Your personal Tumblr journey starts here
you didn't mind giving people kisses, it was your way of telling people you loved them. everyone had known that your love language was physical touch. there was only one person you got nervous to kiss. it was the one and only, remus lupin.
it wasn't that you were scared of him or scared of his scars, because god knows that you wanted to kiss every one of his scars. you were scared that if you did, you wouldn't be able to stop.
a kiss on the cheek;
you sat on the edge of the couch arm, listening in on james and mary's conversation. remus sat next to you reading a new book as always, barley engaging with his friends around him. he'd look up every now and then, but his face was mostly in his book.
"dove, wouldn't it be more comfortable sitting on the couch?" you turned your head to see who remus was talking to, before looking at him with your brows furrowed.
"me?" he gave a quick chuckle.
"yes you, dove, sitting on the couch arm seems uncomfortable. isn't it?" he placed his book face down against his legs, his arm extended placing it closer to your hip.
"i- sure, but it'll be a tight squeeze." you stood to your feet, walking a few feet. his eyes didn't leave yours.
"i don't mind being close to you." you gave him a quick smile before you sitting down, legs pressed against each other. you quickly placed a kiss against his cheek.
"thank you, remus." you said before turning to talk to lily.
"anytime, dove."
a kiss on the forehead;
you stood alongside the hospital bed. you were upset. how could he have not told you? you two were friends, were you not? did he not trust you? had you done something for him to think that? did he think that? did he think you were going to tell someone about him? you wouldn't, you would never do that.
your eyes scanned his friends who sat in the beds next to him before your eyes flickered back to remus again. you took a deep breath, before watching his eyes flutter open. "remus, are you alright? would you like me to get the nurse?"
"shh, dove, relax please." he quickly sat, groaning from the pain, before looking completely at you. he noticed the dried tear stains against your face, the way your lips were plummed from you biting them, or the fact that your nails were chipped due to your constant picking.
"relax, remus? you want me to relax?" you spat, your face had turned from comforting to mad in less than a few seconds. who did he think he was, to tell you to relax? "you were passed out! in the forbidden forest! and don't sit there and lie to me! remus, because i know."
"darling, please under-"
"no, i don't understand, remus. why didn't you tell me? aren't we friends? did you not trust me?" you could feel your heart beating out of your chest, like if it went too fast it might just stop. you bit your tongue, trying to hold back the tears that started forming in your eyes.
"dove, i do trust you. i- i just didn't know how to tell you. i didn't want you to look at me differently." his eyes scanned your face, he could see the tears starting to form.
"i would never look at you differently, remus. you are everything to me, i care about your well-being." you quickly slipped your hand into his, before giving him a genuine smile.
"thank you, dove." you quickly moved your face towards him, before placing your lips against his forehead. a wave of your perfume hit him in the face, and it wasn't that it was too much. it was that he hadn't smelt it in so long.
"i could care less if you were a goblin or an elf, remus."
a kiss on the nose;
you had asked remus to join you in the library so he could help you study. you really didn't need his help, you just wanted to spend time with him. it wasn't like he cared, he'd drop everything to spend time with you.
you stood by the front door of the library, waiting for remus to be in view. your lip was a bit swollen from you biting them. you scanned everyone before scanning the lengthy man, with his cream sweater and his books in hand. his sandy brown hair barley over his eyes. his eyes looked up to met yours before a smile was placed on both of your face.
"hi, remmy." you managed to spit out.
"hi, dove, what did you need help with again?" he barley had time to register what happened before you grabbed his hand and dragged him to a corner of the library.
"i was wondering if you could help me with the history project. i think i understand it, but at the same time i don't, you know?" his face was scrunched up, he knew you were excellent at history of magic.
"uhh, you need my help, dove, you're sure?"
"of course, remus." you quickly sat down, moving some things so you had room to write and such.
"alright then." he quickly placed his bag down on the floor against the chair, before grabbing the papers in front of you.
you watched as his eyes scanned the papers. you quickly looked away, flustered at the thought of being caught looking at him. was it weird that you were watching him? would he think it was weird?
you searched for anything to look at, before seeing another guy. your eyes scanned him up and down from his blue converse to his white turtleneck. you turned to remus again, who was already looking at you. he quickly cleared his throat, before grabbing one of the books. he may have placed the book too close to his face causing him to hit himself.
