Sooooo-

I took my universe "Unmasked" seriously, and thought of the idea with the view of Edward (scp-049)

I will attach the reference lists at the end of the post about Magpies and Crows. (warning: there is artistic nudity in the drawings)

Also, you can share your thoughts in the comments, like or reblog, it will be interesting for me to read your comments and see your reaction, whether I post such posts or not

There are two sub-races in Edward's race: Magpies and Crows

Magpies

(Example: a man drawn from memory from the drawings of object 049)

Sooooo-

CROWS

(Example: Edward Haselhurst, currently referred to as object 049)

Sooooo-

Magpies are long-lived, but they do not have a very long life span like Crows, about 500-700 years.

Magpies in the Middle Ages were kept as pets with whom you can talk (if they had at least a little brain present). Peoples were not afraid of them, and they were seen as just cute little animals. They were semi-wild, and had smaller sizes, and the color was not completely black, but black with white stripes

Crows are long-lived++, if Magpies still have a life limit, about 500-700 years, then Crows can live from 6000 to 7000 years(The average value is taken).

Their peculiarity is also included in the fact that they can accumulate useful substances for the body in order to spend them correctly in the future if some critical situation happens where they will have to not eat for a long time. Edward abuses it, alas, because he literally won't eat because he works or something like that. Sometimes he does it just because he doesn't see the point. They can also "overeat", literally. After a few days of hunger strike, for about a week, they need to eat at least something so that their body does not begin to self-destruct. Edward carries useful herbs and dried fruits for this, so yes, sometimes he can be found at the table sucking on a dried tangerine slice or prunes.

Also, crows do not necessarily need sleep, they can stay awake for about three days, after which they will begin to feel tired. That is, yes, they will be awake for three days, and then they will feel tired if they do not sleep for at least 8 hours.

Crows were taken as pupils or children, because they were distinguished by a good mind, memory and obedience, but mostly they were bullied because they were "dangerous", but the most desperate were taken as pupils and children, as happened with Edward and Father Gabriel (I'll tell you about him later, just for reference I will say that he is a church minister)

The danger of "crows" manifested itself only when they were frightened or tried to attack.

Edward is anxious, and he is in this state almost always, because he has lived a fairly long life and remembers some moments well, especially when he is focused on something or thinking (and he does this often). When he is relaxed or in quiet company, his skin is not dangerous.

And a little bit about the "pestilence"

As I said a long time ago, the craze is about "bad people", that is, those who have a dirty soul. But here it's a little different, I decided to rewrite this moment, but I left the main idea the same.

Pestilence - is a state when Edward experiences uncontrollable fear next to some person, that is, in this way he killed his observer, because he began to raise his voice at him and accuse him, and people who "radiate an unpleasant aura" (yes, he feels the human aura well).

A small note, Edward forgot exactly what he called a pestilence, and because of the moment with Alagadda, where almost all people/creatures radiated a rather vile aura, he called it a disease. + because of the knowledge about necromancy that he received from there, he decided that he would "heal" people from the pestilence, that is, literally make their soul become pure. It is logical that after death the soul goes to another world, and Edward does not feel an unpleasant aura, because it literally does not exist.

In the most fucked-up situations, like shootouts, violation of conditions of detention by objects, he enters Berserk mode and kills everyone who radiates a "bad aura". If under normal conditions he can control himself and restrain himself, then in the "Berserker" mode, that is, unconscious mode, he can kill not only enemies, but also associates, so when something like this happens, and Edward may have such a breakdown, he is locked in a rather cozy chamber with noise insulation, and they leave him there until the foundation deals with the whole situation.

I just watched the new Jim Henson documentary…

Overall it was very good, well paced, great visuals and editing. I learned a lot about Jim Henson and the company that I didn’t before and more behind the scenes that I hadn’t seen/heard which is always a treat!

I cried three times. 🫣👌 I had to fight the primal urge to pause the documentary and point out to my family where and what movie/show/episode every clip was from. This was my “did you know Viggo Mortensen actually broke his toe” scene.

I will say, I do think they very QUICKLY went over the disney merger and didn’t even mention the fallout with Disney after Jim’s death.

———————

The main problem I had was that SOME puppeteers got spot lights, interviews or arrows pointing out the individuals. And while I appreciate that these individuals got some recognition (which they 100% should), I think the documentary should have been consistent and do this with every new important/fundamental puppeteer to the film.

I Just Watched The New Jim Henson Documentary…

I alreay have!!! I was able to EASILY point out Karen Prell, Louise Gold, Richard Hunt, Jerry Nelson, Kevin Clash, Steve whitmire, etc. But an average viewer wouldn’t know who is who and what they contributed to the company!

I just think it’s intriguing who they chose to highlight and who they left out.

And I’ve noticed this happen in other muppet documentaries, like “Street Gang,” where they barely glossed over Richard Hunt and Jerry Nelson’s contributions to the show. (I’ve mentioned this problem here before. (Queer erasure during pride month? 🙄))

It would be such an easy problem to fix! Just a quick arrow to point out any new puppeteer or cast member to the Jim Henson Company. Maybe list their job/their characters so a main stream audience could identify them.

I can think of several founding members who are still alive today that were not interviewed. Maybe these people were asked to come in, IDK, but I would have loved to hear from more people you don’t hear from often.

I could definitely tell the documentary was really trying to avoid the “Steve Whitmire” sized elephant in the room, even though he was in SO MANY shots. I can guarantee that if he was still with the company he would have been featured heavily in the documentary.

———————

One last thing…

They interviewed Michael Frith, where was my girl Kathryn Mullen?? (His wife.) She hasn’t done anything in over a decade, are you okay?? Blink if you need help. 👁️👄👁️😐😑😐😑

For all the people who are dismissing the first episode of Chernobyl because it's too unrealistic and dumb, go and listen to the Chernobyl podcast.

Craig Mazin explains all the events that happened in the first episode and the podcast delves into the accuracy of all the events portrayed in the episode. It's a really great mini series and very relevant in our time when our entire planet is fighting this invisible war of bringing the truth to the surface. The series is a stunning, detailed and emotional retelling of a horrific event that most of us chose to ignore blissfully and has shaped modern history. It reminds us, how humanity is our worst night mare and best hope.
