Coda for both 5x06 and 5x07.

This began as a prompt I came up with that I wanted to flush out of my system, that Buck would focus heavily on the fact that he wasn’t wearing his LAFD shirt the day of the sniper, that he would feel like it should have been him because otherwise he would have been the obvious target. Then I had another idea about the curandera we saw in Lone Star, and I forgot that Eddie mentions one in “Jinx.”  So then I put these prompts together and then it grew and grew.  And all of this I wrote without even realizing this kinda’ fits in with Whumptober.

COMPLETE

After Buck takes Eddie home from the hospital, something happens at the 'welcome home' party that sends Buck spiraling.  It takes him six months to work through it all, and when he does it could change everything.

Setting Post Season-4.

Tim: I'm here, I'm here! Sorry I'm late.

Kon: That's cool, man. Who was that boy you were with?

Tim: Oh, that's my boyfriend Bernard. I was on a date with him, that's why I'm so late.

Kon:

Tim: =)

Kon: That's... Congratulations, man! I didn't know you were...

Tim: Bi.

Kon: Yeah. You didn't tell me.

Tim: Oh, I didn't know I was until Bernard.

Kon: Oh... You... like him that much.

Tim: Yeah! The moment he said that our fancy dinner together was a date, I knew. Kind of a lightbulb moment, you know? I should have known before then, I know, but I think I just needed to hear it. The moment I knew he liked me, something clicked inside me and I knew I liked him back.

Kon: ... That was... all it took?

Tim: I guess, yeah.

Kon: ... Cool! I'm really happy for you, he better treat you right, haha. Ma is calling me back to Smallville, can you give a sec?

Tim: Oh, sure.

Kon: Thanks! (flies away)

Tim: I think that went well.

Kon: (flies into the sun screaming) THAT WAS ALL IT TOOK????????????? ALL THOSE YEARS EMBRACING HIM AND LOOKING AT HIM OVER MY COOL SUNGLASSES AND I JUST NEEDED TO SAY I LIKED HIM? (punches the sun like it's a boxing bag) AND WHAT KIND OF NAME IS BERNARD? IT SOUNDS LIKE HE'S SIXTY! HE WASN'T EVEN WEARING A LEATHER JACKET THIS IS BULLSHIT--

Tim: So, I have to tell you guys something.

Dick: You know you can tell us everything, we're your family.

Jason, under his breath: That's not the reaction I get whenever I make a big announcement at a family meeting.

Damian: Tt, that's because your announcements always involve explosions and mayhem. Don't worry Drake, whatever news you have will be too boring for any of us to care anyway.

Bruce, already tired: Please Tim, go on. What do you have to tell us?

Tim: Okay, so...I'm dating a boy. And I'm bi.

Dick: That's awesome! I'm so happy for you, Timmy.

Damian: I'm only surprised you found someone stupid enough to date you, but I can't say I didn't see that other part coming.

Jason: Gotta agree with the gremlin here. But also, good on you for finally taking that next step Timbers.

Bruce: I'm very proud of you for telling us son.

Tim: Oh, great. That went easier than I'd expected.

Bruce: Well, this is a family full of detectives and you weren't exactly subtle before. Clark and I had matching shirts made ages ago, now we can finally wear them.

Tim: ...What?

Bruce: You know, those I'm proud of my gay son shirts. Though I guess I should change it to bi now.

Tim: Why would you and Clark wear those?

Damian: Because you and the clone are finally together after years of disgusting pining. Keep up, Drake.

Dick: They weren't disgusting, Dami, don't say that. Annoyingly oblivious, maybe, but also really, really cute.

Jason: So when's Kon coming over? I've had a nice talk involving some Kryptonite bullets and a shovel prepared for this very special occasion for ages.

Tim: ...Kon likes me?

Everyone: Oh god Tim, what did you do???

DC has finally done it. Tim Drake has been my favorite superhero of all time for so long and TimKon was one of my first ships that I subscribed to when I was a teenager. Thank you guys for finally giving us what we always knew was true. And this boy from the Americans--despite what’s happening with Titans, Keidrich will always be my Tim Drake.