"shit-"
"oh remus, are you alright?" you quickly cupped his face, checking to see the damage.
"i'm fine, just hit myself is all." he quickly rubbed his nose, before his eyes flickered to look into yours. you quickly placed your lips against his nose, to kiss it better.
"there, now you're all better." you said, letting go of his face before turning to grab the book he had.
"thanks, dove."
a kiss on the lips;
you stood in front of remus, after a long night of being alone together. you had finally managed to find the courage to tell how you felt about him.
your eyes watched remus as the cigarette in his mouth, you watched as the ash began to build up. "are you only going to stare, dove" his head tilted towards yours, his hand dragging the cigarette out of his mouth.
"what? oh- no." you turned your head fast.
"do you want a smoke?"
"no i'm fine, thanks though." you debated if you should tell him, there was a possibility that he might like you back. "remus?" he answered with a hum. "i love you."
it went silent for a couple minutes, before remus looked at you fully again. the cigarette that was once in his mouth was gone. "no you don't, dove."
"i do, i love you, remus. i'm in love with you." he stayed quiet allowing you to speak. "i've loved you since we first met."
"y/n, you don't understand."
"if you don't love me, i'll leave. tell me you don't love me." you shouted.
"it's not that-"
"tell me." you demanded, he continued to argue with you. he tried to deny his feelings for you. "tell me! tell me, remus! tell me you don't love me! tell me and i'll leave you alone!"
"of course i do! of course i love you! it's hard not to love you! but i'm- i'm a monster!" he shouted "y/n, why would you want to be with a monster?"
"you're not a monster to me, you're just remus." you tried to keep the tears bottled inside of you, but they had begun to spill out.
"dove, please don't cry. i do, i do love you. i have loved you for as long as i can remember."
"remmy-" remus quickly cupped your face before pulling you into a kiss. it felt like time had stopped around the both of you. remus pride your mouth open with his tongue, allowing it to roam around your mouth. you quickly pulled away, catching your breath. "i love you, remus."
"i love you too, dove."
notes: i may have made this too long and i honestly don't know what is going on. i might fix it later on, anyways i hope you liked it. xxx
you stood in front of the mirror. your white dress hitting the floor. the vail tucked into your nicely done hair. you had butterflies swirling all around inside of you. you tried hard to stomach the tears that wanted to fall out.
you loved remus, truly you did but marriage was scary. it was always a what if. what if it doesn't work? what if this what if that. you knew it would be just the two of you for the rest of your lives. inside that small cottage. you wanted it just like that too. remus wanted it more.
"you look beautiful y/n." lily said knocking you out of your thoughts.
"thank you, lils" you said ironing your dress with your hands. "am i supposed to be this nervous?" you said turning and looking at her.
"of course! your just having cold feet. god knows i was nervous marrying mary." she said while fixing her eyeshadow
"can you get him?" you asked making her stop and look at you.
"it's bad luck for-"
"i know, lily. i just need to talk to him, is all." you reassured her
"oh alright, give me a moment." she said walking out the room quickly.
you let out a shaky breath before turning back to the mirror. it felt like an entirety, waiting for him to come.
you heard a simple knock alerting you that it was remus. you quickly spun on your heels before cracking the door. "remmy?"
"hi dove, everything alright?" he questioned, he was nervous. there were so many thoughts going through his head. what if you wanted to call it off. what if this. what if that.
"everything's fine, rem. just needed to hear your voice." you mumbled, you slipped your hand through the door, feeling him press his lips against it before holding it in his.
"good. good."
"remmy, everything's going to be ok, right?" you asked, you were nervous but that was a given.
"everything's fine, love." he reassured, rubbing his thumb against the back of your hand.
"i didn't mean to scare you. just having some jitters, is all."
"i understand, 'it's normal' james keeps saying. dove?"
"yeah?" you could feel him slide your engagement ring up and down your ring finger.
"you want this, right? you're not scared of what the future is going to bring us?" he questioned, letting go of your hand entirely.
"of course i'm scared, it's a new chapter for the both of us, but i also know that you're the one i want to be."
"i should finish getting ready though, i don't want to be late." he joked
"yeah, don't want to be late to our own event." you added to his joke causing him to chuckle.
"alright, i'll leave you to it then."
"i love you, remus." you said before he turned and walked away.
