Summary: While Harry and his friends stay at Grimmauld Place for the summer Sirius tells the trio + Ginny about Harry's first Christmas with his Godmother

Authors note: Everything in Italics is a memory and Y/N died shortly after Lily and James after being attacked by a group of Death Eaters for context :)

“Harry, did I ever tell you about your first Christmas?” Sirius mused as he sat at the table eating lunch in number 12 Grimalled place with Harry, Hermione, Ron and Ginny. “No, I don't believe you have,” said Harry, swallowing his sandwich. “Well it all started when Y/N, your godmother, decided we would all celebrate your first Christmas as a family"

“So let me get this straight, you’re telling me you want to spend all of December with the guys?” Sirius said, “Yes and Lily Prongs Jr. too of course”

“I'm sorry but they called me Prongs Jr.?” Harry interrupted with a snort while the two girls laughed. “As a matter of fact, we had to stop calling you that because you stopped responding to Harry,” Sirius said like it was a scandal. “No!” Hermione said disbelieve “No joke! Your mother wasn’t too happy about that” Sirius said more so directed at Harry than anyone else. “I bet Y/N must have loved that” Ron piped up thinking back to the previous stories they had heard of you. “Oh yeah, she had a field day with that one and started calling you Bambi until your mother threatened to take away her babysitting privileges” to this, the group of teens stayed silent for a moment before he continued “To watch me while I watched Harry,“ like it was the most obvious thing in the world while Remus, who had been listening from the doorway failed to contain his laughter, remembering how Lily said she would let ‘Uncle Moony’ watch Sirius instead of yourself. "She was quite amusing to be around,” Lupin said sitting next to his old friend at the table with a smile. “Yes, yes she was”

So as the group of friends talked about Y/N's plan, they had eventually decided to spend the week of Christmas together instead of the month. “James you were supposed to get the lamp from the basement an hour ago!” “Sorry Moony! I’ll go get it now, don’t get your knickers in a twist ” James mumbled to himself, making his way down to the basement “He’s got dad brain, ease up!’’ Lily shouted from the kitchen where she was watching Harry eat a plate full of leftover rice, mango and what was left of the lucky charms while Y/N was preoccupied fanning out the rest of the smoke from the chicken fingers Peter somehow managed to burn to a crisp in the toaster oven.

“It was only day one and they almost burnt the house down?” Ron asked bewildered “Yeah but right before that, Sirius managed to knock down the Christmas tree we had spent all morning covering in fake snow and tinsel ” Remus interjected while Sirius looked only groaned “Yeah and it only went downhill from there”

DAY THREE OF CHRISTMAS WITH THE FAMILY

“Come on you lot! we’ll be late for dinner ” Lily yelled up from the bottom of the stairs standing with Remus, Harry and Peter. “Sorry darling the other two may be a moment” James chuckled as he came down the stair with the presents for Remus’s parents and a smile, giving his wife and son each a peck on the forehead.

“JUST HOLD STILL!”

“I AM!”

“NO YOUR WIGGLING!”

“HONESTLY LOVE, I TOLD YOU IN THE STORE THE ZIPPERS BROKEN!”

“NO, IT'S NOT- I FIGURED YOU JUST DIDN’T WANT ME SPENDING THAT MUCH BUT NOW I SEE YOU JUST DON'T LIKE IT!”

"OKAY THATS A FIB! I TOLD YOU ITS LOVLEY AND YES YOUR SHOULDN’T HAVE PAID THAT, PARTICULARLY- BECAUSE! IT! IS! BRO-KEN!”

“They really are meant for each other” Remus rolled his eyes “I think it’s sort of sweet” Peter smiled

“She didn't think about fixing it with magic?” Ginny asked while Sirius laughed “It wasn't even broken, she was just being difficult” he huffed while Remus rolled his eyes and mouthed “It totally was” while the kids giggled. “Then why did you buy it?” Harry asked humouring Sirius at this point. “It complimented her eyes” he said with a lovesick as the others only laughed and tried to picture the two together.

“Mr. and Mrs. Lupin! so nice to see you again!” Lily said as she handed Harry over to Peter as the rest of the group was already inside, Peter looked incredibly uncomfortable holding the small child while Lily hugged Mrs. Lupin. While the three chatted excitedly about the new edition to the Potter house the rest of the gang handed off their coats to Y/N who was hanging them in the hall closet.

