we should get some?” Eddie asks, casually.
“I’d love to, baby, but they’re a little big for our place, don’t you think?”
“Nah, just eight feet tall or so. I think we can swing ‘em.”