"i love you too, dove." he said before shutting the door.
remus' eyes fluttered open, seeing your side of the bed empty. he furrowed his brows before sitting up. "dove?" he called out, wiping his eyes before scrambling out of bed. he walked out of the bedroom, making his way straight into the kitchen. seeing you, spreading the butter and jam on the toast. he slid his arms around your waist causing you to jump and turn around to see the sleepy sandy haired boy. "remus, you scared me!"
"hmm. what are you doing?" he asked while placing soft kisses to your neck. "making you toast with jam on it." he watched as you continued to spread the jam before turning around and facing him. "honey, go back to bed." you said swatting his hands off of you and kissing his nose. "no! i want to be with you, dove." he said reattaching his hands against yours.
"fine, here grab this, let's go." you said, remus turned on his heels and began walking towards the bedroom. he could hear you mumble something but ignored it. remus sat quickly, placing the plate alongside him. he watched as you entered the room, smiling as you walked up to him. he looked at you as you stood in-between his legs. his eyes didn't leave yours. he noticed you grabbed the plate again and picked up a piece of toast. "bite love." he quickly took a bite. the mixture of the jam and the butter fighting to top one another. the crunch of the toast making him want to melt.
"i wanna go back to bed, dove." he muttered before taking another bite. "i know but you forgot to eat dinner last night." you argued before placing you thumb against the corner of his lips and wiping whatever jam and butter got left behind. he watched as you quickly licked your thumb as he took another bite. "i need you to remember to eat, remmy. you can get sick if you don't."
"i know dove. i know. i just- i've been busy, is all." he spat quickly before watching you grab another piece and him taking another one. "no more love, full." he mumbled, watching as you smiled and moved the plate the dresser. he loved moments like this, it nade him fall more in love with you. "i love you remmy." you said wiping his lips. "i love you too, dove" he stood quickly "want to go back to bed, rem?" you questioned
"only if you join me, dove."
when you woke you could barely remember anything that happened the night before, let alone where you were. waking up in his bed. remus' bed. how did you even get there?
"morning." you heard from the door frame, remus holding two coffee mugs. you furrowed your brows "how?"
"take some advil and drink your coffee, then we'll talk." he said walking up to you and handing you a mug. "just how you like it."
you muttered a thanks before throwing two pills in your mouth and swallowing a gulp of coffee. the burning sensation running along your throat.
remus sat down next to you, sipping on his coffee before meeting your eye.
"what happened last night?" you said, trying to remember
"a lot." he said setting his coffee down and repositioning himself.

Pairing: Remus Lupin x fem!reader
Summary: You hated him. With every bone in your body, you despised Remus Lupin. He was always silently competing with you in all your classes. Whenever he got a grade higher than you, he would find a subtle way to rub it in your face. On top of it all, his friend group, the ‘marauders’- they called themselves, were revolted by you and your house. You were a slytherin after all, it was wired in their heads to hate you. But, Remus was the worst of them all. At least the others had the curtesy to laugh in your face after a ‘prank’, but Remus. Oh, Remus, would just stand in a corner and penetrate you with his cold gaze. For 7 years, you and your friends had been the butt of their cruel jokes. It all changed one day, when you both got stuck in detention together after an unreasonably cruel prank orchestrated by his friends.

(Let me know if I’ve missed any.)
Sunlight streamed through the tall windows, catching dust motes dancing in the air. The Charms classroom buzzed with quiet energy, desks scarred by years of spellwork, shelves lined with humming, glowing artifacts. At the front, Professor Flitwick stood atop a stack of books behind the podium.
“Before I announce the highest scorer of last week’s exam, I want you all to take this student as inspiration, and push yourselves to do better. Remus Lupin, secured a perfect grade, coming first once again!” The tiny professor beamed.
Wonderful. This is just what you needed, Lupin beating you in yet another class. You were seriously considering jumping off the astronomy tower at this point. It was fine at first, you were able to beat him in most classes till 5th year, but 6th year - something changed. Remus changed.
He looked different, his shoulders were broader, his hair longer and messier- cascading like dominoes on his face, he had more scars than before, but you didn’t care enough about him to question it. He even seemed more confident, dare you say more outgoing? He was probably going through late puberty, you could not let his new persona get to you. It was Lupin after all, you loathed him.
After the class ended, you made your way out, a sour look plaster across your face. A cold arm brushed against yours, you looked up and your eyes met Remus’ eyes, he held his test paper up, grinning at you.
