TRIP IN TIME: Pioneering Pilots

Patricia Kendall’s journey into aviation began as a clerk for the United States forest patrol. From the local office in Alameda, she directed pilots to fires around California and gathered data.

One day in 1931, with a student’s license in hand, Pat went for her first solo flight around the bay and soon after joined the pilot staff of the San Francisco Bay Airdrome in Alameda in September of that year.

At the Airdrome, Pat became aide to Douglas Warren, head of the division of air traffic law enforcement.

Appointed by Alameda Police Chief Vernon Smith after the passing of Warren, Pat became the country’s first official female air cop, according to newspaper reports.

Pat and her pet poodle, Goofus, kept the air and homes of Alameda safe from daredevil fliers long before the days of commercial airfare.

USS Harry S. Truman Strike Group Flyover

The U.S. Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron, the Blue Angels, flew over Nimitz-class aircraft carrier, USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75), on a return transit to Naval Air Station Pensacola following their annual flight over the U.S. Naval Academy commissioning ceremony May 20, 2020. The Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group (HSTCSG) remains at sea in the Atlantic as a certified carrier strike group force ready for tasking in order to protect the crew from the risks posed by COVID-19, following their successful deployment to the U.S. 5th and 6th Fleet areas of operation. More French Air Force ‘Patrouille De France’ at Mather For the first time in 31 years, Patrouille de France is doing USA tour from March 17 until May 6. This USA tour is to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the United States entry into World War I and to reaffirm the historic ties between France and the United States. This operation in North America will mobilize more than 70 airmen, pilots, mechanics, support staff, 10 Alphajet, 1 Airbus A400M Atlas and 25 tons of equipment, demonstrating French Air Force reach capabilities. Elite French Air Force Group Joins the California Capital Airshow early this year The show in Sacramento is on April 15 2017 . April 15 is the only West Coast performance the group will be doing, out of an eight-city U.S. tour. Moscow-Helsinki-London-Vancouver Alright, that wasn't the best flight ever( hello #britishairways )but there were noo noisy babies in front or behind me! That was kind of cool, ahah.

This view, this atmosphere, sky, sun, landscape, ocean, these clouds. All it makes spending 9 hours on the 11000 meters high even more interesting. Well, yeah, you have to be in the same place for that long time, but still, I can't say that it is boring, or something else, you know 🌄🌅💺✈️
