Did another drawing for this AU and tried something a little bit different with the coloring.

I feel like i should drop a little bit of their story so here is that if you wanna read that:

Dazai is the god of mortal judgement. People will pray to him, if they feel like gods have been to cruel to them. (Whether he actually listens to those prayers or not are an entirely different story though)

If he does in fact deem a gods actions as to cruel, he may either take away their godhood, limit their powers or in extreme cases get rid of them entirely.

In true "Justice is Blind" fashion, well he is blind but seems to sense both mortals and immortal beings vaguely in some other way. He can however see the god he has been send out to judge as long as the action is taking place.

Once upon a time Dazai set out to judge the fierce beast of corruption and sentenced it to limiting its power in order. However once the verdict was carried out the one standing in front of him was no mere beast but a god. The god of gravity Chuuya who had lost his memory wholly.

The scene in this artwork is the day Dazai lost his left arm to a group of gods seeking revenge and Chuuya in his corrupted beast form.

But thats all I am gonna tell for now. I've been sitting here for way to long both for the artwork and this stuff.

small idea i had after i wanted to draw smth very much different but that one song came up! I originally wanted to do a drawing with both of them together but decided to do the actual designs first... which ended up taking way longer than I had hoped for tbh.

Anyway still working on it so i am not going to go into detail in case I change stuff and I think that would be confusing.

Headcannons for them! (I mean not really hcs? Cause I made the au? so uh just canons in a way):

- They all went to the same highschool and thats where they met

- Higuchi had an big crush/friend crush/mild obsession w Akutagawa back in highschool (still kind of does) and actually only learned how to play guitar bc she found out he did and she wanted to simultaenuoesly be more like him and impress him (but she did grow to enjoy the activity personally)

- Akutagawa's vocals can get pretty deep and rough in the songs and its a little bit jarring to go from only hearing the music to actually seeing him because you got this gravelly ass voice coming from this cunty twink.

- Hirotsu taught the Akutagawa siblings guitar and music stuff, he also wanted to make his own music when he was younger but he didn't have the resources to produce it at the time.

- Tachihara has a bent nose it happened a long time ago (for unspecified reasons) but he puts on a bandaid when he's in his band persona bc he thinks its cool (its so corny is circles back around to being kinda cool)

I almost gave Akutagawa red laces but then I remembered what that generally means in lace code and I know its not always a mandatory coding rule but I changed it to purple (for lgbtq pride) to make myself feel better.

I tried to make references using the sheet music choices

The art is honestly barely connected to the themes...it was more like me trying to capture the feeling I get when listening to the climax of the song

The primarily monochrome color scheme is a reference to the White Noise music video

Hopefully Fyodor doesn't come off as creepy or scheming or anything guys he's actually just a silly guy

He also looks like such a fucking rat here I love him

Also the all white outfit is an unintentional reference to the Mersault uniform lmao

Thinking of doing a series of little arts with each member of the DoA band in the AU as a Will Wood song because they are Will Wood adjacent to me (blame Fyolai for excreting neurodivergence and non-conformity all over their songwriting /aff)

Anywayyssss first installment in the series we have Fyodor as White Noise!

Reasons for picking this song:

The song is generally agreed to have themes of meaning, specifically feeling things are meaningless and finding meaning for yourself in inherently meaningless things

Some people interpret the song to also be how capitalism and consumer culture strips art of meaning or waters down what is considered art and why

The last verse gives me inexplicable Fyodor energy (" you fill your head with thoughts you find you can't even feel. Try to make room in your skull but it's full them. All of the things that you think about think about thinking. I know it's hard, but they're not who you are: They're white noise. ")

Bonus: As far as I'm aware, this is the only Will Wood song that uses cello, so. :3

I just found out recently that Will said the song is actually about suicide and depression...but also as the extension its about not being able to find meaning even in the things you create yourself so it still works.

If anyone cares enough to theorise I would love to hear it <3
