I went on Accutane in my 20s to try to straighten out my skin, to some success, but my skin IRL will never look like the faces I (currently) paint, no matter what I do. It's inspiring to see an artist I admire---I've been gleefully in love with Loish's work since the olden days of deviantart---out there doing the thing with their art.
Story time: I’ve had acne since I was 11. I inherited it from my dad. After almost 25 years of taking hormones to treat it, I went off the pill last year because I was tired of the side effects. The acne came back, and even though I had prepared myself for that beforehand, it’s still really challenging. I can’t help but feel a sense of shame when my skin breaks out. At the same time, I would never judge anybody else for having blemishes. Skin texture is such a complicated thing and I have so many emotions around it. So here are some drawings of pretty girls with blemishes - it helps me process some of these complicated feelings. And hugs to all of you who also suffer from skin problems - you’re not alone!
OP this is so beautiful!

Oh someone got our poem reference, @thescholarlystrumpet !
For anyone interested, the title of my flappers painting comes from a beautiful poem, "For the Goddess Too Well Known", by Elsa Gidlow, a British-born Canadian-American poet who published the first openly lesbian book of poetry in North America in 1923 (!), titled On A Grey Thread.
For the Goddess Too Well Known
I have robbed the garrulous streets,
Thieved a fair girl from their blight,
I have stolen her for a sacrifice
That I shall make to this night.
I have brought her, laughing,
To my quietly dreaming garden.
For what will be done there
I ask no man pardon.
I brush the rouge from her cheeks,
Clean the black kohl from the rims
Of her eyes; loose her hair;
Uncover the glimmering, shy limbs.
I break wild roses, scatter them over her.
The thorns between us sting like love's pain.
Her flesh, bitter and salt to my tongue,
I taste with endless kisses and taste again.
At dawn I leave her
Asleep in my wakening garden.
(For what was done there
I ask no man pardon.)
i have brought her laughing (to my quietly dreaming garden) ------------------------------ The scene: A smoky, velvet-lined speakeasy smudged carelessly somewhere in the pocket of a roaring, glittered New York City, 1924, nighttime. Prohibition is on, but the law books never really dissuade anyone from getting a drink, not if they know where to go. It sure as Hell doesn't stop Crowley from taking her Angel out for a drink, because Aziraphale wanted one. And hey, it's the jazz age, Crowley knows where to get weed again.
This painting is one half of a collaboration I did with my dear friend @thescholarlystrumpet, who wrote a fantastic companion piece on AO3 (Rated M, mind the drug use tag).
“I got something else to liven up your final night in town. If you’re feeling a little… daring.” Crowley looked sidelong at Aziraphale and arched one penciled-on brow. Aziraphale wiggled happily and slid off the stool to sidle closer, until her head was practically on the Demon’s bare shoulder. “Do tell.” Crowley tried not to shiver as she could feel the Angel’s breath against her heated skin, smell the heady potpourri of perfume, wine, and a pinch of ethereal sweat, taste it on her (currently unforked) tongue. She held up the expertly rolled joint between two fingers accented by red painted talons. “It’s been a very long time, I think, since we really… indulged.” Turning her head just so, nearly nose to nose with her friend. “Don’t you think we’ve earned it?” “Why, you wicked temptress,” Aziraphale murmured, her voice low and slightly breathless, sly smile belying any hint of admonishment.

Come celebrate the holidays in true Good Omens After Dark style, with filthy lyrics about our favorite angel and demon set to familiar tunes on GOAD's very first holiday album.
Seasonal secretions include "The 12 Days of GOADmas" (featuring a panoply of bird calls), "Satan Baby," "The Dildo Song," and "We Wish You a Soggy Christmas."
Be sure to secure your headphones in tight: this album ain't safe for work or polite family functions.

This is A DRAWING. What the actual fuck?
😍😍😍😍😍
I'm just out here doing the lord's work.
gotta appreciate the dedication gomens artists have to giving fem aziraphale absolute bazongas, tig ole biddies if you will
I am deceased. @chernozemm you have slain me.
The expressions are so wonderful. And the posture of the figures (especially the hands! 😍) And the composition as a whole, with the wings sweeping up to Crowley and down to Lucifer. Ugh.
Dead.
Let me be the answer to your questions, little Starmaker.
(I will be the morning star that swallows you whole)
The most adorable painting idea (as if I need another work in progress)
And yet...
Aziraphale talking Crowley to the cottage he bought and using his own wings to cover his eyes because is a surprise.
Crowley’s laughing ‘cause it tickles
This isn't really a timelapse, more of a collection of my WIP shots from the Flappers painting.
You can very clearly tell where I got frustrated with Crowley and repainted her.

