you guys realize that majority of these palestinian donation dms and posts are scams right? no one in gaza right now (which is a warzone with little electricity and internet) is sitting down in front of a computer asking teenagers for money on tumblr- especially if their family member(s) is dying like these messages always state. these people are fighting for their lives dodging bombs. you're giving money to selfish opportunistic scumbags taking advantage of the situation to make a profit. common sense, people. please.

HEY EVERYONE THIS IS A SCAM

DUMB STUPID SCAMMER, POINT AND LAUGH

SORRY THESE MIGHT BE SLIGHTLY OUT OF ORDER I just want to share this in case anyone gets something similar happening to them on discord (even not by me but someone else they know)

Apparently these scammers go through ALL lengths to make themselves look as legit as possible, they hack anyone in your friends list and basically claim to have false reported you. If you fall through and believe them they'll send you over to someone who claims to be one of discords employees and will BASICALLY in the end swindle you for money and to change your email and passwords on your account so they can hack into it. I AM SHARING because I want you all to be safe, cuz to the untrained eye you may not be able to tell right away these fuckers are scammers so, I just hope this helps, anyone that comes across this and- yeah. MY DISCORD GOT HACKED (And I got scammed)

Just wanna write this quick thing cuz its fucking 1: 30AM and i am SO TIRED from having to deal with random scammers and hackers all day pretty much but if anyone of you gets a message by "instaquarius" on discord THAT IS NO LONGER ME. THAT IS SOMEONE IMPERSONATING AS ME. PLEASE DON'T FALL FOR IT I AM BEGGING. JUST BLOCK AND MOVE ON. PLEASE DON'T FALL FOR IT. IT IS NO LONGER ME. SHORTLY AFTER THIS SHIT HAPPENED I TRIED TO DELETE MY DISCORD ACCOUNT BUT I DONT KNOW IF IT WORKED BUT HJSSBHBSHJDBJ ----------- TLDR:

A friend told me they falsely reported me cuz they got in contact with someone impersonating as me.

they gave me contact to a discord IT employee or whatever and go along, do whatever the IT says.

an hour or so later (cuz i couldn't figure out how to turn off 2FA cuz i was understandably panicking and what not and basically having a mental break down thinking i was about to be perma banned or some shit for something i didn't do)

dude asks for money and mickey ( @TheOnePhun211 ) my fiance and our friend @PilarFlorimonte was able to basicalyl realize the whole thign was a scam.

they changed my email and passwords and shit and i only just BARELY managed to delete both my alt acct and main one before they could do anything else.

deleted my massive(? ish server i had all my friends in and like- yeah. ------------- SO BASICALLY IF YOU GUYS ARE STILL BEING CONTACTED BY EITHER instaquarius ON DISCORD OR instaquariusvoice2.0 (or whatever I called that alt idk i only used that one for VC tbh) DONT EVEN MESSAGE THEM BACK JUST IGNORE. My new discord is TheRealestInstaQuarius211 (or just TheRealestInstaQuarius) and you should find me. AGAIN. for all your safety cuz I dont want anyone else being hacked. if you get a random message from instaquarius or any of my old accts saying: "they accidentally reported my account" or whatever. Just block and move on. Thank you and stay safe everyone, have a good night.

they’ve not only stolen pixel art from a LOT of artist (including myself and @waneella) but they’re claiming to be the artist behind the artwork. it’s just so wildly cringe lmfaooo but please block them so you don’t accidentally interact with this account, thank you!! 🖤

Sorry for double posting but APPARENTLY those commission scammers have showed up on Tumblr at least for the first time for me.

For those who don’t know what I am talking about, there were/are commission scams going on in Instagram and even places like Artstation where people would pretend to be interested in your work and try to commission a pet or portrait for the sake of trying to get your bank details. Here’s how to (somewhat) sniff them out:

1- They don’t seem to be an average customer/ person that would be involved in your fandom, or has a blank template for an account or don’t even follow you.

2- They ask you to draw a portrait or a pet picture either for themselves or their children/family.

3- They promise to overpay you (in the hundreds) and do not listen to you even if you firmly state the price is cheaper.

4- They are constantly asking for your email name, or private details regarding things like banking details or passwords or other private information others should not know.

5- They try and over reassure you they mean no harm, try to guilt you into giving them the info, or become aggressive over you not giving them what they want.

What should you do if you come across one of these guys? My best advice is to block and report. Sadly these people jump account to account so there isn’t really much to do other than spread this info to prevent artists from being scammed.

would you mind deleting their scam from your blog, or clearly labeling it as a scam so it doesn't spread to others? in the future, please remember to search the username/paypal account name/text used by the people asking for money in your inbox

So there's a scam/bot spam going around. Almost fooled me, but I got the same exact message on two seperate accounts.

Who falls for the classic Nigerian Prince money scam?

Hiccup: Almost does fall for it. He’s smart but way too trusting of people. He would be suspicious but go along until he finds out it’s a scam either from Astrid or the Twins.

Astrid: Would see right through it. End up sending threatening messages back.

Snotlout: Would fall for it. Before he’s scammed, he brags about becoming rich. Afterward, he ignores everyone for 2 weeks.

Fishlegs: Would not fall for it. Politely declines.

Ruffnut + Tuffnut: Would end up convincing the scammer to actually give them the money. Succeeds.

Stoick: Ignores the email.

Gobber: Would fall for it right until giving the credit card info then scold them over email.

Heather: Would personally track the scammer down. Or would ignore it. There’s no in between.

Dagur: Falls for it. He’s threatens the person into giving him the money back. Gets more than what he gave away.

Viggo: Creates an elaborate scheme that ends up with the scammer losing everything they own, including the money that they tried to scam out of him.

Ryker: Ignores the email.

Johann: The scammer.

I’m only on s3 of rtte so if these don’t sound canon, that’s because they probably aren’t.