In a hypothetical second American incarnation, Skam SD (or Skam San Diego) Season 3 would focus on Luis Rosario. The story deals with Luis' sexuality, as well as his relationship with Tyler Ream. The international iterations of the “boy squad” typically have a niche about them; I imagine this crew to be college freshmen (maybe community college?) and forming a break dance squad (had actual friends that were part of a college club).

Tim is still trying to recover his memories from before Flashpoint and so many of them are of Conner. When Conner comes to retrieve him, needing his help, they connect in a way unanticipated by the genius-level Robin.

TimKon Week 2020!!

This is my Young Justice fan casting that I wanted to release as part of the Arrowverse. There could be a TimKon fic that includes all of these actors as visuals--I’d be thrilled to see them as such.  I imagine this set in some sort of amalgamation of all three major DC universes: New Earth post-Crisis, New 52, and Rebirth, as Arrowverse already is.  They’d be older like the new comics of course, too, mostly established unlike Titans on DC Universe (which is where I’d prefer this save for some inhibitors).  My personal favorable casting choices are for Batman, Orphan, and Lynx, and I love the picks for Red Hood, Superboy, and most of all Red Robin.  How did I not put Ian Nelson together as Superboy already (what with Hoechlin officially being Superman and the Derek Hale connection)?  He’s got the looks, the body, and damn that smile.  And Keidrich--the brainy Henry Jennings in The Americans--ugh as soon as it hit me I was done.  Those two inspired this casting creation.

This is my Young Avengers fan casting that I wanted to get out before Marvel gets too far with announcements. Of course I’m developing a SpideyLad fic that includes all of these guys, but I still wanted to share my thoughts as to who should be who in the actual future of the MCU. I think my favorite castings are for Hulkling and the very last one--don’t think I’ve seen anyone pick him yet. :-)

What’s worse, if you think about, most people spend most of their lives not as a minor.  So if we’re writing/drawing content for adults, we’re focusing on an audience that happens to be the majority.  One step even further than that, those minors will have to become adults; there’s no getting around that save for grimmer scenarios.  Catering to immature, unrefined, unknowledgeable, and unexplored minds doesn’t make sense when they almost always improve in those areas with age.  The world is adult.  Kids are raised to be adults, not to be perpetuated as kids.  And if you’re not raised to be an adult, the adult world will force you to be at some point in time.  Always.

Fandom:

Adults: *create a space for other adults*

Minors*: *come into that space* 

Minors: this isn’t a safe space for kids!!

Adults: …..uhh no, it’s not.

Minors: why are you personally attacking me personally?

Adults: ….????????………… 

Minors: I know you want to fuck children

Me: *looks at fic with one character that’s in his 40′s and another that’s in his 50′s, with no children in sight* 

Me: ………please get out of my house

(I still get a lot of responses to this post calling me a pedo and I am t i r e d of this bottom-of-the-barrel quality discourse)

* this obviously doesn’t apply to all minors, and to all those minors (like me, when I was your age!) that manage to enjoy and participate in fandom without calling everyone a pedophile, I appreciate you.

War of the Mind update

I know I’ve been MIA since writing Tahiti for the Deadly Class fandom, so if there’s anyone wondering what happened to this story here’s the jist: I got stumped as to how to proceed. I knew how I wanted Chapter 5 to end but didn’t know how I wanted to get there.

Well

Now I do. I have almost all of the story (except for Chapter 10) planned out through Chapter 12. Phew. Now of course comes the writing but my goal is to have Chapter 5 out by the end of the weekend. I’m committed to finishing this story and won’t leave you guys hanging. Promise.

War of the Mind update

Deadly Class and the second season of The OA really didn’t help me get through writing Chapter 4 of “War of the Mind.” That being said, I have two sections left to write so I can confidently say it should be published the evening/night of April 3. I appreciate you all’s patience and hope you enjoy when it drops.

Weekend Break

“War of the Mind” will be on break this weekend to a) process all the glory that was Deadly Class, and b) figure out how I want the next events in my head to unfold. Thanks for the understanding, readers, and go watch this crazy show if you haven’t; Benjamin is a lush.