“Oh fuck off , Loony Lupin.” You spat, pushing past him.
“Oi, Y/n, you playing quidditch today?” He questioned.
“Why should I tell you? So you and your thick headed lot can pull another one on me?” You rolled your eyes.
“I’ll take that as a yes then!” His voice called after you as you walked away.
The day went by quickly, you made your way to the quidditch field after classes, to join the rest of Slytherin team.
“Y/n!” Your best friend’s called, hugging you from behind.
“We have the field booked for the entire evening today!” She explained.
Halfway through practice, twenty feet in the air, you noticed something odd. Your team captain seemed to be loosing control of his broom. Followed by the chasers and then the beaters, they all suddenly started wobbling and spinning uncontrollably on their brooms. You knew immediately who was behind this. Looking down, you saw James Potter, Sirius Black and Peter Pettigrew laughing hysterically. But Remus, Oh Remus, was just standing in a corner, his gaze not shifting from your direction. Right on cue, your broom started to act funny, your efforts to gain any control of it failed and all of a sudden, you were free falling.
“Arresto Momentum!” A familiar voice shouted.
The speed you were once falling with reduced miraculously, causing you to land safely on the ground. You stood up, mustering all the strength from your body, and charged to the imbeciles responsible for this.
“YOU ABSOLUTE ARSES! I’M GONNA HEX YOU INTO NEXT WEEK!” You shouted at them, reaching for your wand.
“Oh relax Y/l/n, it’s all good fun.” Sirius said.
“Good fun? The rest of the Slytherins are hanging on mid air for their bloody lives!” You countered.
“Don’t be so dramatic-“ James started, but you cut him off.
“Please. If I had your need for attention, I'd hex myself just to get sympathy. At least my personality doesn't rely on harassing innocent people to be interesting." You pointed your wand towards the three of them.
“Y/n, calm down.” Remus’ voice came from behind you. You snapped your head in his direction.
“You shut up. Don’t act like you’re any better than your pathetic little friends!” You spat.
A tinge of anger spread across his face as he reached for his wand.
“What is going on here!!?? Put your wands away right this instant!” A shrill voice demanded.
“Professor Mcgonagall! I was just-“ You tried to explain, but she didn’t care to listen.
With one flick of her wand, the Slytherin team landed safely, but furiously on the ground.
“Save it Ms.Y/l/n. Detention. For you as well Mr.Lupin.” She said, walking away.
You made your way to detention in the trophy room the next day. The air smelt like metal polish, Remus sat with a polishing cloth and a few plaques in his hand, rubbing them vigorously.
“You are not permitted to use magic to finish this task. I will be back in an hour.” Mcgonagall said as she walked out of the room.
You took a seat at the opposite end of the room, as far away as possible, from the brown haired boy. You picked up an old trophy and begin scrubbing furiously.
“You think this is funny, don’t you?”
“No. I think it’s detention. What’s funny about that?” Remus said, not looking up.
“You know you guys could have really hurt someone today! You obviously don’t give a shit though. If whoever performed the ‘arresto momentum’ spell did it a few seconds later, I could have died-“
You were yelling, but you got cut off my him.
“I was the one who performed the spell.” He said, through gritted teeth.
What? Was he telling the truth? Why would he do that? No. It’s still not okay.
“That’s cold comfort! You could have stopped them, but you didn’t! That says enough about you.” You spat.
He was no longer sitting in the corner, he was marching in your direction.
“I don’t need you of all people to be judging my character.” He was angry now. Anger you never saw on him before.
“Why? Did I lie? I’m telling the truth, aren’t I? You act like you’re above all of it. But you’re just as cruel as your friends when it suits you. Godric, I hate you and your lot.”
You kept going. It was almost like word vomit. You could see he was getting really provoked now. He didn’t say anything, just kept walking closer to you. You were standing against the desk now, your fingers gripping it, so you didn’t fall backwards. He was extremely close to you now. The warmth of his breath grazed your skin. Merlin’s tits, when did he get so beautiful? Every logical part of you was telling you to push him away, but something deep inside made you do something you never thought you would.
You grabbed his collar, breathless from arguing, and pulled him into a kiss. Remus didn’t hesitate, he gave in before your lips even brushed. His hands gripped your ass and lifted you upwards, sitting you down on the table. His kiss grew sharp and urgent, slightly biting your lips in between breaths.
