Urhghhh I wish I could like reblogs that are hashtags only bc some ppl say the nicest things in hashtags and it pains me when I cant respond

I especially hate when people say Lucy's only personality is liking Atsushi, bc it literally isn't. She's actually was already fleshed out during the guild arc and the reason it seems like her only personality is liking Atsushi is bc the fandom only seems to care abt her in the context of Atsushi. Also regarding canon itself Atsushi IS essential to Lucy's character development, their relationship is the turning point for Lucy's character. Lucy would not have turned away from the Guild if not for Atsushi.

The one point I'll give the haters is we don't know much abt Lucy's relationships outside of Atsushi which I admit is unfortunate but that kind of applies to most of the Guild, since there hasnt been like, any extra Guild centric content and most of the members only get screentime/relationship development with one specific other character (Steinbeck and Lovecraft, Hawthorn and Margaret, Louisa and Fitzgerald, Poe and Ranpo).

Also even if you step into the haters shoes, Poe is arguably more centered around Ranpo than Lucy is around Atsushi (seriously even his backstory was facilitated by Ranpo's presence) but a good portion of the fandom adores him regardless.

why do some (not all) bsd fans hate the female characters so much? i don’t get it. like, everybody hates teruko for just DOING HER JOB because she was fighting sigma. then people say, ‘oh, i don’t like her because her childish personality is annoying not because she’s a woman just TRYING TO DO HER JOB’ and then their favorite character is ranpo. or, people will hate a female character because she ‘gets in the way of their favorite ship’. if you haven’t seen this before i’m happy for you, but an example is ‘lucy gets in the way of sskk!!’ seriously? like, seriously? that is so fucking stupid. (saying this as a sskk/taniatsu shipper) just ship whatever you want and let that character exist. and to those who deny this, if lucy was a man and akutagawa was a woman you’d hate akutagawa because she ‘gets in the way of atsulucy’ there’s also the ‘oh, her only personality is liking a man!!’ when we were first introduced to katai his only personality trait was liking a woman and the fandom still loved him. i don’t like that in any character, but i’m willing to put up with it if the author fleshes out the character’s personality later. i absolutely despise the way this fandom treats female characters, yeah, some of their writing isn’t the best but they’re still necessary to the plot. this has been lou. i’m sorry for all the rants i’ve been doing recently, but i’m pissed about a lot of things. thank you for coming to my ted talk.

dazai finding someone as amazing as an ability user (if not more) who can keep up with him and being reassured that he isnt actually taking away their ability, a part of them and their humanity, whenever he touches them(bc we all know dazai is the touchy one) and dazai genuinely thinks ranpo is so amazing anyway and he trusts him so much.

ranpo finding someone who has also felt so out of touch with the rest of humanity, who couldn't understand why people are the way they are and why he feels so different and lost. someone who can keep up with him mentally and never doubts or berates him, someone who defends him from those who do.

I'm not arguing or saying people shouldn't like mori( as a character) but even if you like mori which I do understand has its reason ( eg being a big villain etc ) you should acknowledge that mori is atleast creepy

Thinking of doing a series of little arts with each member of the DoA band in the AU as a Will Wood song because they are Will Wood adjacent to me (blame Fyolai for excreting neurodivergence and non-conformity all over their songwriting /aff)

Anywayyssss first installment in the series we have Fyodor as White Noise!

Reasons for picking this song:

The song is generally agreed to have themes of meaning, specifically feeling things are meaningless and finding meaning for yourself in inherently meaningless things

Some people interpret the song to also be how capitalism and consumer culture strips art of meaning or waters down what is considered art and why

The last verse gives me inexplicable Fyodor energy (" you fill your head with thoughts you find you can't even feel. Try to make room in your skull but it's full them. Bonus: As far as I'm aware, this is the only Will Wood song that uses cello, so. :3

I just found out recently that Will said the song is actually about suicide and depression...but also as the extension its about not being able to find meaning even in the things you create yourself so it still works.

Headcannons for them! (I mean not really hcs? Cause I made the au? so uh just canons in a way):

- They all went to the same highschool and thats where they met

- Higuchi had an big crush/friend crush/mild obsession w Akutagawa back in highschool (still kind of does) and actually only learned how to play guitar bc she found out he did and she wanted to simultaenuoesly be more like him and impress him (but she did grow to enjoy the activity personally)

- Akutagawa's vocals can get pretty deep and rough in the songs and its a little bit jarring to go from only hearing the music to actually seeing him because you got this gravelly ass voice coming from this cunty twink.

- Hirotsu taught the Akutagawa siblings guitar and music stuff, he also wanted to make his own music when he was younger but he didn't have the resources to produce it at the time.

- Tachihara has a bent nose it happened a long time ago (for unspecified reasons) but he puts on a bandaid when he's in his band persona bc he thinks its cool (its so corny is circles back around to being kinda cool)
