AAAAAAHHHH I HAVE A MATH TEST TMRW
Normally, I’m not so stressed, but I missed class this week (I was skipping shame on me 😭) and I have no clue what’s going on… Me and the math teacher are besties because he’s the coach of the golf team, so I’m scared of disappointing him with my bad test scores.
I also had a long lab in chem this week. It’s really sad because we got bad results even though we ran our trial for over and hour lol. I think it’s my lab partner’s fault because he keeps on putting his crusty fingers all over the cuvettes which is messing up the spectrophotometer. Hopefully he actually writes his part so it’s not another repeat of last year.
- Practice midterms for matrices
- Grade practice midterms
- Write lab report
- Debug binary system simulation
- Work on astro research paper
- Work on program applications
- Finish new deal research
- Finish college assessment
- Email people back 😬
Don’t ask me why we have a midterm in January… I have no clue.

Applying for college, should I be an environmental studies major or a communications major
I hate applying to schools so much, I have good grades but everything is so competitive. And I applied to a reasonable school for a non competitive major and DIDNT GET IN?!? what. I’m just so pissed cause I just need to get into a school so that I can stop worrying about it. I’m literally gonna rip my skin off
About how long did it take to complete all of your apps? Is it worth it applying to 10/12+ schools?
hi holy crap i forgot to respond to this! it took me about a few months of basically doing nothing but apps (i applied to 11 schools); in my opinion it was worth it as i only ended up getting accepted by 2, but it’s important if you’re going to apply to THAT many schools to start early. begin outlining your common essay in the summer. you’ll find that you can reuse supplemental essays between schools, but because of the sheer number of essays you need to write, time to revise and edit is still extremely important.
if you feel that applying to that many schools might be overwhelming (which it is), go over your list and ask yourself if you really want to go to each school on it. also, remember to apply to safeties and targets as well, and not overload yourself on the reaches. you want to optimize your options, especially financially, and applying and getting into multiple targets/safeties will give you much-needed peace of mind during the application season

ON APPBLR ASKS AND GETTING INTO A TOP SCHOOL:
So I’ve been getting a lot of rude asks recently that I’d like to address. A lot of my anons have claimed that I’m rude and unwilling to answer very specific questions on essays/extracurriculars. You know why I don’t like answering those questions? Because I REALLY TRULY believe that telling you exactly what I did WOULD NOT be in your best interests.
Let’s say your dream school is Stanford and you want to do EVERYTHING you can to get into that school! I was there a year ago so I totally get it!
Naturally you want to know exactly how you can get into Stanford because it’s easy when someone lays everything out for you right? So you ask me what I wrote about for my essays and what I did in high school and I tell you EXACTLY how things worked out for me. You end up writing about the same topics and doing the same things as me. Guess what’s going to happen? You open that fateful email and….. you got rejected.
You know why? STANFORD HAS ALREADY SEEN MY APPLICATION! They already know my passions, how I followed through on them, and exactly what makes ME unique. But when you do the same things and write about the same topics, all of those things aren’t unique anymore. And those things end up not even being genuine.
I’m trying to save you all from that rejection. I know it seems like the obvious thing to do: find someone that got in and replicate their success, right? But college admissions aren’t straightforward. There is no silver bullet. There is no way to be guaranteed admission to the school of your dreams (unless you have a couple million dollars to spare or your last name is Gates).
So when I refuse to answer a super specific ask, remember I AM DOING IT BECAUSE I CARE ABOUT YOU. I do NOT want you to do badly–if I thought that sharing my essays and details about my ECs would help all of you, I’d do it in a pinch.

Your girl got into her second top college (if not a tie for first?), Cal Poly at San Luis Obispo. I kid you not when I say I actually started to bawl. Not only did I get into one of my dream schools, but I was accepted to a college. That in itself was enough for me. On top of that, when I came home I got another acceptance letter from University of Alabama, another great school.
Guys, I’m just so happy!!! I feel like my work is finally paying off. My future suddenly looks so much brighter. Life is truly good.
