The door to the lab opened with a loud bang. He turned to tell Jayce to be more gentle. Sometimes when he was excited he forgot his own strength. But who he saw was not Jayce.

It was Jayce, but his hair was long and hanging in his eyes. He had a thick, messy beard. His clothes were dirty and torn. A crude splint on one leg. One you’d use in a survival situation, not with a hospital near by. He carried a large hammer that looked grown from the ground itself. There were stress lines in his face and his shoulders spoke of a tiredness that Viktor had known too well. He'd just never expected to see it on Jayce. What had happened to him?

"Jayce?" He whispered. It may not have been his Jayce, but he was still Jayce. And Viktor couldn't help how he felt around Jayce. When their eyes met, Viktor could practically feel the hunger coming from them. He leaned against the desk for support against their intensity.

"Viktor." This new Jayce spoke low and deep, like his voice hadn’t been used recently, and Viktor felt it in his bones. Jayce prowled towards him like an animal stalking it's prey. Viktor felt no fear, just anticipation. He'd never feared Jayce, just his feelings for him.