“-Yeah but when he got home it was already over” “How was he that late?” “That's what I wanna know!” Y/N finished while the rest of the dining room was sent into a fit of giggles. “Attention! Attention please!” Sirius announced, pushing out his chair to stand. “First, I would like to raise a glass to Mr. and Mrs. Moony for the wonderful dinner," he said while Remus only rolled his eyes "but I have a question for Lily and Jamesy boy here,” Sirius said as he moved to climb up on his chair before stepping on the table while Y/N and Lily were mouthing sorry from their seats with puzzled expressions. “Will you hand me, Harry?” He said with a straight face while, Lily displayed a look that could only be described as judgmental disbelief while her counterpart held a smirk.

“You expected my Mom... to give me to you… When you standing on the table in the middle of dinner” Harry asked in disbelief “Naturally, your father was supposed to work it out” Sirius stated fondly.

“No! your standing on a table! He’s a little too young to participate in your ‘Dinner theatre’ Sirius” Lily said looking to little Harry who was sitting in his high chair in between his parents. “Ugh just hand him over” Sirius groaned still on the table before nearly stepping in the casserole dish full of stuffing, tipping it on its side. “Thank god we’ve already had seconds" Y/N groaned after apologizing to the Lupins and trying to coax her boyfriend off the table. “Speak for yourself dear, those were your leftovers” Mr. Lupin said nudging Peter with a smirk. James, Remus and Mr. Lupin seemed to be having a grand time. Peter sat silently giggling but nevertheless confused, Lily looked unimpressed, Mrs. Lupin, intrigued and Y/N desperately trying not to smile at whatever the bloody hell Sirius was doing on the table.

“Fine, be like that! I’ll just improvise” Sirius exclaimed dramatically, flailing his arms above his head and pulling his foot out of the way of the food. “Y/N my love?” “Sirius my love?” “I can ask you anything right?” “Pretty much yeah but the tone of voice your taking is slightly unsettling” “Well what can’t I ask you?” he said lifting a brow with a hand rested on his hip “Sirius mate, your stalling,” James said giving him a look “Oh, Yes, My apologies. Y/N I love you” “You really had to stand on the table to tell me this?” “What? No! I was just kind of hoping one of the questions I was allowed to ask you is… Will you marry me?”

“Wait, wait, wait you didn't have a Plan?” Hemione said looking appalled at his lack of preparation “Of course I did! Harry’s mother just ruined it” Sirius replied with the snarkiness you would usually find in someone less mature. “What was the original plan?” Harry asked, curious as to how he was going to be used in his godmother’s proposal. “Ah, I’m glad you asked dear boy, Well you see I was going to have you give Y/N her ‘Christmas gift from ‘you’ and it was going to be the ring” “Why were standing on the table then?” Ron asked before Remus piped up, Never having considered it “Yeah, why were you on the table?” “For dramatic effect? What would you have had me done it on your mothers shag carpeting?”

Y/N looked around the table to see her group of friends smiling at her, bubbling with excitement over the inevitable. Then Lily, who looked a mix between of a proud friend , who had watched the two young adults grow together, fall in love, buy their first home and paint the walls blue. Then, there was the teenage girl, dressed in red and gold, squealing with her in joy after being asked out by the prettiest boy in their year she had been crushing on after being paired together in potions during fourth year. “Um, Yeah, sure,- Yes! Yes a million!” she exclaimed, jumping up from her chair to pull her now fiancee down for a kiss. Before she had the chance, he had pulled her to him, up on top of the table right before the flimsy folding table that had been set up to accommodate the large group collapsed under the weight of the two.

“You broke the table?!” Ginny said trying to stifle a giggle from the mental image alone of them all sitting around the table with Sirus standing atop it all with a sock partially covered in stuffing and the girl from the picture’s smiling in joy right before the table collapsed. “Yes I did, and they weren’t even mad about it” “My mother just wanted to start planning the wedding,” Remus said with a smile.

“Oh my god, you’re getting married!” Lily squealed after fixing the Lupin's dining table “I know!!!, look at this! It looks like something right out an enchanted fairytale. It couldn’t have been more perfect if it was made by-” Y/N exclaimed, taking off the ring, only to have it fall in the remnants of the turkey.

“Oh my goodness” Hermione sighed while Sirius cut her off with a hand “Don't worry, we found it,” he said before Remus chirped in, moving to sit next to Harry. “Yes, but that was after Lily yelled at you for taking so long, you practically teased us with your indecisiveness” “Oh! I’m ever so sorry that I spent too long trying to find the perfect ring and execution to propose with. No, your totally right Remus! I’m sure Y/N would have loved it so much more if I took a nice shiny washer and preposed to her in the swamp”. "So what happened next?" Ginny said ignoring the two’s bickering. "Well after that-" Sirius started to say before other members of the Order started to filter in. "Sorry kids but we'll have to reconvene at a later time," Remus said while they started to stand up to make room for the Order. "But-but" Ginny sputtered while Hermione pulled her up and out of the room. Leaving the kids to wonder.

