Two manatees swimming closely together.

Time to spill the mana-tea!

While not great at gossip, these large, air-breathing herbivores are found in shallow waters where seagrass beds or vegetation flourish. Manatees are slow-moving and therefore unable to swim quickly away from boats; this often results in collisions that may cause injury or death to the creatures. In areas that are known manatee habitats, boaters should slow down and produce only minimal wake.

Have you seen a manatee floating beneath the surface in Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary?

Today We Bring You A Lovely Pair Of Musically-gifted Thrushes!

Today we bring you a lovely pair of musically-gifted thrushes!

The Naturalist’s Library praises the tunes of the Song Thrush (upper right):

“The cheerful melody of the common Song-Thrush, in a balmy evening of spring, cheers the early labourer, and is listened to with a delight and quiet pleasure which is felt by all.”

However, Jardine is not quite as impressed with the blackbird (lower left):

“His song is full and deep, but has a greater monotony of tone, and wants the clear and varied notes of the Song Thrush, and we do not think that it is either so frequently sung or so long continued at a time. It is, nevertheless, a better cage bird than the other, is more sprightly in its manners, is easily tamed, and learns to whistle parts of tunes, and even to imitate the sound of one or two words.”

An Ode To Betty White

An Ode To Betty White, for years we have watched you with delight. Our favourite Golden Girl I can see confidently without a single doubt. In my minds I noticed and even thought “Damn for a granny Betty White is a Baddie”, I bet underneath that tight knit skirt she has a tight body. A night with Betty White would go like this; her, me some cheesecake, a bucket of chicken and some gravy, because you know things are going to get saucy! In my dreams Betty White is a freak, I could see being into some weird stuff like bondage, wearing her leather corset and small horse whip, Betty White would be giver, you give her sex and then at the end of the night she asks you what your favourite charity is and she donates to it in your name. for giving her a piece of you for the evening. then she politely shoves you out the door and says “keep it saucy, pony boy”. your mind is blown because you had a night of debautry with Betty White She Shared with you her body, her cheesecake, her chicken and gravy and then donated to your favourite charity and told you to keep it saucy, pony boy”. Then the next day you get on google and check the daily news the headline reads “ Betty White Died of Natural Causes” We love Betty we are all saddened by the news, we think to ourselves she was a national treasure and you are thinking to yourself “yeah, she was!” The world is mourning and we feel Betty White is an Angel on Earth, but the tables turn and she has a first class ticket to hell. Where she is greeted by Frank Sinatra and Sammie Davis Jr. She is drinking hard Whiskey with one and doing blow with other. Betty is the Queen of Hell. Screwing all the bad boys of the day. she screws them so hard, she screws the evil out of people like Mussolini. This is my Ode to Betty White.

Lights Out

When the Lights Out and you close your eyes, do you drift into a deep sleep? waiting for a dream to slowly creep. Do you welcome what is there to greet you? or do you try to run away because it haunts you? Dreams they go by various names some good, some bad. Pie in the sky, Imagination these beautiful words in the darkness give us light, Nightmare, Delusion while awoken midst the day it is blight. My, O My, we live in a conundrum are we fighters? or just lucky survivors? Either way the choice is ours. but we must be aware, Life isn’t deathly still awake or in our sleep our brain still thinks. Lights Out.

My Hero

My Hero, My father. At a glance you would not see Superman. He was not 6′0″ he could not shoot lasers from his eyes, freeze things with his breath, fly or stop a car with the strength of Hercules. My father was an average man 5′10″ lean build, his super power was his quick wit and intelligence. The ability to make his kids feel safe from the crazy world and people around us. He never had the opportunity to hear me say this, in fact him and I butted heads more than we got a long. But in retrospect a father knows he will be both the vilian and hero in his children eyes. When his child is hurt he knows he has to be like Atlas and bare the weight of the world on his shoulders, to be there to be an ear and just absorb the pain their son is feeling, He also knows he is the sunshine of his kids  eyes he is their Hero and that there is no other man of this world they love and greatly admire. One day we all lose the ones we love and we take life for granted while they’re here and Mess them like hell when they’re gone. I know if I could turn back the clock and spend those 25 years with my father again. I would never misbehave, I would cherish and Journal every time, day and moment with him. learn to forgive, no one is perfect. But love is the eternal flame in our hearts.

I love you Baba, sincerely your son Khalid K.

Identification with your mind creates an opaque screen of concepts, labels, images, words, judgments, and definitions that blocks all true relationship. It comes between you and yourself, between you and your fellow man and woman, between you and nature, between you and God.

It is this screen of thought that creates the illusion of separateness, the illusion that there is you and a totally separate “other.” You then forget the essential fact that, underneath the level of physical appearances and separate forms, you are one with all that is.

By “forget,” I mean that you can no longer feel this oneness as self-evident reality. You may believe it to be true, but you no longer know it to be true. A belief may be comforting. Only through your own experience, however, does it become liberating.
