Great eared nightjar
being masculine just,,, makes me happy.
Being feminine isn’t like, ohhh my gosh the worst thing ever,
but it feels just
really good to be masc
oh hell yeah.
And in the dark, I can heart your heartbeat; I tried to find the sound.
But then, it stopped, and I was in the darkness, so darkness I became.

Fact #1037: Trans body positivity is one of the truest form of body positivity. Loving our bodies despite the gender dysphoria, loving our bodies despite how poorly society treats us because of the way our bodies are, loving our bodies despite the issues they give us, is true strenght.
“You stupid child! Why can’t you be like your sister!?”
Grian's mother spat. She had been yelling at him for the past half hour, it was over something dumb. Of course it was, it always was. ‘You didn’t clean your room!’ , ‘You got home before Pearl.’ or, ‘The house isn’t clean enough!’ were some of her favourite things to yell about. Grian wasn’t sure what she was actually mad about right now, but he had made the unfortunate mistake of speaking, which had earned him a slap to the face.
He stumbled backwards, hands twitching to cover his face, to cover the bruise he knew was forming. But he wouldn’t. Because he knows, if he dares to show that she hurt him, then she would just call him weak.
“..Ma.?” A small voice could be heard from the doorway. A small brunette girl stood in the faulty lights, silent tears running down her face. His mother immediately switched up, her face softening as she looked at her daughter, “Pearl sweetie, go back to bed.”
“But-”
“It's fine darling, everythings okay. Go to bed and I'll be up in a minute, okay?” Pearl nodded, glancing at her brother before scrambling back up the stairs.
“You.” She turned back to Grian, “Now look what you’ve done. You made your sister cry!” Grian didn’t look at her, keeping his eyes locked on the floor. “OI! Look at me when I'm talking to you! Did I fail to teach you manners!?” Ah, there it was. You look at her and she gets mad, you don’t look at her and she gets mad. Grian slowly turned his head to look at her, his eyes watering as a nasty purple was appearing on his face. “Oh don’t cry, you mistake.” She hissed, walking towards him. “Stop crying or I’ll give you something to cry about.”
He couldn’t help it. He’s 7 for god sake, if he needs to cry he’s going to cry.
A single tear fell, rolling down his cheek.
“Stop it! Stop making me look like a bad mother!” She hit him, causing Grian to stumble to the floor, the flood gates opening as he started crying. It was too late, he couldn’t stop crying now. “Stop crying!” She yelled, frustration evident on her face.
She crouched down, grabbing him by the face, “Maybe I should send you to another country, hopefully you’ll die.” She tightened her grip on his face, it felt like his jaw might break. Until suddenly she let go, taking steps back, “You better hope God will forgive you for your sins.” She turned, walking towards the door.
“Now, I have to go check on Pearl.”
Help me prove a point
Sometimes it really should be like that
Can we talk about how uncomfortable it is to correct somebody on your pronouns around other people you don’t know?
Like even when they tell you, oh please correct me, but like… if we’re in front of people whom I’ve never met… no probably not because I don’t know if exposing that information to these people is going to get me hate crimed or not.
Like, props to the allies for catching yourself, but if we’re in front of new people and you slip up, if I don’t correct you, let it pass please. If I want them to know I’ll correct you, but that’s not always information I want publicized.
Especially if the people we’re meeting are upper adults. I am at risk here. I do not stand on the same power level, if they choose to weaponize this against me, correcting them will do nothing.
You respect me, but I don’t know if they do, and I can’t take that risk.