“Look at you, can’t think of any snide remarks now?” He said, looking you in the eye, a wide grin plastered across his face.
“Oh shut it Lupin, you know you want it more than I do.” You replied.
He took that as a challenge, his hand moving up your leg, finding your soaked underwear.
“You’re so wet for someone you claim to hate, dove.” He cooed.
His fingers glided over your pussy, your warm slick coating them. You whimpered
as he hit your sensitive clit, legs twitching in response. The taste of iron coated your tongue, biting down as a pathetic effort to try and keep quiet. You felt a familiar knot in your stomach about to be released.
“I didn’t finish-“ You mumbled, as he pulled his digits out.
“D’you think I’d let you cum so easily, love? No. You’re gonna feel every inch of me before I let you cum. I’m going to fuck the hatred you have for me out of you.”
He kissed you again, unbuttoning his shirt. His body was covered in huge scars. The largest one was a violent gash against his abdomen. You trace your palms against the marks, gingerly placing kisses along them. His hands found your jumper, ripping it into half and throwing it across the room.
“Hey! That was my favourite jumper!” You exclaimed.
“Don’t worry, love. I’ve got plenty more you can borrow.” He replied, cooly.
He looked at you, waiting for approval, before pushing his pulsing cock into you.
You wanted to scream at the size of his member. He moved with a steady speed, your vision was going blurry as he continued to speed up. Feeling your high building up again, he held back his own, wanting to finally release together, he lifted a hand off of your ass, circling steadily over your little button to push you over the edge.
White coated your vision as you came all over Remus’ cock. He pulled himself out, hovering above you.
“Still hate me, dove?” He grinned.
“Just a little.” You rolled your eyes.
He leaned in and pulled you into another quick kiss before helping you get dressed again. You looked at the sad remains of your favourite jumper as Remus gave you a spare one from his bag. It smelt like chocolate with a hint of smoke. It smelt…comforting.
Godric’s balls, y/n. What have you gotten yourself into?
Pairing : Remus Lupin x Reader
Summary : The stress of your final year at Hogwarts was getting to you, with NEWTs coming closer, you were an absolute mess. You were avoiding everyone, especially him.
“Meet me at our spot?” Remus asked one afternoon, obviously you couldn’t say no. The stress of exams lead you to confess something you never thought you would.
Warnings: Fluff and Mild language.
Author’s note: Hey cuties, this story/fic has no specific gender for the reader , so I’m just gonna tag it ‘x reader’. I wrote this as a way to cope with my own exam stress 😔( instead of studying ofc). Happy reading xx.
“The essay on ‘The Draught Of The Living Death’ is due this week, remember -16 inches of parchment! Class dismissed.” Professor Slughorn’s announcement met with disappointed sighs from the students. Great, you thought to yourself. One more bloody thing to add to your to do list. You ran your fingers through your hair, coating them in grease. Oh god. How long had it been since you washed your hair? You didn’t even look in the mirror anymore, infact you were pretty sure you weren’t even wearing the whole uniform. They weren’t joking about NEWTs (nastily exhausting wizarding test) , it earned its name. But it’s fine, studying is good. Studying is better than thinking about him. You forced yourself off the desk and tried not to collapse on the floor due to exhaustion.
“You look like hell.” Remus said, placing a hand on your shoulder.
“Gee thanks, Moony. Always knew how to make a girl feel good about herself.” You replied, sarcastically.
You and Remus made your way to the great hall for lunch, and joined the rest of your friend group.
“Merlin…. What happened to you, y/n?” Sirius asked.
“What is it with everyone today?! Am I the only one who’s not able to keep up with all the work the professors are throwing our way?!” You snapped.
“Well, we do have our NEWTs this year-“
James said, getting cut off by Lily.
“Oh leave her alone! I’m just as exhausted as you, y/n. Honestly , I’m hanging on by a thread.”
The lot of you finished your lunch in silence, exam season was really getting to everyone.
You made your way to the library, not lifting your gaze from the book in your hand, when you bumped into a tall figure.
“Bloody hell, you’re really loosing it, aren’t you?” Remus joked.
“Yea. How aren’t you?” You asked, but you already knew the answer. Remus Lupin ,the smartest student in your year. He never got anything less than an ‘O’ in all his exams, yet he always remained calm and collected. You wanted to ask him how he did it, but you didn’t want to sound like you were praising him or anything. Ew. You guys didn’t do all that sappy bullshit.