“Karli, Karli wait!” you yelled as you ran after her through the park, fleeing the scene of Nico’s death. Running to try and catch up to her while the noise from the main street started to fade only leaving the pounding of your boots against the ground. Watching the new so-called ‘Captain America’ smash that shield into Nico was one of the hardest things you've ever had to witness. Although you didn't know him well his murder still sadend you, although you could only assume Karli was taking it much worse. “Karli please!” you pleaded, finally being close enough to grab her shoulder while she slowed down only to push your hand away.

“You should go back to the safe house to help pack up, we’ll be leaving soon,” she said continuing to walk through the trees in the deserted park. “I'm not leaving without you,” you said pulling back the branch she had previously let swing back to its original place “I’m not leaving without you” she scoffed under her breather before stopping in her tracks making you bump into her. “You're not leaving without me huh?” she said angrily turning around only to step forward, inches away from your face. “I’m your leader, I'm in command and that was an order-Why won't you just leave me alone?” she yelled cutting herself off while you stood there furious.

“Because I love you!” you screamed back at her while trying to catch your breath although before you had the chance she cupped your face and pressed her lips to yours.

Surprised and still slightly upset, you kissed her back forcefully while throwing your arms around her shoulders. Reluctantly parting for air you leaned your forehead against her with a smile. Rolling her eyes with a grin she quickly pecked your lips “I’m sorry, it's just-” she started to say “I know it's getting harder,” you cut her off “You have every right and reason to be upset, the Flag Smashers are your life but you knew when you started this everyone wasn't going to make it to the finish line” you said with a bitter smile while she moved her hand to your waist enveloping you in a hug. “Our life” she repeated into your should giving your collarbone a quick kiss.

“I love you so much Pumpkin, you know that?” she says smiling into your neck before looking back at you. “You know, I can probably have Dovitch pack up tonight,” she says with a smirk “Yeah?” you asked amused while she separated from you only leaving your hands intertwined. “Yeah, they won't miss us that much,” she said leading you out of the trees with a smile.

“Happy Birthday love,” Karli said setting your breakfast down in front of you while you smile, stretching up to give her a kiss. “Thank you,” you said gazing lovingly at you while she took a seat beside you. “Remind me to call your (P/G) to say thank you after breakfast” she with a cheeky smile while taking a bite “My (P/G)?” you asked while taking a sip of juice. “For raising such an amazing daughter,” she said teasingly while finishing up her breakfast.

Headcanons:

She definitely makes you breakfast in bed although it may end up with either you helping her make it or her helping you eat it

Makes you a cake while you were out the day before with one of Mama Donya's old recipes

Probbaly gets you those sparkaler candles

If you have a pet she'll get them a little party hat while getting one for herself and anyone else who wants one

If don't want a big party she would either just invite close friends/family or would plan something for just the two of you

If you like bigger parties she would discreetly invite everyone the two of you knew for a surprise party

Would honestly be the best party planner and have all your favourite foods and decorate your shared apartment/house to the nines with your favourite coloured decorations

If you had to go to work before the party she would have flowers delivered to you

Probably brought you lunch

Walking home from school once again alone, you kicked the pebbles in front of you while humming absentmindedly. I was stupid. Thinking that he would pay attention to you of all people after everything that's happened. After Toshinori got his quirk he had barely spared you a glance. Yes, you understood that he wanted to train to help his self-destructive quirk and that he had now gained confidence that allowed him to make new friends, you were happy for him. At least, in the beginning, you were. But now in your weakest moments when you needed a shoulder to lean on, he wasn't here. Just like how your phone now seemed like a barren wasteland without his constant texts.

When everything's made to be broken, I just want you to know who I am

Thinking back to yesterday when you had finally worked up the courage to approach him near the end of training you sighed while turning onto your street

"Hey, Toshinori?" You asked tapping him on the shoulder, wondering if you should even still call him by his first name. "Y/N?" He said almost surprised while turning to face you. God, you wished you hadn't come to talk to him. "I was wondering if everything's okay?" You said already wanting to leave after seeing his horribly fake smiling face. You had been friends for years, you could read him like a book. "Of course, Y/N, why wouldn't it be?" He said looking past your shoulder. "Toshi you won't even look me in the eye anymore" you pleaded, wanting an answer for his actions the past couple of months "I'm looking you in the eye right now," he said glancing towards your smaller figure. Jeez, he didn't even look the same as when you had last seen him up close.

Scoffing at the memory you realized you were nearing your house and decided to forget about him. You didn't need him any way you told yourself as you felt the need to cry, because although you felt like you were grieving the loss of someone who was still living, he had been your best friend since elementary.

