I’ve been catching up with qsmp lore lately. Some of my thoughts so far

And even though I didn't watch Tommy's stream, I do need to say.
I don't regret a single moment of loving that ridiculous Minecraft RP.
I don't regret the arguments, the meta, the unhinged late night posting about c!Wilbur, the friends made or art reblogged and animatics watched over and over. I don't regret caring intensely and being snarky on main about the shit I didn't like or being bitter about how it all ended.
I loved the community. I loved how, because of the nature of the flawed and messy media we were consuming, we made the story better. I love how we tied things together and gave it a coherency that the actual CC's only wish they could have achieved. I love how some CC's were delighted by the threads we found and story meanings we discovered. I loved watching my favorite CC be giant dork on main about his Minecraft OC because I was just as big of a dork over it.
I love the stories our fanfic writers created with those characters and themes and ideas that they were given. I still love reading those stories.
I will continue to love the things the fandom produces even if it's not content I'm actively consuming -- because that's the beauty of fandom. It doesn't matter that the server is gone, that it ended in a way that left an unpleasant impression, or what was left unsaid or incomplete. The community continues to preserve and elaborate on everything that was fun and unique and loved about that RP.
the dsmp ending so close to its 3rd anniversary is just so . o7 it’s been an honour to experience the storytelling and fun and games and the scavenger hunts and the chill mining streams and church prime and being so immersed in lore that you start to feel nauseous and the community finding so many new friends and enemies and igniting peoples passions for art and writing and analysis and replication building and skin designing and making people feel a little less lonely during quarantine and bringing people together through streamer meet-ups and community meet ups bc the dsmp extended so much further than the streams . it’s ending but it’s not over bc the fans are still here and even though people have and will move on they will remember that the dsmp brought them happiness and community and friendship . even people who thought they weren’t invested are emotional seeing it end . every single person in that server was there for someone . and its sad to see it end but im grateful for what it did
