after 2 years of ignoring it, i have finally done it. disabling animations actually disables the animations:
(i have no idea how i managed to forget about this for two entire years)

(also btw the figments are weak to physical attacks)

currently there are 2 different lore dumps that can be accessed through the npc:

he appears after you defeat the lich boss
you can also talk to him:
he sells a potion upgrade that will make potions heal 15 health instead of 10, it costs 25 potions.
new figment of destruction enemy.

don't you love it when the moment you start working on the final boss suddenly there is a million different features that need to be added?