“Eh, you know me.” He said, casually.
“I’m worried about you, love. You seem so stressed. Meet me at our spot? After classes? It’s been a while since we’ve had one our ‘chats’. “ He said, giving you that warm Remus Lupin smile that always made you melt. Ugh. Get your shit together, y/n.
“Um. Yea. Okay. I’ll see you there.” You smiled and walked away.
After an unbearably long time, classes had finally finished for the day. You remembered your promise to Remus, dropped your things off in your dorm, and made your way to the Whomping Willow. It had been ‘your spot’ since third year, when you found out about Moony’s furry little problem. You saw Madam Pomfery guiding him to that eldritch tree one night, curiosity took over and you decided to investigate. Remus wasn’t thrilled when you confronted him, but he grew fond of talking to you about things he couldn’t talk to others, not even the marauders. They knew about him being a werewolf, but they didn’t understand or listen to him like you did. So, atleast once a week, you and Remus found yourselves sitting under the Whomping Willow and emptying out the greatest sorrows of your hearts. You laughed and laughed for hours, till neither of you even understood why you were sad in the first place. Remus had this effect on you, he made you feel seen. Not that no one else saw you, but seen in a way no one else had before. Seen and heard. You didn’t want to admit it, but Merlin…. The things you would do for Moony.
The weather was pleasant in an odd way. It wasn’t too sunny nor was it gloomy, it was a perfect mix of clouds and slight wind.
“Y/n!” Remus waved at you, as he laid down under the tree. There was a knot in the tree he would press with the help of his wand, to stop it from crushing you both to your deaths.
“Hiya, Moony.” You laid down right next to him, turning to his side to face him.
“Not handling the NEWTs stress very well then?” He asked.
“What does it look like?” You said, gesturing to your pathetic state.
Remus reached into his pocket and offered you some chocolate. You couldn’t refuse. This was one of the things you loved about him so much, no matter when no matter where, your moony always had chocolate with him. He even smelt like it at this point.
“I miss you.” Remus whispered.
“I’m right here.” You smiled, a tinge of guilt settling in your stomach. You had been avoiding Remus. You loved him so much, he was your person, but you started to develop new feelings- feelings you didn’t recognise- towards him, so you being you, decided to distance yourself from him. He was your best friend, he was moony for Merlin’s sake. Whatever stupid new feelings you had were best kept suppressed.
“No you’re not. I get it, y/n. NEWTs are stressful, but you cannot keep pushing me away like that. You’re my best friend.” Remus complained, tucking a strand of your stray hair behind your ear.
Friend. That word friend made something inside of you hurt. It was strange, you never thought being called ‘best friend’ by Moony would make you feel any shade of sadness, but thats what it was doing.
“Well, that’s the problem, isn’t it?” You blurted out. You didn’t care if he knew now, it was paining you too much to keep it all in.
An addled look spread across Remus’ face.
He took you by your wrist and rolled you towards him, pulling you into a tight embrace. You both started to laugh uncontrollably.
“Oi! Loony Lupin! Let me gooo!” You protested, squirming against his grip. You didn’t want to admit it, but you felt so safe in his arms. Nothing could go wrong right now, not when Moony was holding you.
“Never! Not until you tell me what that meant.” He chucked into your shoulder.
You stopped laughing and looked him dead in the eye. Can’t you tell? Look me in the eye, Remus. Can’t you tell that I’m in love with you? You thought to yourself, but obviously, you couldn’t say that.
Suddenly, you noticed how close the two of you actually were. His hands were around your waist, both your faces inches away, you could feel his warm breath against your cheeks.
You jerked upright, escaping his grip, and stood up.
“Right, erm… I’m gonna go-“ You mumbled.
“Y/n! Stop! Why are you being like this?” He shouted after you.
“Why am I being like this? How thick can you be!!?? Honestly Remus, for someone so smart, you really are dumb.” You spat, not caring what he thought.
“What are you talking about, y/n?” He stopped you from walking, standing too close to you for your liking.
“I’m bloody in love with you, you fool.” You managed, your voice barely a whisper.
Well, thats the end of your friendship with Remus Lupin. He was probably gonna laugh in your face now, with the rest of the marauders of course. But wait, he wasn’t laughing- his eyebrows creased as a delicate smile spread across his face.