I JUST HAD TO MAKE A SEPARATE POST TO MAKE SURE EVERYONE SEES HOW CUTE THIS AZIRAPHALE I PAINTED IS, OKAY. Crowley gave Aziraphale that headband to wear, because that's what the Starmaker does -- gives her Angel a halo of stars.

THE GOOD OMENS REFERENCE LIBRARY
You may know that sometimes it can be a real pain to search for a specific reference from Good Omens, like a detail from Aziraphale's costume, Crowley's expression in one particular episode, a piece of furniture in the bookshop...
That may be :
>> Their face profile, their body types, Crowley as an angel, every time period costumes, Soho street and floor map, the bookshop outside and inside, the bentley in different angles, their different hair style, hands details, alpha century nasa pics, Aziraphale's ring or Crowley's tattoo, Beelzebub from s1 or s2 ECT......
But also :
>> Face features and body studies with notes made by me
+ a free morpho and anatomy book in pdf from this Tumblr post :
So obviously this is going to be a big work and I need your help to build this library !
Everything will be separated in different # channels
If you have a great screenshot of Aziraphale's hands for instance, you can send it in the appropriate channel.
I will be sorting them and put them all in the Google Drive I'm working on with different folders.
In time, when enough material will be gathered, I hope this could become a Website on which everyone can have access ! (I'm looking for someone that knows how to do that btw)
Please be sure to check the # informations and # rules when you arrive !
See you there 🫶🏻
おー! これはとてもきれいですね! クロウリーの髪を見てください! そして太陽の光! 美しいアート。
Oh! This is so pretty! Look at Crowley's hair! And the sunlight! Beautiful art.
Crowley's pose in this is everything. 🤌
They're Not Talking
Happy Season 3, friendos.
S3 has been announced and my skin has cleared, depression is gone, throwing away my Prozac as my brain is now fully healed, my dad came back from buying cigarettes, my insomnia? Gone. Anxiety? Never heard of her. The sun shines and a nightingale sang on Berkeley square again

“I’m so happy finally to be able to finish the story Terry and I plotted in 1989 and in 2006,” Gaiman said in a statement accompanying Amazon’s “Good Omens” Season 3 renewal announcement Thursday. “Terry was determined that if we made ‘Good Omens’ for television, we could take the story all the way to the end. Season One was all about averting Armageddon, dangerous prophecies, and the End of the World. Season Two was sweet and gentle, although it may have ended less joyfully than a certain Angel and Demon might have hoped. Now in Season Three, we will deal once more with the end of the world. The plans for Armageddon are going wrong. Only Crowley and Aziraphale working together can hope to put it right. And they aren’t talking.”
Amazon MGM Studios head of television said Vernon Sanders added: “’Good Omens’ has checked every box for a clever, witty, and funny comedy that not only made it a success on Prime Video, but also made ‘goodness’ watchable and fun thanks to Neil and Terry’s immense creativity. The final season is sure to be packed with the same dynamic energy that our global customers have come to enjoy.”
Gaiman, who has a first-look deal with Amazon MGM Studios, where he is currently working on his “Anansi Boys” TV series, continues as executive producer, writer and showrunner for “Good Omens” Season 3. Rob Wilkins of Narrativia, representing Pratchett’s estate, and BBC Studios Productions’ head of comedy Josh Cole also executive produce.
“Good Omens” hails from Amazon MGM Studios, BBC Studios Productions, the Blank Corporation and Narrativia.
Can we hear a wahoo?
WE'RE GOING TO SOUTH DOWNS, BABY.
mood
I've been fighting the stupid lineart for 2 hours only to realise I've been using the wrong brush!!!! I'm kicking!!!
Hawaiian Shirt Crowley is such a post-divorce mood. I wanna draw him with a mai-tai on a beach, in a hammock.
I had to make a drawing of him.
Second pass on my previous sketch, using a mirror for reference on the faces this time around (last time was photo). Trying to keep the shapes looser and get the expressions natural. My default sketch style feels too rigid sometimes, so I'm trying to improve on that.
The original, a little too stiff in the posing and def too tortured on the expressions, imo.
A sketch of the Ineffable Boyos for a collab I'm doing with a dear friend and author.
Okay, so drawing shameless thirst trap art isn't typically my bag, but it's a bag I'm willing to hold because /r/GoodOmensAfterDark is a wild group of people that inspire me to draw all sorts of things, not just smut. Better yet, I can hold that bag while I work on my absolutely tepid line art skills. I've always eschewed learning proper line art in favor of painting stupid, elaborate, over-worked, over-detailed portraits because that's just the kind of ADHD I have. Simplify form? Me? Pah. But... But it's a skill I need to work on to become a better artist. And the only way to improve artistic skill is to, you know, produce art. Even if I don't feel like it. Even if practicing line art is like sitting quietly at the dinner table and eating my vegetables while my brother is playing the Sega Genesis in the living room already because he likes brussels sprouts.
