"The minute I knew that she was gonna be a part of the show, I was very excited. I am a huge fan of Florence and her work. At that point, it had been me and Jeremy the whole time, so I was ready for some Florence Pugh. That scene in particular was so fun. There's a lot of layers. It's always exciting to dig into a scene like that. When you first read it, you laugh, there are points that you love and connect to. But when you really get into it you understand that there's a deeper meaning to this very fun scene that has a lot of great banter between these two really awesome characters.

“Let her go” Yelena’s eyes fall shut the moment she hears her voice. Its been close to two months since she heard it last. She opens her eyes and looks her assailant dead in the eye. “Don’t listen to her, do what you came here to do.” She chokes through the crushing of her throat. “Bucky, drop her, don’t test me” Kate growls and Yelena wheezes when Bucky closes his vibranium hand tighter around her neck. “She’s a liability.” Bucky answers, short and efficient as ever, cold, detached. A soldier, like Yelena. “I swear to god, I will shoot an arrow through your head,” Kate roars and Bucky doesn’t even flinch. “She’s a liability, Bishop.” He says again, short, and Yelena starts seeing black spots obscuring her vision. “No. She’s my wife.”

Bishova idea: The first time Kate saw Yelena drunk, because I imagine that's not easy to happen

I don't know, it's a silly thought. Kate seeing Yelena laughing at things that don't make sense but still having an aim and balance that no drunk person should have. Having ideas like adopting several ducks and training them to dance the Swan Lake and Kate almost accepting it but knowing she can't because the sober Yelena will kill her later for letting this happen

“Yes she has. I don’t know where she puts it all,” Natasha said.

“Kaaaate! Katie Katttt,” Yelena whined.

“Yes baby?” Kate said, holding an arm around the Russian’s waist to help her stand.

“Letsss do the darts Kate Bishop!”

“Oh no you don’t. We don’t need someone losing an eye because you’re drunk!” Kate said, steering her girlfriend away from the dart board in the bar.

“I am not drunk,” Yelena pouted. “It is simply a buzz, sestra,” she said, crookedly pointing at Natasha who was sat on a bar stool. “Watch me!”

Kate stared in awe as Yelena had somehow gotten her hands on darts anyway, throwing multiple bullseyes in a row. “If I was drunk could I do that?!”

“Hmm maybe not…” Kate thought aloud. “No! You’ve drank too much!! You’re drunk!”

“Whatever Kate Bishooop!”

Kate sat down at the bar next to Natasha, rubbing her head as Yelena mingled around the bar, the other patrons giggling at the blonde assassin stumbling around.

“Kate! There you are. You have to stop hiding from me Katie Kat!” Yelena said, trying to be seductive as she trailed her finger crookedly across the archer’s face.

“Lena I’ve been sitting her next to Natasha the whole time!” Kate said, looking at her obviously drunk girlfriend.

“Natasha is here?! Oh my Natalia I’ve missed youuuu,” Yelena cried, her face softening at the sight of her older sister.

“Yelena, I took you here!” The older assassin whined.

“Lena baby, let’s get you home where we can go to bed,” Kate said, rubbing Yelena’s back.

“No!! I promised that nice gentleman that I’d adopt his ducks and we could train them to do ballet!” Yelena said frowning. Kate thought about it for a second and then shook her head quickly, knowing sober Yelena would probably take her out if she agreed.

“Baby, the man told me he already gave the ducks to someone else. We have to go home now, okay?” Kate said, rubbing Yelena’s shoulder.

“Where is he? I will fight him for my ducks!!!” Yelena said angrily.

“We have to get her out of here before she does something we have to clean up!” Natasha said. Kate nodded and walked her girlfriend towards the door.

“C’mon Lena we have to go,” Kate pushed gently.

“No! I need to find that man!”

“Okay he’s out this door, I promise!” Kate said, getting an idea.

“I’m gonna show him what I’ve got!!” Yelena said, swinging her fists haphazardly.

Kate quickly opened Natasha’s car door and she sped off to their apartment to drop off the two lovebirds. “Is she always this wild?” Kate asked Natasha quietly as the small blonde assassin had finally gone quiet and fallen asleep on her shoulder.

“Honestly it’s one of the few times I’ve ever seen her drunk, so I’m not sure,” Nat said, smiling. “But I’m glad she has you to look after her.”

Kate beamed, brushing some wispy hairs off of Yelena’s face as she snores lightly on her shoulder. She knew she was lucky to have the blonde’s trust, but she was even luckier to have her love as well.

The height difference is so cute like Kate is always kissing Yelena’s head/forehead and Yelena pretends to be annoyed but the one day Kate doesn’t give her any, she’s a grumpy little assassin!

Yelena would neverrrr ask for help to reach anything (relatable) and she’d climb all the counters before asking Kate for help!! I just imagine she’s halfway up the counter and Kate reaches behind her and grabs the thing she’s reaching without mentioning anything and Yelena is all grumbling “I can do it myself Kate Bishop” 🙄🙄 but she’s secretly grateful for her help

I think they would switch with big spoon/little spoon depending on their moods!! Like Yelena would love holding Kate close on her bad days, giving HER the forehead kisses for once and calling her all the sweetest names in Russian as she soothes her and when Kate’s the big spoon, it’s silent, knowing Yelena needs to just be held and appreciated 🥺🥺

yelena NEVER pulls her punches unless it’s kate. half of her knows it’s because she’s more experienced and really doesn’t want to hurt kate, the other half just likes to be a menace and enjoys the way kate whines when she takes it easy. she’d never admit it though. sam made one offhand comment about it and yelena kept him in a headlock until he figured out how to say “i’m sorry” in russian

kate is a disney adult. yelena swears she hates it but almost always cries when the beast lets belle go in beauty and the beast. kate always openly cries when chip and mrs. potts can hug again

despite her proficient nature with weapons, yelena gets her ass handed to her by kate during fencing

yelena wakes up almost every morning to the weight of kate’s entire body on her. she loves it. it makes her feel secure but not trapped, like a weighted blanket that can snore

kate has a sweet tooth, but does not trust her girlfriend to buy her snacks after yelena came home with a chocolate covered apple and kate bit into it only to discover that it was a fucking onion. yelena spent the next week in the nearest town away from kate’s wrath

kate still struggles with her relationship with her mother, and is left in tears after one particular visit, collapsing into yelena and sobbing about how she wishes eleanor would simply let her go so they could both move on. it takes yelena 20 minutes to instil enough terror into eleanor to make her ban kate from visiting

yelena’s the aggressor, but kate will swing first to defend her. yelena says she’s tired of cleaning up kate’s messes just to cover up the fact that she’s honoured to mean so much to kate that she would try to protect her, the assassin, physically

kate encourages yelena to gradually put more pictures of nat out in the open. she knows it’s still a very open wound, but tries to get her to think about nat in a more positive fashion, not just hiding her away. kate wakes up one early morning to find yelena sobbing into a polaroid of her and nat and quickly cuddles her from behind, cooing softly as she lets it all out

kate is a fruity drinks kinda girly and yelena downs beer like a driver at a truck stop bar
