normal ocean creatures: ah. viva la sea. the blue, it is harsh but it is my love. i am a magnificent creature in a magical place
the deep ocean weirdos: i don't need oxygen to survive. i haven't eaten since the fall of byzantium. i have 300 eyes on my eyeballs. its been 14000 years since I've bumped into another life form. I'll kick anything's ass. nothing can kill me not even death
Reading Khaled Hossieni’s books when I was younger makes you love and appreciate what Afghanistan was before the civil war and the rise of the Taliban. To see and hear what else is happening rn in Afghanistan is heartbreaking, because it feels even more personal when you know what Afghanistan was. That is the power of literature, it connects you to cultures and real lives across the world.
Please keep the people of Afghanistan in your thoughts, and share, share, share. Women and children (particularly girls) will be affected first. They will die. They will leave in a terror filled life, in an open prison. They will be raped, brutalized, forced into submission and executed for any little mistake. Don’t stay quiet. Don’t absolve the ones at fault.
Don’t be quiet about Afghanistan.
feels like a friend who I grew up with has left my side
it's very cruel, painful and sad, but
I consider it my luck that I got to know and like you even if it was for a little while
thank you for all the beautiful memories
I hope you can rest now
Dear Alice
Israel launched 200 rockets against Gaza in under 10 minutes. 200 rockets. It is the middle of the night, and it is the night after Eid. Palestinian civilians do not have bomb shelters and sophisticated missile defense systems to protect themselves, they are left without protection as their world is blown up around them. Israel has also deployed ground forces into Gaza. We are watching genocide unfold. And I do not ever use that word lightly. This is genocide against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
renaissance in the 21st century
something that's been on my mind for a while is how a lot of people, mainly white women, think billie eilish's decision to wear baggy clothing n not sexualise herself is revolutionary but when it comes to brown / Muslim women using the same logic in which to cover themselves it's not considered so (and that's no shade, like I love billie but like)
What will it be next game? Place your bets now!