“Oh love, why didn’t you just say so?” He closed the distance between the two of you by pulling you into a deep kiss. You kissed back, maybe too eagerly, but you didn’t care. You had waited for this for so long, your insides felt like a rollercoaster, as he wrapped an arm around your waist.
You pulled away and looked at his face, he was completely undone.
“Maybe instead of avoiding me and drowning yourself in school work, if you had told me how you felt, you would’ve found out that I felt the same way.” Remus said, kissing your forehead.
You smiled. Remus and you, under the Whomping Willow- your spot. Everything was okay now, you felt normal again, after so long.

It was rather obvious…
Matylda had liked Remus. They’d admitted that to themselves a long time ago—long before they were ready to say it out loud. But it hadn’t stayed a secret for long. Your friends knew. The whole of Hogwarts practically knew. And, of course, Remus knew too. He’d known for some time.
The thing was—Remus knew you were kind. You’d always been kind, to everyone. Helpful, patient, thoughtful. But being kind and being in love were two very different things. And when his friends never missed a chance to tease Remus about it—when every interaction between you two became the subject of whispers and knowing glances—the last thing he wanted to do was feed into that fire. He wasn’t cruel, just… careful. Quiet. He wasn’t quite sure how to respond to that kind of attention, especially from someone like you.
So he said nothing. And you said nothing. And it lingered—like an unanswered question hanging in the air.
Then came winter. The wind bit like it had something to prove, sharp and full of warning. The castle’s stone halls offered some shelter, but outside, the air turned your nose red and left snowflakes clinging to your lashes.
You ran, boots crunching through fresh snow, breath fogging the space before your mouth as you dashed down the slope leading to Hogsmeade. The air stung your cheeks and made your eyes water, but you didn’t slow down. You’d seen him from a distance—his tall frame, that messy brown hair you’d come to recognize instantly—and it made your heart skip in a way that always surprised you, even now.
“Remus! Rem—!”
He didn’t stop. Not right away. You weren’t sure if he hadn’t heard you over the wind or if he was simply pretending not to. Maybe both. You pressed on anyway, heart thumping from more than just the run. Your scarf had slipped loose, your hands were starting to sting, but you didn’t care.
Finally, he paused. You caught the way his shoulders lifted with a soft, almost imperceptible groan. He didn’t turn around at first, but he’d stopped—so that was something.

"On my heart, where you're resting your head.
And you just look so beautiful.
It's like you were an angel.
Can I stop the flow of time?
Can I swim in your divine?
'Cause I don't think I'd ever leave this place."
“You’ve got options,” you said, holding up two tea bags for him to see. “Which will it be, darling?”
Remus was sitting on the leather sofa of Gryffindor’s common room with his legs propped up on a wooden coffee table.
Unfortunately, Remus ended up being assigned for a New Year’s Eve teacher duty for Gryffindor. At first, you’d been quite disappointed by the fact that you and Remus couldn’t attend New Year’s Eve ball organized in your beloved restaurant in Hogsmeade. It was your annual tradition to go there ever since you were teenagers. The tradition started after Lily and James had found the restaurant – it wasn’t very popular amongst Hogwarts students since it’s on the fancier side. But after going there once you all made a promise to save some money throughout the year so that all of you could go there at least once a year for the New Year’s Eve party. Lily particularly loved the place for the delicious food. She hadn’t been able to stop raving about it for at least a couple of days back at school. After their passing it felt mandatory for you and Moony to keep the tradition alive.
Even if it wasn’t for the teacher duty your plans would have changed anyway – full moon had fallen right after Christmas leaving Remus drained both physically and mentally. So, the change of plans kind of worked out for the better in a way. The idea of loud crowds and dancing was obviously out of the question. As much as you wanted to enjoy an evening out, you were glad to be with him in a way that didn’t push him beyond what he could handle.
Remus squinted across the room, clearly trying to see what you were holding up, but then he gave up with a small sigh. Leaning forward, he reached for his cane and slowly made his way towards you. The soft taps of the cane against the wooden floor were the only sound besides the crackle of the fireplace.
When he reached you, he stood for a moment, his head tilting as he scanned the options you held in your hands.
“Hmm,” he muttered, his lips quirking into a faint smile as he reached out. He plucked one of the tea bags from your hand, his fingers brushing against yours with a warmth that gave you butterflies.
