Autistic experience or everyone experience?
I was only diagnosed as an adult, so I’ve been thinking back and wondering if specific sensory experiences are more of an everyone experience or autistic experience. Let me know if you have felt these and whether or not y’all have/are autistic.
-vitamin filled drinks of any sort burn your throat
-honey in tea does not soothe the throat it makes it dry
-volume of public toilets flushing is unbearable
-there is not a single type of comfortable clothing tag. They are all evil
-squishy/slimy with chunks is an abominable food texture, which makes anything from porridge to pie to stew very hard to manage
-tennis shoes have to be tied the exact same tightness
-leaning against warm store deli cases and cars pleases the inner lizard greatly
-stuffing urself in a very small space where you are hidden and gently squished is Very Good (unless ur claustrophobic, which I am not)
-have to climb. I am in a tree. Wedged in the top of a doorway. On the roof. Somewhere I haven’t been told not to go.. anyway my parents tossed me at rock climbing gyms
-fridge is good hum. Lights are bad hum.

Practicality with Poise and Purpose
Libraries are becoming one of the only true public spaces in community, and not all communities have them. As we become more developed and cramped for space, parks are dwindling and most other places to explore and learn also cost money: museums, gallerys, etc. Libraries are also unique as they not only provide education access to books, movies, or night classes sometimes they also are public spaces that hold discussions and talks where those who are not as connected to the community or have a unique or newly peaked interest can explore and connect.
Growing up in a wealthier neighborhood, my local library expanded to introduce scientific talks with epidemiologists, chemists, pharmaceutical companies where these guest lectures would visit and speak, but then give us the ability to ask questions, and have discussion among ourselves. Overtime, similar topics brought similar people together and you got to meet those in your community that you became more attached to that you otherwise wouldn’t have known. Similar to more common library activities such as Mahjong, these events allowed that connectivity in diverse groups, with diverse ages and unique topics. It is important to remember that libraries as public spaces are not just for education or history knowledge, but future growth and exploration, discussion, a diverse community engagement and equality.
The politics behind the WLF.
Been playing the game since October and have always wondered what exact politics the WLF might follow.
They’re a group of paramilitary fighters who emerged out of the Seattle QZ in the early 2020s. The WLF started off innocent enough, peacefully protesting against FEDRA about the lack of food and rights for its civilians inside the QZ. the WLF then began to promote anti FEDRA sentiment, producing propaganda posters and encouraging others to join their cause. FEDRA responded violently and began a hard crackdown on all protests, Torres, the leader of the Seattle QZ ordered that all WLF protesters be shot. This lead to the Thursday Market Massacre.
The Thursday Market Massacre occurred when protesters were peacefully demonstrating for food. After this attack WLF numbers soared, the people of Seattle seeing them as freedom fighters, even a few in FEDRA defected to join their cause.
The WLF fought a guerrilla war against FEDRA and ultimately won. Now with no regime in power they stepped up. The WLF started a brutal crackdown on those who disagreed with them. They enacted strict rules and regulations. Soon the WLF were no better than FEDRA, they killed anyone who stumbled into Seattle, as they deemed them “trespassers” they began a war with the Seraphites, even shooting a group of Seraphite children in a case mentioned by Manny and Mel.
Issac Dixon is a power hungry dictator who wants to destroy the Seraphites and rule Seattle under the banner of the WLF, he wastes countless lives in the invasion of the Seraphites island, ultimately dying during this crusade, and most likely the rest of the WLF either splintered out or were killed.
To me the WLF are a left leaning authoritarian paramilitary organization. They began fighting for the rights of the people and were well liked and respected by the community, but after the war with FEDRA they became ruthless and power hungry.
Idk tell me what you guys think, just my personal thoughts.
People talk about gifted kid syndrome but people don't talk about just being the kid who liked to learn surrounded by people who don't. It's harmful to tell kids they're special and gifted and instill in them high standards and expectations, but it's also harmful to be someone who just enjoys learning and understanding the world around them yet also be surrounded by people who can't or have no desire to.
Struggling due to impossibly high expectations is one thing, Struggling bc no one around you has the desire or ability to reach the expectations is another.
Maybe it's because society encourages children to hate school and education (maybe because the public education system in the us is awful), but it's such a strange, haunting sort of loneliness to constantly seek to move towards a light while everyone around you is either too foolish or too blind to even see it.
Forgetting about an oc is like accidentally leaving your child behind somewhere or in a locked car on a hot summer's day

Saw Moana 2 with my school group earlier and it's made my mind twist so why not yap real quick on it? (Except I like yapping so yayy.. kinda long post lmao)

See, when I was younger I had shipped Maui and Moana HARD but a few years back when I had actually aged and became aware of, yk, people existing being a genuine thing, I learned of Moana's age and stopped shipping them bc obviously it's wrong (and it is! Reminder, minors should not date adults! Unless ofc it's like a few year difference or so)
But still, I had the thought lingering of shipping them later on, Maui's a demi god, he'll be too old for anyone mortal BUT when Moana becomes older and is a full grown adult it would be okay considerably
(That sounds a bit wrong now that I type it out and it probably is, but reminder I am a minor myself and do struggle with my own thoughts, intrusive or problematic, or normal, I struggle to think normally imo) BUT now that the 2nd movie is out, Moana is nearing 20 (canonically, I personally think she's older cuz her sister seems older than 3 but that could just be me)
And in this movie Maui and her seem so.. non platonic? He's calling her these nicknames, they're giving eachother looks, and they're all around acting how couples in fiction (and kinda irl I suppose) would! And I'm thinking 'okay well.. I mean, maybe this is going somewhere? Or maybe I'm just losing it'. Oh, but then ofc Disney just had to-
SHE BECOMES A DEMIGOD?? So like, now she's 'immortal'.. along with him.. and it's just- it's such a PERFECT set up for a couple! The lands are now reunited, they've been separated for quite some time, and they have an eternity to spend (if they don't croak at some God's hand 'dot dot dot' lmao) and grow and learn and share with eachother
So now I'm at a crossroads here, on one hand ,yes, it is technically legal and has such a good set up BUT it still seems so odd how he knew her at 16 and in the first film it's expressed that she is still young a lot, but also it wouldn't be the first time an immortal like being would wait or learn to love someone as they age or etc in fiction
I may go ahead and do my own AU and art and etc of it, Moana being near her thirties/late twenties when they get together actually/fully (IMO, I like that better) and such adventures and etc with the lands now being rejoined

This is really random but I think asking the question whether a character deserves redemption is a dumb way to have a deep conversation.
There has been so much debate on certain characters redemption but the main thing is whether they deserve redemption or not. But the thing about that question is that there is no answer that isn’t in some way personal. It changes on every person and will likely just lead to agreements rather than discussions.
Here’s some of my favorite questions to ask about a characters redemption that I think have sorted my feelings out about it.
1. What were the writers trying to accomplish with the character?
2. What message did this character bring? This is important especially in kids shows.
3. Was the redemption well done?
4. What were the characters reaction to the redemption?
5. Did the other characters forgive the character?
6. How did they do the redemption and why?
7. Why was this character redeemed?
8. Did they make up for their actions in any way?
All of these are more on the objective standpoint rather than one that changes person to person.
Now you can still ask if a character deserves redemption or not but it’s important to understand that we ourselves are not moral judges and the line between redeemable and irredeemable is nothing but based on our own perception.
I just think there needs to be a balance.

So the pub conversation is what confuses me. Is whatever's in the OIAR system on Alice's phone?