You can't fight the tears that ain't coming or the moment of truth in your lies

Walking up the front steps you pulled out your keys to unlock the door, you kicked the door in anger before sliding the key in, in defeat.

When everything seems like the movies, Yeah you bleed just to know your alive

Throwing your bag down while kicking off your shoes you wander up to your room although you were home alone you sat on the edge of your bed with a sigh

Cause I don't want the world to see me

You supposed it was the lack of answers that had you reeling or maybe just the fact that he was your oldest friend

But I don't think that they'd understand When everything's made to be broken

But the one thing you knew was that you'd miss him a great deal and could only hope that he would feel a little remorse for what he'd done.

You said barely awake, giving her a hug from behind "I thought I'd make you something special" she said with a smile while leaning to the left to allow you to peak past her to see your favourite.  "God I love you" you mumbled, while she gave you a peck on the forehead "And I love you but I would also love a set table" she said while you laughed "So demanding" you mumbled while bending down to pet (P/N) before going to grab the plates. "I can feel you staring at my ass," you said while she only laughed.

“Nice to see you again (L/N)” Karli said while you swiftly dodged a punch thrown your way.

"Likewise" you replied curtly while taking a swing at her "You know (N/N) I think you'd make a nice addition to the team," she said while ducking a punch "Oh yeah?" You asked amused, finally landing a blow to her side.

"I might have considered-" you said as she swept your legs out from under you "-If I didn't already have a team" you finished while pushing yourself off the ground while she laughed, slowly starting to circle you."

Hey I hate to break up whatever weird thing you got going on (Y/N) but if you don't make a move soon Walkers gonna come and do it for you” Bucky said in your earpiece making you sigh.

"Sorry Babes but I have places to be" Karli chuckled while you were momentarily distracted, giving her the perfect opportunity to kick you in the chest knocking you onto the ground along with the wind out of your lungs.

Hearing a laugh in the comms from Bucky and a faint "No hard feelings doll!" from a retreating Karli you only murmured a faint "Shit" while you groaned, sitting up to hit the ground with your fist only be called for backup by Sam.

“JB!” you yelled opening the screen door to the Chateau. “JB? JJ?” you asked while you could hear a faint “Hmn?” from JJ’s room. “Do you know where John B is?” you asked holding onto the door frame of JJ’s room only for him to groan and open one eye before slamming his head back into the pillow. “Well tell me if you see him cause we’re supposed to go fishing today,” you said while walking out of the room. Hearing a thump followed by a half-dressed JJ as he stumbled out of his room barely awake. “JJ what are you doing?” you asked while he started going through the hall closet. “Going fishing with you and John B,” he said while you walked over and shut the closet door. “JJ you are super hungover, you smell like ass and look like you haven’t slept in a week even though it’s- 11:45,” you said glancing at your phone while he slumped and plodded back to his room as the back door opened. “Hey! There you- are” John B said passing JJ with a confused look. “I was in the back getting the boat ready, I just gotta grab my bag them I’m ready to go” he said with a dorky smile while pulling you in for a quick hug. Grabbing your bag and one of John’s sun-faded hats off the coffee table for yourself, you started walking towards the boat.

While you stood shoulder to shoulder with him while you both stood patiently waiting for a bite, your line suddenly jerked forward almost pulling you off the boat. Hastily throwing his rod behind him while his line was still in the water, he grabbed your waist to steady you while you battled it out with your line. Finally reeling in your line, John B laughed at your catch while you went into shock. “A crab net,” you said in disbelief while John only smiled “Hey, at least it’ll be easier to catch ‘em now,” he said while wrapping an arm around you to slightly shake your shoulders “Like look at the size of that thing! He said in disbelief now that he was able to get a good look at it with you safely on board. “Should we keep fishing?” you asked while he now reeled in his rod that was left on the bow “Maybe” he said humming “Did you bring any food?” he asked admiring the view while you were bent over the cooler bag “No,” you sighed while straightening up “Should we just drop by the Wreck?” you asked while he smiled tossing you the keys “Your paying”.

Walking into the Wreck after leaving the boat at the docks, you both grabbed a table near the window while you waited for someone to come take your order. “Now what can I get you two lovebirds?” a girl a few years older asked while you and John looked at each other in surprise. “We’re-” “We’re not dating” you finished for John while the girl just laughed and took your order. “Well that was weird,” John said with an awkward chuckle while he scratched his neck “I guess,” you said with a laugh while John looked down at the table “Would it be weird though?” he asked while now looking you in the eyes. “Um… No?” you said hoping he wouldn’t yell April fool even though it was mid-August. “Okay then,” He said sending a grateful smile to the waitress who had dropped off your order. “This can be our first date,” he said stealing one of your fries while you stared in shock wonding how this had happened. (Not that you were complaining)
