F1 2024 Season Statistics
Hey everyone I'm em, a F1 and excel fan. This season I decided to create a spreadsheet to keep track of various statistics for each race of the season.
I had so much fun doing it this year and I'll definitely be doing it next season (I'm going to try and post each race dashboard as it happens). I'd love to hear what other statistics you want to see for next season as I'm in the process of planning/creating it. At the moment I've planned to add 'how many times they out qualified their teammate'. I'm also hoping to add penalties and weather for each race.

Most DNFs
I looked at how many times a driver DNF'd in the race and sprints. I also looked at how many DNFs there were for each race.
Main Points:
Oscar is the only driver (of those who raced in all 24 races) to not DNF - we love a consistent king
Alex had the most with 6 DNFs (thats a quarter of the races 😭), Checo had 5 DNFs and Lance, Lewis, Pierre, and Yuki all had 4 DNFs
Canada was the race that saw the most DNFs (it was a lil wet) with 5
Azerbajan, China, Monaco and Qatar all had 4 DNFs
We did have 3 races on the calendar with 0 DNFs which were Bahrain, Netherlands, and Spain - my question is were these races interesting for you guys?
Driver of the Day
The driver with the most driver of the days was.... drum roll please..... Lando Norris! He got driver of the day 7 times. Charles Leclerc was a close second with 5 times.
Fastest Lap and Pit Stops
McLaren may have won the most fastest laps thanks to Lando's 6 fastest laps but Red Bull had the most fastest pit stops with 10.
Teams that need to improve their pit stops next year:
Aston Martin
Haas
Mercedes
Williams
Each of these teams didn't get any fastest pit stops
Next year will see the removal of an extra point for fastest lap if you're in the top 10. What are people's thoughts on it? I personally will miss it because why else would you randomly have someone pitting so their rival doesn't get the extra point. I think it's fun and adds to the strategy aspect of it.

I was catching up on after race interviews and apparently Hulu thought there was a beaver on the track. 🤣🤣
For context Alex Albons mirror fell off and when the team told him he heard beaver and not mirror so the entire time he was racing he was looking for and thinking about the said beaver.
Oh the plights of being an English as a second language learner... Though not homophones, I can understand why he misunderstood the message, I too would think a mirror is a beaver if my engineer has a heavy accent and the speaker quality on the radio is shabby while I'm driving at 372 km/h

let me tell you about why redbull are fucking idiots for signing sergio perez over him.
in 2023, sergio perez scored 285 points of redbull's 860 for the season. His teammate, max verstappen, scored 575. The team in second place, mercedes, finished with 409 points, meaning redbull could have won both championships without checo.
meanwhile, VCARB, (alphatauri at the time) finished 8th in the constructors with 25 points. Yuki tsunoda scored 17 of them. The team in 9th, alfa romeo, scored 16, meaning yuki's points alone could have secured their place in the constructors championship.
in 2024, yuki tsunoda has made 11 Q3 appearances in 22 races, with 7 q2 and 4 q1 appearances. Meanwhile, sergio perez has had 13 q3 appearances, 3 q2 appearances and 6 q1 appearances. his teammate max verstappen, has only failed to reach q3 twice.
Max has scored 403 points of redbull's 555, with sergio only scoring 152. Meanwhile, yuki tsunoda has scored 30 of VCARB's 46.
Yuki tsunoda has also outqualified sergio perez on 9 different occasions this season, including when he qualified P3 in brazil.