“I’ll take this one.” He watched you as you carefully poured water into your mugs. You turned over your shoulder to shoo him away and make him settle on the sofa comfortably, careful not to spill the boiling hot water over yourself.
Just as you were about to hand him his mug, the portrait hole creaked open. The cold outer air mixed in with the warm, pine-scented air within the common room.
You turned your head, half-expecting it to be the Fat Lady herself popping in to complain about something. Instead, three familiar figures shuffled in, trying - and failing to move quietly.
Ron tripped, stumbling over the hem of his own robe.
“Shhh!” Hermione hissed, quickly grabbing his arm to steady him.
“I didn’t even say anything!” Ron whispered back, louder than necessary.
She sent him a deathly glare in response.
Harry, stuck in the middle, shot both of them an irritated look before glancing towards the sofa. His blue eyes widened when he spotted you and Remus, clearly realizing they weren’t as sneaky as they thought.
“Weee- we. Umm we-- weren’t expecting anyone to be up.” he said awkwardly, scratching the back of his head.
Remus raised an eyebrow, a small smirk tugging at the corner of his lips.
“Clearly…There’s nothing more subtle than tripping over your own feet, whisper-shouting, and holding the portrait hole open like you’re inviting Filch in for tea.”
You tried really hard not to laugh at your husband's remark. His quick wit was one of the main reasons why you fell for him in the first place.
Ron turned bright red.
“We weren’t doing anything! Just, uh, checking to see if—”
“You’re sneaking out." you interrupted, crossing your arms completely unable to hide the grin spreading across your face. Their shenanigans reminded you so much of yourself and the rest of marauders back in the day.
“No, we’re not!” Ron protested, which would’ve been more convincing if Hermione didn’t shoot him a sharp don’t-lie-to-a-teacher look.
“Alright, fine. WE ARE sneaking out…” Harry said. Honesty was the best approach in this situation.
“We just wanted to watch the fireworks over the lake. We’ll come right back, I promise.”
You exchanged a glance with Remus, who took a slow sip of his tea, clearly dragging out the suspense just to mess with them. You poked his side noticing Hermione’s pale face.
“Well,” he finally said, setting the mug down, “Fireworks over the lake, huh? Sounds nice."
“But let me guess — you haven’t thought this plan all the way through, have you?” Remus continued.
“What’s that supposed to mean?” Ron asked defensively.
“We have!” Hermione said quickly, holding up a piece of fabric.
“We’ve got the invisibility cloak.”
Remus tilted his head, looking at the cloak with mock seriousness.
“And how, exactly, are you planning to fit all three of you under it?”
Ron looked down at his feet.
“It might be a liiiittle bit snug.” You shook your head.
“Remus, just let them go. If they get caught, they will have something funny to talk about.”
Remus sighed dramatically, but there was a twinkle in his eye.
“Fine. But,” he said, pointing a finger at them, “if you get caught, don’t come crying to me and professor Y/N.”
“Deal!” Harry said quickly, nudging Ron and Hermione back toward the portrait hole.
“Happy New Year!” Ron called over his shoulder.
“Don’t stay up too late professor Lupin — you’re looking a bit peaky! Good night professor Lupin II! Love you both!”
Remus chuckled, shaking his head.
The portrait closed, and you tucked yourself into his side.
“I swear to merlin that boy has absolutely no sense of self-preservation.”
He looked down to search through his pocket to grab his cigarette box and a lighter.
“We’re such pushovers for them.” You said laughing.
“Maybe so,” he admitted with a sincere smile.
He held out his cigarette box motioning to the balcony.
“Fancy a smoke ma’am?”
“Baaad, bad influence Lupin.“
He smirked, lighting his cigarette as he held the balcony door open for you.
“I’ve been called worse.”
You stepped out into the crisp night air, wrapping your arms around yourself.
“But ‘bad influence’ suits you tonight.” He lit your cigarette.
“Only on special occasions.” he said with a grin, blowing a stream of smoke.
“I can’t believe Ron called me ‘Professor Lupin II’.”
“See? You’re the second Lupin on the list. Maybe being soft isn’t so bad hun.“
You nudged him lightly with your elbow. He wrapped his arm around your waist and huffed with laughter into your hair.
In the distance, you could see the first flash of fireworks lighting up the sky over the lake, shimmering almost like falling stars, leaving a trail of glowing sparks that slowly disappeared into the night.
“Happy new year love.”
