Stuff I had found today while out antiqueing! The doll winds up and she came in a pair but sadly I couldn’t get them.
At this point I'm so good at thrifting that when I walk into my nearest Goodwill I will most likely come out with something Y2k or something cool in general
Can someone explain this to me I beg of you
Why is this being sold???? Who made it??? What's with all the lighting??? Why does it go so hard????
For my birthday today I went on a shopping spree (idk if buying 7 clothing items at a thrift store counts as a "spree" but oh well lol) and I decided to quickly peruse the movie section. I restricted myself to only buying a movie if it was a Ewan one so that I didn't go over budget. I wasn't expecting to find anything cuz I was already at the bottom shelf and BOOM! I COULDN'T BELIEVE MY EYES!!!!!
I screamed! I couldn't help it! I was so surprised and excited that one of my FAVORITE Ewan movies was for sale!!!! Plus, this was one movie that I figured I'd NEVER find in store especially not on DVD. Hands down this single handedly made my birthday PERFECT! 🤗
Y'all! So there were a bajillion DVDs at the thrift store all week. I'm not kidding. They had so much that they had to start bringing the movies out in buckets because there wasn't any shelf space. I haven't had a chance to go through them all until today. I just kept telling myself "there's way too many movies for there to not be a Ewan one." I felt it in my bones. If he was in one of these buckets, I was gonna sniff him out. Finally, after a long and tedious search of scanning movie titles, guess what was at the very end?
BAM!! I could hardly contain my joy! I knew he had to be there and I knew I would find him! Yayyyy, I'm so happy! 😁 I picked up Chicago too because of my darling Renée Zellweger 🥰. There was a movie called Twisted that I considered getting for Ashley Judd too (she was in Eye of the Beholder with Ewan) but I only had so much pocket money to spend. What a great score!
I GOT THEM!!!! And y'all, by the time I got off work there was not just one, not two, but THREE Ewan movies available and I got them all! You know what's crazy? The movies for sale were the next three movies in line for review in order! Moulin Rouge, Black Hawk Down, and Attack of the Clones! Isn't that cool? That brings my Ewan movie collection to five! I also got the movies Red and Red 2. Red 2 was available this morning and I considered getting it but I like the first one better so I didn't want to only buy the sequel. When I got off work, the first movie was available for sale so I went ahead and got them both! I don't think anything can dull my shine today! I shouldn't have bought so much. I'm sure I'll regret it later. Right now, I'm on cloud nine 😁🥰🥳
Try to stay calm but THE "MOULIN ROUGE" DVD IS FOR SALE AT MY JOB!!!! I literally said "oh my fucking god" when I saw it. But I can't buy it because I'm on the clock and I still have 4 hours until I clock out 😫😫 I'm so scared that it's going to get bought in that time! It's brand new, still in the plastic, and only 2 DOLLARS! Oh my god, I want it sooooo bad!
Edit: I just got a chance to actually pick it up and take a look and it's not new in the plastic. Doesn't change anything for me of course. Also, another Ewan movie "Black Hawk Down" is available too! There's a good selection of general movies we have today and I'm tempted to buy an armful lol
Found this photo album in a thrift store. These people look like they had a sick as hell Halloween party.
Sad to see it in a thrift store. The photos were really beautiful.
You ever have a moment where you think, ‘yea there’s a poem here I just can’t grab it.’
Some honorable mentions.
go! through! every! rack! i mean it! flip through every piece of clothing one by one. 90% of the time people complain about not finding anything is because theyre just skimming the racks
went through every rack? great, now go do it again!!! its so easy to miss things, and ive found some of my favorite pieces by doing a second sweep. this especially applies to sections that youve found good pieces in
sizes are a construct!! i've found things that are xs and things that are xl and theyve both fit perfectly. look at all sizing sections and dont be afraid to try things on, the worst that can happen is that it doesnt fit. (remember- clothes are meant to fit you, not you fitting your clothes♡)
that being said, seriously, try! things! on! i know it sucks and ive always hated it but its worth it to avoid buying things that end up not fitting or not looking how you imagined
be careful buying things with the intent to alter them, even if its as simple as shortening/hemming. (will you really get around to doing it?)
go through everything youve grabbed At Least Once before you check out. i usually do twice. genuinely ask yourself if youre going to wear it, and make sure that youre not spending money on things that will sit around and/or end up donated again
thrift stores can be gross. please wash your clothes and wash your hands when youre done
resellers suck. i know.
finding designer/name brands while thrifting is fun!! obsessively combing through every store in your area just for name brands is not
reminder that thrifting isnt just something thats "quirky" or fun to do. with the cost of living being insanely high, lots of people (like me) are getting the majority of their clothes secondhand because we cant afford the crazy prices elsewhere. being broke and wanting to look cool are not mutually exclusive
Taylor Swift
boygenius
Barbie (like i probably need some help on this, but then again, it's just so good)
The Dragon Prince
Brooklyn Nine-Nine

I want to thrift a beat up old wooden chest of drawers and repaint it with suns, moons, and stars
I want to go thrifting again soon. I need to find more colored glass bottles, shiny trinkets, and little boxes to fulfill my crow-like needs
Some of the stuff I got yesterday while thrifting ✨🌿
That was meant to be a photo album but I'll be using it as a sketchbook 🍃can't wait to start using it 🌙 peep that sneak peak of my next drawing 💚💜
Can we just admire that handsome lad I found🌼 he's a classic beanie baby✨says on the tag his name is Belvedere
look up 'textile recycling [county where you live]', in some areas big chain thrift stores like Goodwills (*not* small local nonprofit thrift stores) have a textile recycling program and encourage donation of clean, dry clothing/fabric that has no resale value. sometimes there are drop boxes or mail-in bags from other organizations that have a similar purpose. but also for fucks sake stop buying garbage
DONATING TO THE THRIFT STORE PSA!!!!! that i can’t believe i even have to say
if you would not buy it in the state it’s in, don’t fucking donate it!!
maybe if there’s a button missing or little holes or stains, but stop using thrift stores as your garbage. the amount of actual trash we get donated at my job is ridiculous. one man’s trash is another man’s treasure like 20% of the time. but chances are if you didn’t want to fix it yourself, neither will anyone else.
quality too. if you would not buy shein from the thrift store yourself, don’t donate your “cute summer shein hauls :33” that you don’t wear anymore because the trend ended. nobody buys shein second-hand, and it sits on our shelves until we have to throw it out.
“but i don’t have money to not shop at shein 🥺” idc. cope. thrift. maybe if the thrift stores weren’t full of plastic cancer clothes from last months aesthetic you’d be able to find more good quality items. but alas
ITS STILL YOUR CONSUMPTION WASTE, even if you give it to us. clothes don’t just disappear once you donate.
TREAT YOUR THRIFT STORES WITH RESPECT
