I was rewatching CA:BNW with my friend (who was watching it for the first time) and she said that in the first scene/mission at the church, Marvel could’ve done some imagery with the stained glass windows. IMAGINE if we had gotten like angel wing overlapping with Sam or something like that???
It still hurts me that it could have done so much better if they didnt sabotage it, like adding that so called black window really made it off putting for some people.

sam has not received enough screen time or backstory for people to hate him reasonably. a bulk of the hate targeted at him is racial either implicit or explicit. this unfortunately shows up in the way he is portrayed in fics.
when one writer mischaracterizes sam due to his race (intentionally or unintentionally), another person reads it, boom another fic is written by different person with the same racialized and incorrect characterization. it becomes an infinite feedback of racism .mass consuming fanfics (like we all do) changes the way you view and feel about the characters. sam is not immune to this.
both on this app and that god forsaken bird app, I’ve watched stans attack sam based on characteristics and events that NEVER happened in canon. its all based on fics and head cannons. BITCH YOU HATE HIM ABOUT SHIT YOU MADE UP??
like i love a good sambucky fic as much as the next person but im getting VERY tired of the way sam and bucky keep being written. bare with me, this is difficult to articulate.
sam: the way his physical attributes are described are often so racialized,objectifying and dehumanizing. specifically when being written into smutty or conflict scenes, sam is written as hyper aggressive,dismissive, and domineering.
bucky: infantilized to HELL. why do yall keep having sam explain racism and slurs to a man who grew up in the 40s?? BITCH , HE KNOWS! poc couldnt vote in the 40s, people were still enslaved, the KKK was VERY active. in what world would he NOT know about racism? you think he didn’t notice that when he served that the military was segregated and when he came back, segregation was no longer implemented? BFFR. and then youll have same explaining racism to him like he’s a child. bucky can understand the intricacies of government corruption but not racism??
its easiest to notice when it’s directly compared to bucky’s physical depictions. why is bucky only pale and muscular with long hair while sam is dark, massive, chocolatey, and well endowed ?(this is a direct quote btw, and before you ask, the writer was not black). in arguments or any conflict at all, sam is depicted as this loud, both physically and verbally aggressive looming force while bucky is presented as this weak, pathetic, damsel in distress. look at canon and look then at the two of them and tell me its not racialized??
bc funnily enough, bucky is canonically the more aggressive and confrontational while sam is a significantly gentler and diplomatic peace keeper. how the hell are their characteristics getting flipped like this?? racism.

Oh wow Leia definitely has a victim mentality like you can tell she was mad that she wasn't the star of the group watching that documentary, but I don't want to jump on her to badly because I honestly do think something is mentally wrong with her. So I'm happy she left and hopefully she is getting help, probably not though. BlackSwan works better as the group they have now. Their "Roll Up" era was really good for kpop group that is small and underrated with the gp. They also had more people buying their EP this time around and went #1 in different countries. No shade to Judy and Youngheun because those two girls were also talented and much love to them for defending Fatou and being on her side when that whole scandal went down and told Fatou to keep going and telling the truth about Leia. But you can tell Fatou is very happy with Sriya, Gabi, and Nvee. If the son of that company, now that the father has stepped down, is smart he will realize what four talented/smart girls he has and keep going.
