Season 1 Episode 1: Pilot

Sometimes people do irrational things for person they love.

That’s why Ted steals Robin a blue French horn from a restaurant. It’s something so trivial. Something said in passing. Something that’s noticed and then all at once its yours. You’re suddenly thrust into this “us,” “we,” and “ours.”

Now you have a blue french horn. A stupid trinket from your first date, a receipt, a ticket stub, an antique stop watch that tells the right time twice a day that you saw in the shop window…

You will do anything to make that person happy and get them what they want to show you that you listen and pay attention.

The blue French horn isn’t just a gesture, it’s the gesture. It’s proof that Ted will do anything for this girl–even steal.

And love is irrational. So that’s why this is okay.

That’s why you give the person you love a blue French horn.

Because it’s the little things.

#1 HOW YOU MEET 3/5

(I know zayn isn’t in one direction anymore but I refuse to not include him so if you don’t agree don’t bother reading)

Harry: you and y/f/n had been planning to go to this big party in the centre of London which everyone was going to. Although you’re not exactly the type for big party’s you had agreed as y/f/n had done a good job in persuading you. So here you were slipping on your high heels as she sprayed her body in a huge amount of perfume before announcing herself as ready. You had both left shortly after and soon enough you were getting lost amongst the sea of partially drunk people as she pulled me towards the kitchen.

“ Here, drink this ” y/f/n had said holding out a cup of clear liquid.

“ What is it?” you scrunched your nose as you caught a whiff of the clearly alcoholic drink.

“ Its just vodka ” she smiled as she drank from her own cup quickly shooting the liquid back .

You sighed before following her actions.

“ Come on let loose. it’s a party ” y/f / n smiled as she pulled you back into the crowded living room where people were dancing against each other.

You had been there 10 minutes when y/f/n was asked to dance which she gladly accepted. You had just been sat down in the corner playing with the hem of your dress listening to the music above as everyone had the time of there lives.

“Do you not know anyone? ” a deep came from beside you the chair dipping as he sat next to you.

“ I know a few people. I just don’t like the atmosphere of these types of things ” you shrugged taking a look at the charming guy with beautiful green eyes who you recognised very well.

“ I’m Harry by the way ” he smiled holding his hand out.

You shook it softly.

“Nice to meet you. I’m y/n ” you smiled kindly.

The rest of that night yourself and Harry continued to speak until y/f /n came over and said she was going back to the guys house she had been making out with.

“ Oh right, well have fun ” you smiled before she giggled and followed the guy out the door.

“ I should get going. It was great meeting you ” you smiled as you stood from the seat as he copied my actions.

“ I’ll walk you if you want? Its quite late now ” he answered with a smile as you nodded.

Once you arrived at your door you exchanged numbers before saying goodnight and heading back to your ordinary lives.

Louis: you had been friends with Liam Payne for as long as you remember so you were there throughout his x factor experience. It wasn’t until 3 years after the band had formed that he actually agreed you could meet them but on one condition, you had to promise that he would always be you’re best friend and soon enough the day had come when he had arrived back at his parents house.

He had called you straight away to let you know that the guys were there with him. You had rushed around to his house and was greeted at the door by Karen. She let you in straight away and informed you they were upstairs in his room.

You walked up the stairs quickly before gently tapping on the door. Liam opened and immediately engulfed you in a hug. You hugged tighter having not seen him in person in many months.

“ Ok guys this is my best friend, y/n. You know there names already so I don’t need to introduce them come sit down ” Liam smiled widely as all the guys greeted you with hellos.

“ So you’re the infamous best friend he never shuts up about. ” Louis smiled from the corner of the room.

“ it depends on what he’s been saying ” you laughed lightly.

“ He’s always on about how funny you are. He’s told us about some of the pranks you’ve pulled on him. And I must say from what I heard for a girl you’re ok at pranks but we all know I’m the master right lads?” Louis smirked as Liam sighed.

“ Louis, you’ve literally just challenged her into pulling another prank” Liam laughed lightly as you grinned cheekily.

“ Don’t worry love. I won’t prank you ” you told Liam as he smiled in relief.

“ Maybe we shouldn’t let these to meet again aye liam” Niall laughed.

“ Oh hell no. We have to meet again. I will prove myself ” you commented throwing Louis a challenging stare.

“Louis finally met his match ” harry snickered as Louis slapped his arm.

“ Hey, no one’s pulling pranks on each other ok” zayn laughed.

“ Z I will not back down from a challenge ” Louis stated.

“ Hey, it was you who challenged me” you laughed as he just stuck his tongue out.

“ Ok child. Anyway Liam my mum instructed that I tell you that you’ll have to pop around at some point because she misses you ” you rolled your eyes at Louis before turning to Liam.

“ you two really are close aren’t you ” zayn smiled.

“ Yes, we’ve known eachother practically our whole life and his family is like my second family and mine literally love Liam ” you smiled widely.

The conversation after that had just been about there most recent work and events and having Liam and them show you pictures. You enjoyed the rest of the day with them even when Louis was cheeky every now and but you always had a comeback ready for whatever he would say which had everyone cracking up and you realised then how genuine they all were.

Liam: you and Liam was a classic accidental meeting. You had only recently moved to London so you didn’t really have many friends so for the first two weeks you just took everyday as a day to explore.

On one of these days you were minding your own business holding your cup of coffee in your hand as you looked around the busy street as you slipped between the busy sidewalk.

You were just turning a corner when a bunch of flashes went of right before you collided with someone sending your coffee over both of you.

“ Oh my god I’m so sorry ” you muttered as you picked up your bag of the floor along with a hat he dropped.

You looked up then to be met by Liam Payne surrounding by paparazzi.

“ Its alright, love. Are you ok?” he asked as he placed his hat back on his head.

“ Yes. I hope I didn’t burn you ” you mumbled flustered from embarrassment and the heat spreading across your chest where the coffee hit you.

“ No, it’s fine. ” he smiled sincerely.

“ Ok good. I should get going. I’m sorry again. ” you mumbled as you took a step from him before he stopped you.

“ Wait. Don’t forget this ” he said handing a piece of paper which he had quickly scrawled on.

I looked at it and read what it said. It had his number and then underneath it said let me buy you a coffee to make up for it.

“ Ok thank you ” you smiled as he both continued on in your separate ways.
