Arthur Kirkland: "Cam on Ingurland scor som fakin gols innit bruv"
Everyone else: 😬
The US/UK official accounts always pull the funniest shit when national holidays come help
America apparently read a history book on the clothing choices of ancient nations just to argue with England that snuggies are not just for lazy people. Although, America does seem to like getting lots of his ideas from ancient nations, so he might’ve been reading that for fun XD
Also, England apparently listened to America’s entire speech/ramble. Isn’t it nice listening to someone talk about something they’re passionate about?
But seriously, are the “snuggly” and “fluffy” sound effects really necessary?? They’re already in snuggies, it’s already too cute for me to handle u.u
Oh and:
is there any particular reason America isn’t wearing his glasses? Does he not need them in his wearable home? Does England usually dream about America without glasses? Is it just an artistic choice because Hima-papa likes messing with us???
Also, England is apparently very good at coming up with insane America-esque ideas. And still insulting them.
I like how the only time we see England let America win an argument and admit he’s impressed is in a dream ;u;
I also like how when England tells America to “come out”, America’s first thought is apparently Frozen.
I also like how England was apparently so comfortable in his snuggie that he fell asleep, and America apparently decided to let him nap and to continue reading his history nerd book. While also listening to England sleep-talk about him. Which apparently isn’t unusual, because America does not seem at all surprised that he’s in England’s dream.
Also, bonus tiny cuties:
Italy’s prime minister just got a call from the minister for economy and finances that simply said “we got a fucking problem mario”
What do you mean this isn’t what happened?
Demon Days England!
Inspired by @lofi-tophat’s post on Hetalia characters in the style of popular art/animation of their countries.
who are you waiting for, Mr Kirkland?
Personally I don’t get anything from the part people are upset over but ‘England is tsundere for America’. I do greatly appreciate the confirmation of that and OF COURSE the statement about how important America is to him is so lovely. And he ‘can’t quite say his true feelings?’ Bless you, England. He acts like an adult on the surface, but only to America. Underneath, he’s very different- it’s as if he feels he has to deal with him like a grownup who suppresses his heart. - is pretty much a word for word description of what a tsundere is. So basically England is tsundere but only for America is what I’ve got. And Hima even says ‘he’s a tsundere’ at the end of the blurb. Most of the time in anime/manga when there’s a couple the creator is always more open about one side’s feelings than the other’s, and APH is no exception (AusHun, Chibitalia/HRE, etc.). And this is just so normal that I don’t quite understand why some people are upset over the fact that Hima isn’t as overt when discussing America’s feelings. America’s concern and the way that England impacts him is made clear in the strips itself, and almost every scene in which we see America being very serious or touched involves England. US and UK are a lot like a Takahashi couple. America isn’t a perfect fit for jerk with a heart of gold, but he fits in ways that matters (he’s also a bit of a tsundere himself). England is of course, a tsundere. Because of that England’s feelings are ALWAYS going to be more evident because that’s just the way the trope works and the way the character types work. The tsundere will generally realize their feelings long before the other, and this will be made apparent.
America’s canon obliviousness really plays into this as it’s very commonly found in relationships like this. It’s one of the things that generally sets a 'tsundere’ character off. The tsundere works up the courage to show their feelings in some way, but the other character doesn’t get what they’re going for. Happens all the time, and it happens with these two.
One difference between them and the typical couple in that trope is that they’re really both equally at fault for the fail. Sometimes the tsundere is less at fault in couples, but there are just as many moments where America is trying with England and doesn’t get the desired response as there is with England trying toward America (which is why I can’t stand the poor England, America is so mean mindset some of fandom has. They’re BOTH like that). The boys suck at communicating, which is also really common in the trope (and often if the characters just sat down and talked for a bit, all would be solved). I do believe that USxUK is set up like a couple. Hetalia has always been a series that plays with tropes a lot (part of its parody aspect), and they are no exception. I think that this new info is great, and I don’t personally agree with the idea that it’s indicative of unrequited love or whatnot. To me it’s almost the opposite. It’s the same kind of statements you see about couples like this all the time. And that actually really makes me happy.

Interview with the Hetalian characters:
Question to America
“in the five people here (Japan, Italy, Germany, England, himself?), who would you most likely not marry?’
America’s answer
“hmm, I guess England? I feel like his emotions becomes too heavy for whatever I do”
*screams*
Just a reminder that England is not the only tsundere, America is also a tsundere
By Heavy, it can be taken in many ways, like for instance: love
America and England used to be a ‘family’ and now they are ‘strangers’ but it must be scary for both of them to become a ‘family’ again in a different form.
England who’s scared he’s going to lose America again through independence(divorce)
England’s love becoming too heavy because he doesn’t want to lose America
Okay, so this was posted today:
Ahh, those little quips.
And apparently this was posted last year:
Top source of FDI?? America is making a point of mentioning that England is a strong source of money? So England is America's sugar...nation, huh.
I can't help being reminded of the scene where England's dying and America is getting all emotional, telling him, "You can't die!" before quickly adding, "You still owe me moneeyyy!!!"
Also, "UKinUSA" 👀👀
Can we ser more "Dark!Scotland"? Like the one with guns, angry, attacking his brothers ....
Not acting angry though
I always feel like he’s a bit reckless when getting angry (um, perception)
Doctor Spain: does anyone suffer from mental illness in your family
England: No, we all enjoy it
